A Five Guys customer's video complaining about the extremely high prices of the items at the fast-food chain has resurfaced on multiple social media platforms.
Michelle Newell posted the clip to TikTok explaining that she and her husband had paid $42 for two cheeseburgers, a side of fries and two milkshakes.
The visibly upset patron told viewers that the couple had visited a Five Guys location on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Newell shared her anger last year - but a check by DailyMail.com Friday evening confirmed it remains just as expensive to buy the same meal.

Five Guys is horribly expensive. MickeyD's is expensive - it costs close to $30 for a couple burger, fries and a drink. Hubby and I like going to the bar in a small town near us on taco Tuesday's - 4 tacos and a couple of beers for $15. Cheaper than MickyD's and we get beer :)

The burgers are good, but very expensive and if you order them with all the "free" toppings, they're impossible to eat because they keep sliding apart. One visit or less per year is fine with me.

No one is reminding the public that minimum wages for fast food workers were raised to over $15 per hour because of the demands of democrat supported groups. In places like CA, the hourly wage for a fast food worker is over $20 per hr. Along with the price of beef no being over $8 a pound for decent quality and other ingredients costing 15% more, the prices had to go up. If the Climate change crazies get their way and beef raising is cut back, a real beef hamburger will be $20. It's already that much in a more upscale restaurant.

There's a wonderful dive bar/restaurant that just opened near me where you can get a smashburger with chips and all the fixings you want for 8 dollars. I suspect if they had opened back in 2017 it would be cheaper. The price of all food has gone way up. I'm thinking about the food for Christmas this year and it's going to be high - very high. Thanks Bidenomics.

It's not rocket science, it's Bidenomics. You pay staff a minimum wage of $15 - $20 per hour, pay for increased prices on potatoes, ground beef and condiments. Pay increased prices for facility rent and utilities. Finally add a small percentage for profit. Wha-la, you have increases in prices for consumers consuming your product. Again it's Bidenomics.

What about the increase in insurance rates, food prices, property taxes, gas prices...why dwell on Five Guys... no one forced anyone to go to Five Guys...at least the food is good!

Democrats hate beef - unless they have it on their own plate. The customer should complain to his congressman about the policies that damage that industry. The store is merely trying to stay in business.

Look around, high food prices are every where. This is one way to get you to stop eating meat and about everything else.

I know I'm missing something but aren't prices posted? If you add the items you want in your head you won't be surprised by the bill. You also have a right to buy the item or not buy it last I checked. No wonder a nanny government is an easy sell to fat Americans. The real price isn't posted on that concept so it's an easy sell.

It's not just the wages of the burger flippers. Our government has printed so much money in the last several years. The laws of economics cannot be rescinded.

These idiots were the ones on the streets and online about the $15 and hour "living wage."
ROTFLMAO!!!!
They are so pathetically stupid that I have ZERO sympathy for them.
Hint: if you want to eat better and for less, then LEARN TO COOK, idiot!

Never even heard of Five Guys, but I do have a favorite fast food chicken. I would stop whenever I was in town and be in hog heaven for a while. I dont stop anymore. The prices have skyrocketed to the point that I cant justify it. Better to save the money for gas or ammunition.

At Five Guys, they have a junior burger that is cheaper. Also, their orders of fries are huge. Order one, to share with someone else. The same is true at many other places.

The first time we went to Five Guys in Florida about 10 years ago, the food was expensive, but good. If you go back the second time, you should remember from the first time that the food is expensive, but good. We knew this would happen when they were talking about $15/hour minimum wage.

This is what inflation looks like. Have these people been sleeping under rocks? Do they buy gasoline? Groceries?

Go buy yourself a $1000 Weber grill, a $350 Ninja air fryer. Cook your own. At these prices your break even will be within the blink of an eye. Besides getting a genuine, clean wholesome meal.

Grinding up a round roast at $5/lb, buying 10lb bag of potatoes at $4, adding in ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard/mayo, and sesame buns comes out to less than $5 per burger and fry meal.
Plus you can change out the topping for chili and cheese and onions (on both burger and fries) for about $6 a meal.
Who needs these fast food outlets with their questionable beef?

I went to McDonalds and got their deal 2 Mcdoubles for $3.00.
I put them together and make one burger out of them.
It makes a good burger for $3.00
I decided to splurge and ordered a small fries. A small fried,
My bill was over $8.00 . One small bag of fries was $5,00. That's a lot of money for half a potato.
WTH i learned my lesson. No more fries.

Since we're picking on individual restaurants, Red Lobster began increasing their prices about seven years ago, way pre-pandemic. I didn't understand it then, probably due to seafood procurement difficulties and Chinese overfishing, but now I really cringe at paying over $30 each for a couple of my favorites on the menu and no longer getting the "free" Caesar salad. The Lobster has become a once or twice a year birthday occasion for us but I have learned to prepare my own fish.

I bought a large chicken soup from Panera the other day...$24 Smackers when it used to be $8.
I told the clerk, Tell your Manager I will NOT be back!
I think some (Leftist owned) businesses are taking advantage of the Inflation to jack up prices because they can!

I no longer purchase anything from a fast food restaurant because I reuse to pay $10 for G**D hamburger. Not to mention the price of the sides. It's not difficult to dine in a sit down restaurant for not much more money and a lot more ambiance.

My DH and I used to enjoy a KFC chicken bucket. A few years ago we would pick one up a couple of times a month and get three meals out of it for about $19. A few weeks ago we were near a KFC so we splurged and got a bucket. . .$43! Sadly, that will never happen again.
