Nicaragua Continues Anti-Catholic Crackdown

The White House is condemning the ongoing persecution of Catholics by Nicaragua’s dictatorial regime. National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby on Wednesday called Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega’s targeting of Catholics “unacceptable,” adding that there has “been a dramatic deterioration of respect for democratic principles and human rights by the Ortega-Murillo regime, including the harassment and imprisonment of … faith leaders, as you rightly said, including from the Catholic Church… .” This follows the Ortega regime invading a Catholic school, preparing to deport Catholic religious sisters, and freezing the bank accounts of Catholic dioceses.

This is the same Biden Administration that has the FBI investigating Catholics. The irony is not lost.

‘Comunistas’ always persecute Christians when their power is unchecked. It’s their modus operandi. May God preserve them. True Christianity cannot be wiped out. Even in the worse hellholes of this world, there will be pockets of believers.

But it’s perfectly fine to persecute Catholics here. Latest example - the LA Dodgers and the message they are spreading. #2, is correct. As I’ve frequently posted, I lived in Romania for three years during the Ceausescu regime. He jailed and executed priests, tore down centuries old churches and turned Bibles into toilet paper. But the people of his country continued to privately and in secret practice their Christianity. On December 25, 1989, Ceausescu and his Hillaryesque wife were executed and the Romanian people poured into the streets to openly celebrate Christmas for the first time in 41 years.

I don't feel sorry for Nicaraguans anymore. Wee helped them get rid of Danny Ortega in the early 1990's. Then a woman was president for about 8 years, and things were going well. Then Danny suddenly appeared back in the country, and ran for president - any they ELECTED HIM AGAIN! You get what you vote for, Nicaragua - embrace the suck.

Major clothing brands are kicking off Pride Month with LGBT-themed clothing marketed to children and toddlers, despite backlash against Target’s Pride collection for children. Target has lost $9 billion in market value in just one week after announcing a Pride collection that features LGBT-themed clothing for children, as well as a chest binding swim top and “tuck-friendly” bathing suit. Although some stores have relocated their Pride displays, Target CEO Brian Cornell has stood by the company’s commitment to transgenderism, calling the backlash against the clothing collection “gut-wrenching.”

In the 1980s what now seems like collective insanity hit this country—false reports of satanic sexual abuse of children in daycare. Some called it the Satanic panic. It took almost 20 years for this insanity to be washed out of our collective system. And it was insane. The following are just some of the claims made during this period: Children were said to have been forced to drink blood, blood-laced Kool-aid, and urine. They also reportedly ate feces and were forced to let animals eat pet food from their vaginas. There were claims they watched people being dismembered with

Americans often wonder why they should care or what the consequences would be if China replaced the United States as the world’s most powerful nation. Surprisingly, a clear answer to this question can be found in the ongoing saga of comedian Nigel Ng Kin-ju. Ng, more popularly known as Uncle Roger, is a British-Malaysian comedian and internet personality who has become wildly popular over the last couple of years, thanks to his hilarious critiques of Westerners’ attempts at cooking Asian food.

Children of certain ages who received Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine face an elevated risk of heart inflammation, according to a new federally funded study. Vaccinated children aged 12 to 17 face a heightened risk of myocarditis, a form of heart inflammation, and a related condition called pericarditis, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) researchers found. The number of myocarditis and pericarditis events in that age group met the threshold for a safety signal, the researchers reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association on May 22.

Elections matter. But just as important is the quality of the electorate. One of my long-time and wise colleagues who has passed on, Professor Bertram Levin, some years ago pointed out to me the irony that a democracy can destroy itself by voting itself into communism. Chicago, a beautiful and once vibrant city, has proven the point. Brandon Johnson, the new mayor, is an avowed communist. His recent characterization of businesses as evil profit-mongers is sure to accelerate Chicago’s death spiral as businesses flee the city. Johnson should not be blamed; the electorate should. The quality of the electorate can have profound effects on society.
Why Kari Lake Couldn't Close the Deal 13 replies

The 2022 stolen Arizona governor's election is an ideal template for 2024 — and it is equally a mirror reflection, with all the moving parts, of 2020. This week, Kari Lake lost, again, in a court that wouldn't have given her a victory had 240,000 citizens signed affidavits saying their ballots were stolen and changed at gunpoint. The courtroom exhibits may not have swayed the jurists, but those signature mismatches showed plenty of evidence that Kari Lake's election was stolen by a lack of signature verification — and more. Kari Lake's election is the template for important American elections from now on.

There are forces determined to destroy the American experiment (and they're not white supremacists, Joe). The most dangerous are attacking from within. They're using asymmetrical warfare to attack socially, economically, and ideologically to compromise our system of governance and bring about a new vision for America. Unfortunately, they use identifiers that hide their real intent. I've been struggling with what to call them. In my writing, I've tried a lot of names for the "fundamentally change America" insurgents. Many don't work because they are literally incorrect.

The Supreme Court has ruled unanimously in a delinquent taxpayer case that it is lawful for the IRS to secretly summons the bank records of third parties. In other words, the nation’s highest court recognized that the Internal Revenue Service is not required to notify third parties who are not under investigation when seeking a summons for banking records thought to be relevant to the tax delinquency of another person. One lawyer who briefed the Supreme Court said the new ruling gives the IRS “startlingly broad authority to pry into the financial records of people who may be only remotely connected to a delinquent taxpayer.”

Narrative, meet thy match: Actuality. On Wednesday, Robert Johnson appeared to indicate he’ll be sticking with Donald Trump when November comes around. During an interview on CNBC’s The Squawk Box, the mogul discussed devils: “As a businessman, I will take the devil I know over the devil I don’t know any time of the week. And that seems to be what business people are confronting today.”  (Snip) Of course, I can’t speak for the man; but I’d assume he wouldn’t be saying the above if he were especially unhappy with Trump’s job. He may not call it an endorsement, but it’s surely a favorable statement.  Correction*

The Ukrainian head-of-state also praised the response of the Biden administration, which has regularly handed over billions of dollars worth of weapons aid to the Eastern European nation since Moscow’s invasion began last year.

Noonan declares in her lede paragraph that if "Trump Republicans" nominate the former president next year, "they will have ended the Republican Party.' That there be no mistaking her comment as mere figurative remark, she declares in the following paragraph:

He could order the investigation and prosecution of individuals who he sees as enemies. I’m sure I’m on the enemies list.

California appears to be presenting the green movement with yet another reality check. Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom has set forth arguably the country's most ambitious state-level plan to transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy. However, when California's almost inevitable heat waves come in the summer and residents crank up their home air conditioners, officials turn on massive diesel-powered generators to make up for the state’s energy shortfall and to avoid rolling blackouts.
