Another Biden Scandal Might Be Brewing

Original Article

In a new letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, a bipartisan group of lawmakers from both chambers of Congress is demanding answers regarding U.S. companies that were apparently allowed by the Biden administration to export technology to entities in adversarial foreign countries — entities with products currently being used in attacks against America's international partners. It's not news that the world has become an increasingly dangerous place since President Biden took office. Russia invaded Ukraine as Biden insisted his sanctions would deter Putin's ambitions. Israel was attacked in a bloody slaughter carried out by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists.

It's not just a Biden scandal although he seems to be more generous with our tech than former presidents. We have been giving our technology away to countries like China and Iran for decades and acting surprised when they use it against us. This is the international version of equity and inclusion.

Andrew Cuomo shows no shame for his scandals
— making dream political comeback a fantasy

People who are driven from public office by scandal usually take a timeout to recover from the shame. Those who later try to return do so with promises they learned their lessons, and some even go on apology tours to ask for a second chance. Then there’s Andrew Cuomo. Humble pie is not for him. He resigned as New York’s governor in August 2021 rather than face certain impeachment and conviction over a slew of issues but never admitted guilt or serious error and soon began plotting a comeback. When polls showed he would finish a distant third in a three-way race for his former job in 2022, he took a pass.
Biden is breaking the border on purpose

The backlog of pending cases in the nation’s immigration courts has hit 3 million, as millions of border migrants have been released into the United States to seek asylum in the past three years. It’s a shocking figure, but just the latest example of the president’s efforts to break the immigration-enforcement system, likely to force a massive amnesty he has long sought. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — among others — has accused former President Trump of “gutting” the immigration system, but such claims are little more than projection.

The shocking decision by the Colorado Supreme Court Tuesday that aims to keep former President Donald Trump off the ballot for the GOP presidential primary in the state sent shockwaves across the world as angry critics continue to slam the opinion and argue that real democracies don’t work this way. RedState’s Sister Toldjah brought you reactions earlier from Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former New York congressman Lee Zeldin, New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and more:

I see in the papers that Kanye West went off his meds. TMZ reported, “Kanye West is apparently in the grips of a serious mental health episode. That’s the only conclusion to draw from his furious rant, attacking his ex-business partners, Donald Trump and, of course, Jewish people.” Hates Trump. Hates Jews. Blames others for his problems. His beliefs are so mainstream Democrat that he could be president of Harvard. Given his propensity for marrying women with large doctor-inflated chests, maybe he also believes that children should be allowed to get plastic surgery.

Hungary has blocked €50bn ($55bn; £43bn) in EU aid for Ukraine - just hours after an agreement was reached on starting membership talks. Summary of the nightshift: veto for the extra money to Ukraine," Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said after Thursday's talks in Brussels. EU leaders said Ukraine would not be left without support. Ukraine is critically dependent on EU and US funding as it continues to fight occupying Russian forces.

The political rollercoaster that unfolded in Brussels this week was astonishing even for the most veteran watchers of European summits. As EU leaders met for the last time before the Christmas holidays, all eyes were on one man: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. He is perceived as the Kremlin's closest ally in Europe, and is the only EU leader who met face-to-face with Vladimir Putin this year. As his voice grew louder with threats that he would block two crucial decisions on Ukraine, speculation in Brussels was rife about how the negotiations would go down. Would Mr Orban torpedo the summit?

The Houthis have been fortunate to have, as a powerful patron and sponsor, Iran. Their backers in Tehran will not let them run out of ammunition and the Biden administration will not let the Iranian regime run out of funds. Iran has been employing every political and military tactic possible -- including racing toward nuclear weapons capability -- to complete its objectives of annihilating Israel, driving the United States out of the Middle East, and establishing an Islamist caliphate. Does anyone seriously think that if Iran finally acquires a nuclear bomb, they will not use it -- or at least threaten to?

