Honoring Henry Kissinger on his 100th
birthday - opinion

Original Article

Even as he turns 100 years old this weekend, Dr. Henry Kissinger is relevant and worth listening to. World leaders continue to consult with him, and he pumps out sage book after prescient opinion column. His record regarding Jews and Israel remains controversial, but I think that on balance Kissinger deserves respect. Arriving in the US in 1938 as a 15-year-old Jewish refugee from Nazi Germany, Kissinger rose to become the most consequential figure in US foreign policy of the past century, serving as national security advisor and secretary of state to presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

A former worker at New York's Row Hotel has come forward to reveal the disgusting conditions migrants newly arrived in Manhattan are keeping their hotel rooms, which the city is footing the bill for. Carlos Arellano, who no longer works for the once luxury hotel, has described the premises as a 'free for all' of drugs, sex and violence and should be shut down. Almost all of the 1,300 rooms set across 28 floors of the hotel have been turned over to host migrants, with the city paying $500-a-night for the migrants to be housed.

There are over five million illegal immigrants on ICE’s non-detained docket, most of whom face years of court proceedings before a judge determines their immigration fate. This number will continue to balloon after the Biden administration ended the use of Title 42 deportations on May 11, a COVID-era policy that allowed the U.S. to immediately expel millions of illegal aliens as a threat to public health. In the run up to the end of the policy this month, daily border encounters soared to historic heights, with over 10,000 per day. On May 11, Border Patrol paroled 6,000 migrants to the streets of the United States with no court date even provided,

The late British author Beatrix Potter is being accused of stealing the stories for her Peter Rabbit books from slaves in America, with a woke literature professor saying Potter is guilty of the “appropriation” of black culture. In a recent essay, Emily Zobel Marshall, who teaches postcolonial literature at Leeds Beckett university in England, claimed Beatrix Potter ripped off the oral “Br’er Rabbit” folk tales told by slaves working on southern plantations. In addition, she accuses Potter of deliberately hiding the “sources” of her literary inspiration. [Tweet]

What some mainstream conservatives and pundits aren’t considering, given our bleak 2024 electoral landscape (unresolved DNC-sponsored mass mail-in voting; an open border with millions of people streaming across it; an administrative state and media complex actively colluding and working against the people) is that Trump’s era was, and probably is, the last time flyover country will ever see executive representation in Washington again. Looking ahead to 2024, we should ask, Have the voters in that overlooked region—so breezily dismissed time and time again—changed in any marked way? Are they ready to move on? If anything, they’ve become even more alienated and disgusted by the Washington establishment than they were in 2016.
