Obama-era deal to allow Hamas office in
Qatar backfired on US: experts

The U.S. played a direct role in helping set up the Hamas office in Qatar during the Obama administration, seeking appeasement and soft diplomacy but ultimately failing to control the terrorist group as it festered in Gaza. "For many years now, both the United States and Israel have been living in a policy fantasy world where we have tolerated Hamas' existence in Doha and believed that Doha would be a moderating influence," Richard Goldberg, the coordinator for the Trump administration’s maximum pressure campaign on Iran, told Fox News Digital. "That thesis was disproven on Oct. 7, so whatever has happened in the last few years,

You mean Barack Chamberlain made an appeasement mistake? But, but, the Kneepads and fascist have been telling us for near a generation now that Obambi was the smartest man alive (after of course, Hitlery, BJ Clinton and Mitt Romney).

There are always lots of theories and explanations as to why Little 0bie does the dumb things that his advisers tell him to do. There's incompetence - - laziness - - ignorance - - electioneering - - greed - - insecurity - - etc. Sometimes those things are good explanations - - and sometimes they are not. But there's one thing which explains everything - - all the time - - and it's this - - HE'S ON THEIR SIDE - - whoever the "their" happens to be. Try applying that to whatever nonsense comes up next - - and you'll see that it works every time.

Re #6. In time, they will. But I tend to agree that being proactive in these matters is the proper course of action. I am convinced that Israelis just don't really have the stomach for doing what really needs to be done, and would rather fight this forever war in periodic installments rather than really take it to the vermin and exterminate them once and for all.

Something still nags at me to not forget the "intelligence failure" of both the US and Israel concerning the October 7 surprise but other than that, I see Israel fixing this problem once and for all. We are reputedly the best in the world, what allowed savages dangling from kites and cutting through security fences to enjoy such terroristic success? Some people may have been asleep at the wheel but everybody?

Obama has made a major mistake...and Qatar looks like a fool because WE know just how vicious the Hamas demons are...even if they hide in Qatar...away from the fighting....and the Palestinians have shown just how vicious they are when it comes to babies and children...not to mention all the hostages that they still hold in underground tunnels...what happened to the two year old hostage that was suppose to be released?...and now WE find out the four year old was an American...and that makes her parents who were killed the first Americans killed by Hamas....and Obama sits in the Oval Office not doing anything about it....

If hostages held in Gaza are not freed within the next few weeks, Israel will broaden its offensive in southern Gaza and push into the city of Rafah on the Egyptian border, war cabinet member Benny Gantz warned on Sunday. “The world must know, and Hamas leaders must know — if by Ramadan our hostages are not home, the fighting will continue everywhere, to include the Rafah area,” Gantz said. The holy Muslim month of Ramadan begins this year on March 10. “We will do so in a coordinated manner, facilitating the evacuation of civilians in dialogue with our American and Egyptian partners to minimize civilian casualties,” the former IDF

Russia is trying to develop a nuclear space weapon that would destroy satellites by creating a massive energy wave when detonated, potentially crippling a vast swath of the commercial and government satellites that the world below depends on to talk on cell phones, pay bills, and surf the internet, according to three sources familiar with US intelligence about the weapon. These sources gave CNN a more detailed understanding of what Russia is working on – and the threat it could pose – than the US government has previously disclosed. Republican Rep. Driving Electric Vehicles: Report

In recent years, the American car market has been pushed toward becoming a significantly more electric one by the Biden Administration's strict Environmental Protection Agency rules. Those car tailpipe emission rules are so strict that by 2032, two-thirds of all new cars would need to have no emissions at all. But now, after months of pressure from automakers, dealers, labor unions and the other side of the political aisle, the White House may ease up on that plan—a move that will sure to draw the ire of EV proponents and anyone sounding the alarm over global warming. This report comes from the New York Times, citing three unnamed officials

WASHINGTON - U.S. President Joe Biden has spent years implementing programs to fight climate change by advancing renewable energy and imposing tougher regulations on fossil fuels. Much of that work could go up in smoke if his likely rival Donald Trump beats him at the polls in November, according to Republican policy advisers. Former President Trump, who is on track to clinch the Republican nomination, would re-enter the White House with a raft of executive orders to expand oil, gas and coal development, they said. That would include ending a pause on new LNG export permits, scrapping electric vehicle mandates and once again withdrawing the United States

Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from the key battleground town of Avdiivka in the east of the country, which could pave the way for a Russian advance as the war nears its second anniversary. The withdrawal, announced as Ukraine faces acute shortages of ammunition with U.S. military aid delayed for months in Congress, aimed to save troops from being fully surrounded by Russian forces after months of fierce fighting, Kyiv said. Most of the city’s pre-war population of 32,000 people has already left, and the town has been almost completely destroyed.

The Wall Street Journal has a long article about the Biden administration’s efforts to stop Israel from winning a decisive victory over Gaza: The looming Israeli military plans to invade Rafah have exacerbated tensions between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and the Biden administration, which has grown increasingly frustrated with its attempts to rein in Israel’s military campaign. The consequences of the distrust between President Biden and Netanyahu, who have spoken 18 times since Hamas’s Oct. 7 assault, have grown only starker in recent days. In laying the foundation for his sweeping decision against former President Donald Trump, Judge Arthur Engoron observed that “this is a venial sin, not a mortal sin.” Yet, at $355 million, one would think that Engoron had found Trump to be the source of Original Sin. The judgment against Trump (and his family and associates) was met with a level of unrestrained celebration by many in New York that bordered on the indecent. Attorney General Letitia James declared not only that Trump would be barred from doing business in New York for three years, but that the damages would come to roughly $460 million once interest was included.
