PORTLAND, Ore. — Policymakers for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality on Monday approved a rule that prohibits the sale of new gasoline-powered passenger vehicles in Oregon by 2035. The effort comes as Oregon plans to cut climate-warming emissions by 50% by 2035 and by 90% by 2050, The Oregonian/OregonLive reported. The transportation sector accounts for nearly 40% of greenhouse gas emissions in Oregon. It offers incentives to manufacturers to sell electric cars to community car share programs, to

Sadly, it appears that we must go ahead and fight Civil War 2 before these lie-beral idiots destroy their own states and take the rest of the country down with them!!!!! Or, preferably, just go ahead and peacefully break up the union into the lie-beral states and conservative states.
The west coast is beautiful, but it is infested with the disease of lie-beralism. That is about 100,000,000,000 times more destructive than Covid ever could have been at it's very worst...

Where are they going to get: A) batteries, B) electricity to charge them, and C) firefighters to put them out?
"the upfront costs are offset by decreased operations and maintenance costs." Until you have to replace the batteries, which can cost more than the car.
The people are idiots!

A classic case of liberal virtue signaling, in which the consequences of such a harebrained policy don't matter, only the feeling of some kind of misplaced moral superiority.

Exactly where do these ignorant fools expect the necessary infrastructure to support all these EVs to come from. Perhaps some of the ancient aliens will suddenly reappear after all the centuries to generously provide them.

Why wait. Do it now and watch your state go back to medieval times. I really want to see them try to cope and watch the disaster. I figure my gas powered Camry will be worth a hundred grand when these morons run out of power. There is a huge storm about to hit theNortheast Christmas weekend. I hope they have a wood stove or we will see people actually freeze to death.

I am looking for investors in a start up company I am forming to begin the manufacturer and sales of horse buggies for the States of Communist Death Democrat ruled California and Oregon. Our company would start selling these buggies out of abandoned car dealerships starting in 2035. Please let me know if you are interested in investing in this exciting opportunity to return these states to a peaceful and very short life span in a Communist Feudal Medieval civilization.
Of course someone else will have to supply the horses.

Remember when governments actually tried to make their constituents more prosperous and successful? This new thing of wiping out economies, savings and retirements is something enemies do. We are governed by enemies.

Take away all gas powered vehicles from Oregon State government and
demand only State employees use covered wagons. They need to have the citizens
ram the consequences of their demands down their throat.

Hey this tried and true technology that really works, ...
let's replace it with something that doesn't quite work right yet
and without building the power resources it will need.
And, as a bonus, we will mandate that the manufacturers have to help the low-income BiPocs.
Presto. All the world's problems solved.

By 2035 solely (not solar) battery powered cars will likely be a near forgotten dream, or nightmare. Although possibly there will be low powered battery cars charged by solar power electricity. That sounds logical and doable.
