Leaked intelligence documents from the Pentagon have made their way to the internet, and they expose just how deeply the U.S. has penetrated Russian security and intelligence services. The source of the documents remains unknown.
The New York Times reports:
The documents portray a battered Russian military that is struggling in its war in Ukraine and a military apparatus that is deeply compromised. They contain daily real-time warnings to American intelligence agencies on the timing of Moscow’s strikes and even its specific targets. Such intelligence has allowed the United States to pass on to Ukraine crucial information on how to defend itself.

The leak(s) reportedly contain a document dated as recently as March 1st. The leaks were published, discussed and shared on gamer social media (a Minecraft Discord) about a week later (and may be on other sites earlier.) Meaning, it's been percolating on social media for a month. Meaning, it's been known to national and private security services for a month. Certainly known to the Russians.
The Wall Street Journal's Evan Gershkovich was snatched from dinner at a Russian steakhouse by the Russian FSB on March 29, creating an ongoing major international incident.

The US should not be involved any more than peace negotiator. From blowing up pipelines to sharing inteligence the ends up killing Russian Generals and large amounts of Russian troops is a bad idea. A new report is out that Biden and NATO were planning this from the get-go. Russia is not like Libya or Egypt. Russia has a large supply of NUCLEAR bombs. The right President would have made a peace deal.

It makes me wonder why Mr. Putin doesn't just say, ''Excuse me,'' then just walk away. If things are that bleak, take a long walk on a short pier. Invite another leader and family to go walking with him. Surely the Tsar-man isn't worried about losing face now!

It is very likely that really sloppy opsec is the cause of this, rather than some top adviser to Putin being a spy. When I worked in the classified world, opsec was trained into us several times a year.
What is "opsec", you may ask? Operational security, a very broad name for making certain that the dozens of tiny ways that bits and pieces of information can leak out are just not happening. If lots of "unclassified" information is known, by slack opsec, these many bits and pieces can be put together into an understanding of what units are going where, how many casualties they took, how they may move, etc.
And finally - the tall pole in this tent - unsecured comms. The Russians do not seem to have much in the way of secure comms on the frontline areas, frequently using cell phones to communicate between various units. And I will guarantee that ALL cell and text traffic is intercepted and dissected for useful military information.
Given how massively incompetent the Russian troops and leadership have been in all the other aspects of this war, my bet is that we don't actually need much in the way of spies in high places. And the occasional spy in low places, or idiot talking to his girlfriend on his cell is just as good, maybe better.

It will work out ok after Putin murders any and all of our operatives Biden will declare it a victory, no one will be held accountable and in a report they write up next year they will declare it was all Trumps fault.

Color me sceptical. Our intelligence agencies are so good that they have thoroughly infiltrated Russia, but do incompetent that they can't keep it a secret?? I'm thinking intentional "leak" of doctored documents.
Look!!!!!! A squirrel!!!

The same intelligence agencies which told us Russia would conquer Ukraine in 3 days? The same intelligence agenies whose former leaders told us huncher's laptop was Russian disinformation....???

If it’s a leak to the NYT, it’s intentional, it’s from the government, and it’s pys ops. Pay no mind.

Credible reports that I have read portray the leaked documents as revealing that the US is the aggressor and is intricately involved in a losing conflict. The smart money says Russia obtained and leaked the documents.

Very good question, #1.
Spying on each other's spies has been the norm. All sides know it. But leaking the strategic plans, that borders on --no-- that is treasonous.
Now, on the bright side, maybe Zelenskyy will detach Ukraine from our pocketbooks and go it alone (big maybe).
Biden's ineptitude (if you give him the benefit of the doubt), or his venality and traitorousness, has put not just the USA but the entire world in a state of slow burning chaos. It reminds me of the "rudderlessness" of the world between the two World Wars, "The "Dark Valley" (see a masterful work, by same title, by Piers Brendon). All the while, two of the most brutal totalitarian dictatorships consolidated maniacal controls and power.

#4, unfortunately, Putin can't just say "excuse me" and walk away.
The only thing keeping him alive is the power he holds as head of state.
