Here's a reparations thought: Ya gotta live in California $10/month on an EPT card for your lifetime OR $20/month if you don't get arrested OR $25/month if you are gainfully employed for over 25 hours per week OR no money if incarcerated/probation

They'd be better off if they quit trying to get something for nothing and spent their time and energy working hard, getting out of debt, improving their credit scores, saving for a rainy day, and buying a home. That's the road to accumulating wealth in this country.

People of every race have historically been slaves and/or victims. The Irish were held in bondage when they emigrated. Innocent Japanese citizens were interred during World War II. There are many other examples. Now 13% of the population, some who have ancestors who were held in slavery and many who do not, think they alone are entitled to rob taxpayers. So-called Black leaders have been ginning up racial animosity for decades. It’s a well paid gig.

Now who's pushing Pie in the Sky By and By? Where have the Democrats, and honestly even the Republicans delivered, other than President Trump. Democrats rule the major cities by and large and look at the cesspools they have turned them into. Democrats dominate the educational system from k-12 to the university's of the nation by and large, and what have they delivered entire generations of children especially in their cities who can neither read nor write nor do basic math. They have dominated the Justice system and we now have a two tier system of justice one for the elites and one for the masses. Why should blacks surprised that the fantasy of reparations is blowing away in the reality of a broken financial and political system.

You can take a horse to water, but can’t make it drain. If you are a black single female with children, you have college scholarships that are willing to be given to you all over the place it’s people like her that push for idiomatic ideas like this that causes racism. Such demands rightfully so produce racism and I hate to say it.

"Black families have been unable to accumulate wealth through property ownership and higher education. Black boys and teenagers are still told to watch out for law enforcement, and Black businesses struggle to get loans" Whose fault is that? Not Whitey's. The opportunity has been there all along. “There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” ― Booker T. Washington

The price for ending slavery is buried in the ground. Do those that died to end slavery deserve reparations? Did the life of American Indians get better after the US goobernment place them on Reservations in God Forsaken areas? Did the Japanese Americans get a fair shake when FDR rounded them up and placed them in Concentration Camps after stealing all their possessions? Once being Irish, Italian and other European immigrants were considered subhuman. The Irish Channel was dug by Irish cause they were worthless compared to slaves and yellow fever killed hundreds of Irish. And slaves were spared. These 'victims' need to take a look at history and realized things have-not always been peachy.

Poor Pia. She will never see reparations in her lifetime. In the extremely unlikely event that the California legislature passes and the governor signs any reparations bill, a voter initiative to repeal such a shakedown will be launched. Since over 80% of Californians are not black, the repeal would pass overwhelmingly. Pia’s grievances would increase but she will forever vote for the Democrats who concocted the reparations scam to keep black people in the Party plantation.

Reparations? I'm not going to say that slavery and the slave trade were a good thing for the Africans who were enslaved, often by warring tribes, and hauled on boats to America where many died enroute. But I always remember the line that Muhammad Ali said, after taking a tour of Africa and was asked what he thought about the contintenet: "I'm sure glad my granddaddy got on that boat."

WASHINGTON — The Pentagon has overestimated the value of the weapons it has sent to Ukraine by at least $3 billion — an accounting error that could be a boon for the war effort because it will allow the Defense Department to send more weapons now without asking Congress for more money. The acknowledgment Thursday comes at a time when Pentagon is under increased pressure by Congress to show accountability for the billions of dollars it has sent in weapons, ammunition and equipment to Ukraine and as some lawmakers question whether that level of support should continue.
