The U.S. military on Wednesday launched an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile from California in a display of the U.S. nuclear forces' readiness.
The Air Force Global Strike Command launch was successfully carried out at Vandenberg Space Force Base at 1:26 a.m. PDT. "The Airmen and Guardians who perform this vital mission are some of the most skilfully trained and dedicated personnel in America's Air Force," said Col. Bryan Titus, Space Launch Delta 30 vice commander. "These test launches demonstrate the readiness of U.S. nuclear forces and provide confidence in the lethality and effectiveness of the nation's nuclear deterrent."

Some suspect that the Democrats and neocon RINOs--America lasters--want a hot war with Russia in time for next year's election. They figure they'll all be successfully reelected. If a bunch of Americans get eliminated, that's in the WEF plans. Saber rattlers ought to have their legs cut out from beneath them. Take away their sabers, too.

Finally, some adults in the room, but not in the White House. It's good to remind our adversaries of our strength every now and then. China, Russia, and the Little Rocket Man can't be convinced about what we can do with a discussion of our capabilities over milk and cookies unless they get a demonstration of our power. Red China has been rattling sabers since 1949, and calling us a paper tiger when we didn't respond. It's time we "rattled" back! We are letting Xi have a second thought about invading Taiwan with this missile launch. He's been testing us and we have responded. What's his next move?

Thank goodness generally milley cyrus hasn’t given all of them away.
I wonder if he warned the Chinese of our plans. Perhaps a full set of plans would make them happy.

Surprised that they still call it a Minuteman missile and not a Minuteperson missile.

There is nothing sensible about a nuclear war and there is nothing sensible about using tactical nukes. But then this government is completely lacking in sense.

Normal test flight. I worked in that industry and we pulled out a weapon, pulled it's "teeth" and added lots of telemetry. Then the "all up" missile with a defanged warhead was launched, and TONS of data gathered on how everything worked right up to the instant that there was NO mushroom cloud.
Nothing at all unusual. If anyone bothers to look, this is done on a very regular basis and has been for many decades. Nothing "short term political" about it at all.

#4 asks a very good question. Is the overweight JCS Chairman feeding information to his counterparts in Russia, China, and elsewhere regarding the mental stability and strategic intentions of the current CinC? As for the launch, I assume we dropped yet another ballistic warhead into Kwajalein Atoll. Boy, we got that trajectory down pat.

While I realize they need to test stuff to make sure it still works, and occasionally do a show of power for propaganda purposes, with this bunch that runs the U.S. military now, I always wonder if they are doing something necessary, or if they are just burning off ordnance and fuel so that we won't have it when we really need it.

Unimpressed sorry. This is of a part of Biden on a blood-red stage flanked by full dress Marines, the over-the-top chaotic and in-your-face withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, or Obama photoshopped into the Situation Room when bin Laden went down. A waste of a rocket when everybody knows this is not the kind of readiness needed. More gratuitous display for the mouth-breathers and low-information cohort among the electorate.
The rocket goes, “pffffft,” and so do America’s enemies.
Pathetic.

Whatever they said it was, safe bet that aint it. The military has never told the truth about anything in all of its existence.
They would not throw away a perfectly good missile just to "demonstrate readiness".

Sorry, conspiracy folks. I was in this industry for decades and these tests are absolutely pre-programmed for decades. I can't remember now if it is every three years or every four, but they are budgeted and scheduled.
And my division built the telemetry to replace the "teeth" of the nukes and was involved in setting up the testing. We worked the better part of a year for each one of these "all up flight tests", which tested every single part of the launch system, rocket, all stages, guidance, and the weapon - all systems tested - just no nuclear yield at the end.
NOT anything unusual, not anything related to current politics. Just a long planned single example of a series of standard 'all up' tests. Important in the long run, but means nothing in the short run except that
if there are problems we better fix them.
