What is happening to liberal host Bill Maher? He seems to be increasingly pushing back against the narratives of his own political party. In recent weeks he has slammed liberals for defending Hamas and the rise of anti-semitism among you[ng] people. He lambasted elite colleges for their “indoctrination into a stew of bad ideas” and the suppression of free speech. [snip] Now, on a recent episode of ‘Real Time,’ Maher took the bold move, at least within his own party, of defending western civilization. Just as shocking, Maher’s audience applauded his efforts.

America’s elites are neither bright, competent, nor qualified. We’ve all been asked to speak to some particular lie of the present regime. First, though, a word on that word. We, or at least I, have been taking some flak recently for using it. It is said that we mean it as a pejorative. But when I say “regime” in reference the present ruling order, I am speaking as a political scientist. “Regime” means “ruling order” or “form of government.” How, then, could using this clinical word possibly be pejorative?

A former Georgia lawmaker is planning to sue Clayton County for ousting her from her position after she was filmed screaming at medics who allegedly found her passed out drunk outside of a sports bar.
Felicia Franklin announced that she is filing the suit for wrongful termination after county officials voted unanimously to dismiss her from her position as Board of Commissioners vice chair over the September altercation, which was recorded on police-worn body cameras, according to the Daily Mail.
