Why Hamas Attacked—and Why Israel Was
Taken by Surprise

On the morning of Saturday, October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas carried out a surprise attack on Israel on an unprecedented scale: firing thousands of rockets, infiltrating militants into Israeli territory, and taking an unknown number of hostages. [snip] For insight into what this means for Israel, the Palestinians, and the region, Foreign Affairs turned to Martin Indyk, the Lowy Distinguished Fellow in U.S.-Middle East Diplomacy at the Council on Foreign Relations. Indyk has twice served as U.S. ambassador to Israel, first from 1995 to 1997 and again from 2000 to 2001.

This is the most insightful and least hysterical analysis I have seen.

Saul Alinsky: Rules For Radicals "Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have." "Never go outside the expertise of your people." "Whenever possible go outside the expertise of the enemy." "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." Hamas's military strategy is to parallel to Alinsky's social strategy. Instead of reading the academic's prescriptions In Foreign Affairs magazine-- which Hamas no doubt reads too-- Israel may want to think about Saul Alinsky's dictates and how to counter them: 1. assume the enemy is weaker than it seems 2. train your people well and broadly 3. go outside its expertise 4. toss the rule-book

FTA....As part of that potential deal, the United States is pressing Israel to make concessions to the Palestinian Authority—Hamas’s enemy. What the heck is he talking? Hamas ousted Palestinian Authority and took over Gaza in 2007. Did the WH give him these talking points, since many Americans are clueless about world affairs?

I think I have a solution to the Palestinian problem, but it's going to be expensive. First, Israel must strip the top two inches of its land and transport it to central Great Britain around London. There, the Army Corps of Engineers would build a precise duplicate of Palestine as it existed in 1947 before the Balfour accords that gave Israel the rights to their land. If we can duplicate Afghan villages at Twenty-nine Palms Marine Base, we should be able to handle a mostly sand, pre-industrial, feudal country like Palestine. Then we would round up all the Palestinians that are in camps or in the Gaza strip, blindfold them, and take them to the Palestinian clone city. We would use mind altering drugs and media manipulation to convince them that they have now been returned to their own land after a fair election by world governments. If they don't know the difference, is there really a difference? Voila! Peace in our time. Maybe we could start a GoFundMe page.

Why did Hamas attack? Because they believe in the tradition of killing Jews which goes back to biblical times and wanted to uphold that tradition. That and also they are barbarians and savages that would have fit right in with humanity from 6000-7000 years ago. Primitive mindset, modern weapons.

People like Martin Indyk are precisely the problem, not the solution, nor does he (or others like him) have any workable solutions. As an American, I recommend our non-involvement, as I recommended our non-involvement in the Russo-Ukraine War. We have no national interest in these age-old blood feuds, and our involvement will do nothing to stop the hostilities. Our involvement will only serve to enmesh us in those hostilities. We have enough of a problem with the Biden/Obama cabal allowing untold numbers of foreigners into our country and attempting to bankrupt us at the same time. We need to concentrate on our own problems.

As Maui Mayor Michael Victorino noted just last year, fire and police suspect someone is intentionally setting them. Just a couple weeks ago, Hawaiian police responded to two fires on Maui. One started by an unattended cooking fire, the other, apparently, intentionally set."

Moreover, the woke company has mandated that employees keep Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) diaries which determine whether employees would receive promotions, raises, or even keep their job. It could be a huge moment, or a terrible anticlimax. By the time the deadline is reached, it will have been 1,265 days since news of a “mystery pneumonia” first emerged from Wuhan – and for much of that time a small group of US intelligence officials have anonymously been briefing that the virus came from a lab.

It is worth noting and emphasizing the specific target of this effort, lest the motive slips by while many are distracted by the outrage. Joe Biden, together with and in direct coordination with, the two wings of the DC UniParty system, is not focused on ‘republicans’ as political opposition and domestic enemies. Joe Biden and his various conscripts are focused on a very specific type of republican, the “MAGA Republican.”

October 7 was a national nightmare for Israel. The day was marked by a catastrophic terrorist attack that left hundreds of Israelis dead—a shock to the national psyche. This day was Israel’s 9/11, Tet Offensive, and Pearl Harbor rolled up into one. Thanks to assistance and training from Iran, this attack by Hamas, which was several weeks in the making, began with a hellacious rocket barrage that provided cover for a sophisticated land, air, and sea assault along the Gaza border. Around 1,000 terrorists invaded Southern Israel, which led to hours of slaughter, rape, and kidnappings. Hamas took at least 100 Israelis hostage. The images and videos were ghastly.
