Priebus: Trump is ‘Bruce Springsteen’

‘cover band’

I think the difference between this year and 2016 is that Donald Trump is the Bruce Springsteen of the MAGA movement. And these guys are a cover band, trying to dethrone the Bruce Springsteen of the MAGA movement,” Priebus said on ABC’s “This Week.” Priebus, who was the RNC chair from 2011 to 2017, said that Trump’s Republican challengers, like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, are not going after the former president. On the other hand, Trump is taking aim at his opponents, especially DeSantis who Trump has nicknamed “Ron DeSanctimonious.”

Really bad analogy. Bruce Springsteen is a mediocre, wildly overrated talent who is also an America hating, tax cheating, wealthy communist death democrat. In short - he blows but what do you expect from a so-called republican swamp thing like Priebus. I thought he was dead.

I agree with # 1...Bad analogy. Bruce is a radical leftist and his lyrics are garbled and his voice is hard to understand. A better comparison would be ...Trump is the "Elvis" of MAGA and politics.

What an insult, Springsteen is a leftist wimp from New Jersey. Trump is at least Eric Clapton or Roger Waters, maybe even Mick Jagger.

I know not bruce springsteen. But the others are bad cover bands. That part of the analogy seems correct. But, that said, people usually do enjoy a cover band because they like the song. Nope, I guess it's just a bad analogy. Perhaps Trump is Tonic and the others are Ipecacuanha?

Generic rock and roll. Not dissimilar to the generic country of Garth Brooks. But there is something about Springsteen's lyrics that made the Rolling Stone reviewer back in early 70's claim he was the next Dylan. What was Landau smoking? These comparisons of big stars to other big worldwide icons is almost always from starry eyed professional fans who likely over imbibe. On the other hand there was, "Clapton is God". An exaggeration yes - but I concede the point :)

Last Thursday, in the DC District swamp, the jury for the Jan. 6 trial in the case of USA v K. Joseph Thomas produced a stunning verdict, bringing the government’s narrative to its knees. The testimony of crooked prosecution witness MPD Police Officer Campanale was shattered by the defense team as his accusations against the defendant proved with the government’s own evidentiary video that he accused Thomas of crimes he committed himself. Campanale and other officers of the MPD had cut the tarps on the bleachers before any protestors were under the bleachers.

On Tuesday, a Muslim-led coalition protested at the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) building to express their frustrations with a new policy that eliminates parental rights to restrict their children’s exposure to materials that discuss sexual orientation and gender identity. Montgomery County recently approved a list of LGBTQ+ inclusive books to be used in classrooms, including books suitable for pre-kindergarten students. The policy stipulates that students and their families cannot opt out of engaging with these instructional materials, FOX 5 reported.

The 10-minute video, posted Tuesday evening, had been viewed about 73 million times by noon Wednesday, though that figure does not indicate how many individual users viewed the video or how long they watched for. Elon Musk, Twitter’s owner, addressed that fact a few hours after Carlson’s video posted, while he hailed Carlson’s launch. “View count is actually understated, as it does not include anything from our API, for example tweets you see in Google search results or on Bloomberg terminals,” Musk said, boosting his platform, before conceding “it simply counts if you saw the post on the X/Twitter app or via web browser, not how long you watched.”

A few months ago, Mike Rowe stumbled upon a 2011 video of himself speaking in front of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee during the Obama administration about the mindset of government toward skilled trades. So he went again in April of 2014, this time testifying before the House Committee on Natural Resources to discuss the opportunities for skilled trade workers in the energy industry.

Austin’s visit comes as India strengthens its domestic defense industry by acquiring new technologies and reducing reliance on imports, particularly from Russia, its largest supplier of military hardware despite the ongoing war in Ukraine. Austin and his Indian counterpart, Rajnath Singh, explored ways of building resilient supply chains, a statement from India’s Defense Ministry said.

When Trump burst on the political scene, his smashmouth style was, shall we say, off-putting. Dan Bongino, also from Queens, told us this was just the normal style of speech in that area. For four years, in the face of relentless false attacks, Donald Trump got things done. Lots of things. But he didn’t drain the swamp.
