A young couple was shot and killed on Labor Day while sitting in a car with their one-year-old baby in gun-controlled Los Angeles, California. FOX 11 reported the incident occurred in Harbor City around 6:40 p.m. The couple, 21-year-old Carlos Loera and 18-year-old Ashley Guzman, were simply inside the car with their baby when the shots rang out. Loera died at the scene and Guzman died at a hospital. The baby was in a booster seat and only suffered minor wounds from bullet fragments. There were at least five bullet holes in the driver’s-side window of the Infiniti as police collected evidence Monday, video from the scene showed.

Wasn't supplying free drugs and paraphernalia supposed to stop drug crimes? How about giving guns away to stop 'gun crimes'?

I had friends who were from gang neighborhoods. Their chances of survival was constantly iffy every day until they moved out and never went back. I can easily see how this couple’s luck ran out. Bad lifestyle to have.

How did this young couple afford an Infiniti? Perhaps they were involved in something illicit.... doesn't excuse the crime but perhaps it wasn't random.

Gun control only disarms the honest citizens. Shockingly, criminals don't follow the laws - including gun laws. And Prof John Lott proved in his important book reporting his research, the book title tells the tale, "More Guns, Less Crime". Sad for the poor kid. His life will be immeasurably harder now.

Is there any correlation between gun availability and illegal shootings? If so, I havent seen it. Everyone I know has at least two or three and we rarely hear of any problems. Now ask the same question about melanin levels.

Re #7. You should read John Lott's book. There is a VERY strong negative correlation "between gun availability and illegal shootings" as you say. I'm betting a used copy of "More Guns, Less Crime" is available from an online book seller for under $8. Worth the read.

The reputation of “politician” precedes any civil servant, so right off the bat, I hold a less-than-flattering bias against those entering government (to put it mildly); it’s a “guilty until proven innocent” prejudice, but I will say, it’s evenly applied. Then last week, Michelle Wu, Boston’s hardcore leftist mayor, opened her big mouth and showed (again) just how right on the money one can be when you operate under the assumption that ineptitude and uselessness are shared traits amongst elected officials. On September 7th, Wu declared a “heat emergency” saying temperatures were expected to reach into the… ready for this? The nineties.

The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, confirmed during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” that COVID-19 mRNA vaccines can cause myocarditis, particularly in young men. This comes after months of dismissing or downplaying concerns about potential side effects of COVID-19 vaccines. During the interview, Fauci was asked to discuss the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and the ongoing vaccine drive. Addressing the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, Fauci said, “Again, we have experience with this type of vaccine in billions of people. It’s a safe vaccine.

Former White House chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that there were “a number of studies that show that masks actually do work” to stop the spread of COVID-19. Anchor Jon Karl said, “There’s a new study out that suggests that masks were actually not effective, at least not in a global sense, in containing the pandemic. What is your sense looking back at all of this? Did masks prove to be less effective than you anticipated?” Fauci said, “You know, Jon, some of the studies are confusing. The study that has been quoted a lot and causing a lot of confusion is this Cochrane Study

I'm not sure what New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham thought she was doing with her anti-gun executive order. The order effectively banned carrying guns for 30 days in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, using the excuse of a public health emergency in a blatantly unconstitutional move. Advertisement She probably thought that she would get votes with this, showing that she was "doing something" to deal with "gun violence." As she admitted in her press conference on the matter, she didn't even think this would stop criminals from committing gun crimes; it was about sending a "message," she said.

Homicides and robberies are up 29 and 67 per cent from the same time period last year, with murders approaching levels not seen in two decades - while other big cities such as New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Baltimore are seeing declines. Neighboring Baltimore could end the year with under 300 killings for the first time since the riots over Freddie Gray's death in police custody in 2015.