Joe Biden held Israel closer than any American president ever has in the horrific days after the Hamas attacks on October 7. But more than two months later, following days upon end of Israeli strikes in Gaza that have killed thousands of civilians, unprecedented tensions are widening between the White House and the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Biden accused Israel, for example, of carrying out “indiscriminate” bombing in an off-camera political event this week. He used exceedingly blunt language, which typically causes pushback from Israel’s leaders, who insist they try to spare civilians but accuse Hamas of using innocent Palestinians as cover.

Obama-appointed District Judge Tanya Chutkan paused former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election trial schedule while the appeal for his presidential immunity claim is pending. In early December, Chutkan rejected Trump’s bid to have his case dismissed based on presidential immunity, prompting Trump to appeal to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Chutkan agreed Wednesday to pause pre-trial deadlines and further proceedings pending the appeals court’s decision. “[T]he court agrees with both parties that Defendant’s appeal automatically stays any further proceedings that would move this case towards trial or impose additional burdens of litigation on Defendant,” Chutkan wrote Wednesday.

Former President Donald Trump has expanded his lead over his GOP rivals with five weeks until the first Republican presidential nominating contest, now earning 51% first-choice support from likely Iowa caucusgoers, according to the latest NBC News/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll. Trump’s lead — the largest recorded so close to a competitive Republican caucus in this Iowa poll’s history — is fueled by majorities of evangelical and first-time likely caucusgoers, as well as by nearly three-quarters of Republicans who believe Trump can defeat President Joe Biden next year despite the legal challenges the former president faces.

Three main points before getting to the substance.(snip)As long as President Trump appeals the decision to the Supreme Court, the appeals court stays their own ruling – essentially indefinitely. The Colorado primary ballots printed, and the primary election will be over, before the Supreme Court puts this on their docket. In addition to the virtual guarantee the high court will overrule this political nonsense, SCOTUS can make the entire issue moot before them by following their own normal schedule for submissions, arguments, deliberation and opinions delivered by the court.

But voters are even more unhappy with another politician, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who received an exceptionally low six percent approval rating. Meanwhile, 60 percent of respondents disapproved of the job he's been doing. (X) Monmouth wrote about the McConnell numbers, noting that he’s the only person in the poll who received a net negative score:

The all-Democrat appointed Colorado Supreme Court last night barred Donald Trump from the state's 2024 Republican ballot over his role in the January 6 riot - with legal experts warning they have imperiled American democracy. The 4-3 decision marks the first time in history that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment - which disqualifies insurrectionists from office - has been used to eliminate a presidential candidate. Justices Richard L. Gabriel, Melissa Hart, Monica Márquez and William W. Hood III said that they had 'little difficulty' in determining that the events of January 6 were an insurrection and that Trump did 'engage' in that alleged rebellion.

I like Joe.” I watched the YouTube video of it and once again marveled at the very idea that anyone in 2023 could be so ignorant of Biden’s character. At present, polls show that his approval ratings are the lowest ever for an incumbent president but the very fact that 30% of those polled still believe he’s doing a good job means that idiocracy is now the normal state in America. All right, perhaps, I’m wrong and the average I.Q. in America hasn’t decreased to -50.

Every year, The Christmas Story is a holiday feature. I enjoy it a lot! The Chinese restaurant ending is great! Everything about this movie is so politically incorrect, from the old man to Mrs. Parker, to just about everything else. I’m not sure why he waited so long but he nailed it. This is Mr. Ebert’s review: One of the details that ‘A Christmas Story’ gets right is the threat

The Real Claudine Gay Scandal 21 replies

Dr. Claudine, current President of Harvard University, is one lucky woman or, as she might describe herself a “a lucky woman of color.” She first survived her dreadful testimony before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where she refused to unambiguously denounce calls from Harvard students and faculty to kill all Israeli Jews. It was an embarrassing performance filled with weasel words and amorphous defenses such as “it all depends on context” as if genocide might be legitimate in some circumstances. Gay’s second lucky break was to survive clear-cut evidence that she was a career plagiarist, and this scholarly dishonesty far exceeded inadvertent sloppiness.
