ESPN recognized Lia Thomas in a TV special dedicated to Women’s History Month, sparking outrage from female competitors who swam against the transgender-identifying man from the University of Pennsylvania.
The segment honored Thomas for being the first transgender athlete to win a NCAA Division I championship title by winning the 500 freestyle race.
“Thomas made her debut as a member of the women’s team in December 2021,” the network said in a glowing highlight, complete with uplifting instrumental music, of the student’s collegiate swimming career. Thomas was on the men’s team until sophomore year, after which he began transitioning.

As one of the head of the Five Families said (on a different matter), "That's an infamita." So now a mentally ill guy who cheats at swimming by taking on women unfairly is worthy of ESPN's special recognition for "women"? There ain't one damn cell in Will Thomas's body with an XX chromosome. Not one. He's 100% male, with equipment, and heterosexual.

This award really should have gone to Andy Kaufman (the TV star of "Taxi") for his achievements in Women's Wrestling.

Must suck to be a woman. Plus women must be pretty incompetent. A women can't even get a recognition for women sports month. It has to go to a guy. It used to be that people would give you grief if you said men were better than women in almost every way. Now the left is flat out pushing it. I'm so confused.

Hope ESPN will notify us again when this juvenile delinquent actually gets his/her period. I know he/she is looking forward to buying tampons for male gendered gals. Bufferin is a lot better for you than Midol.

Rumors are Disney's Iger may spin off ESPN later this year. Maybe he'll find some private equity outfit who will fire everyone and sell the remaining rotting entrails to a nice company from the CCP.

Allowing men to "compete" as women results in a rigged athletic competition, and robs women of their right to fair competition. Redistributing American resources to illegal aliens posing as asylum seekers is another way Dems have found to help foreign actors cheat the American people. What's with the ongoing hostility toward ordinary Americans?

As soon as someone accepts that these are anything other than mentally ill freaks, they lose all credibility on any subject. If I cared about sports I wouldn't anymore.

Re #15, I'll be he's just a sports scammer, a fraud out to "win" by any means, and this is just "a phase" that he'll drop after getting his damned publicity.
I still think that about four actually women, each with a soap on a rope could adjust his attitude to that he'd never ever step into a women's locker room. Beat this fraud until he remembers that he doesn't want to do this scam any more.

Football in the fall, that is the only ESPN I watch. Complete the games, then I click away for the rest of the year. Troy Aikman, ESPN football analyst, 18 million a year, Biden lover and dislikes USAF pre-game flyovers. Maybe too patriotic for him.

Maybe it's time for these women to break the NCAA's monopoly on women's college sports. Why can't these top athletes compete independently and post the videos on youtube? Who needs ESPN? The athletes could pick and choose who they compete against either one-on-one or against a group (maybe some ambitious high school swimmers, post-collegiate swimmers, or swimmers from non-Division I colleges). The NCAA probably has some rules surrounding this, but if they don't take any earnings from the videos, what's the problem? If done right, the videos may prove more lucrative than college tuition. They could compete anywhere they want: in an Olympic size pool, at Lake Tahoe, one of the Great Lakes, the SF Bay. I'd watch that. It's time for these women to realize that, thanks to Title IX, they have more power than they know.

And why not? Many here are too young to recall the original tranny in women's sports...Renee Richards, formerly known as born Richard Raskind. Nearly 50 years ago (s)he went to court for eligibility to compete in the women's US Tennis Open...and won her case. The US Olympic Committee complained, "there is competitive advantage for a male who has undergone a sex change surgery as a result of physical training and development as a male."
The court ruled "This person is now a female." Further, it found that requiring Richards to pass a gender test was "grossly unfair, discriminatory and inequitable, and a violation of her rights."
Richards never won a pro tournament. Some advantage. Its highest ranking was #20.
So, where has everyone been for the last 50 years?

Women's Sports needs to be called Female Sports to counteract being taken over by males claiming to be women.

And ESPN employees wonders why Disney had to lay off their employees? Go Woke Go Home Go Broke! Keep repeating the same devastating business and broadcasting mistakes and keep digging the hole deeper. Report Sports news only. Stay out of politics and stop supporting foolish social engineering policies- get back to just sports casting. Do you really know who your demographics mainly are? Likely straight men. They do not care about ‘ transgenderness’
