Ron DeSantis is now beating Trump AND
Biden: Florida governor's popularity surges
as Republican support for a Donald 2024
run collapses, poll shows

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is fast emerging as a top 2024 presidential contender capable of beating both Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, an early election poll suggested on Tuesday.  The new USA Today/Suffolk University survey shows that a majority of GOP voters want Trump to pass the torch to the 44-year-old Republican governor - despite having declared his own third White House campaign last month. And while the ex-president trails Biden in a theoretical head-to-head rematch, DeSantis holds a narrow lead over the Democrat of about four points.

Phase one of the Dem/RINO plan is shaping up nicely: drive Trump's re-election chances into the mud by propping up potential opponents and giving DT no air. Once that is done to their satisfaction, all guns will turn on DeSantis

Two leftist hack "news" organs (Daily Mail, USA Today) are both running the same story. That raises suspicions right there. That being said, I don't think Trump would win the general in '24. I truly believe there is so much Trump hatred that people would vote for his socialist opponent just to keep him out of the WH, even if they know deep down that having the socialists in charge is not a good idea. Trump did a great job and he should still be in office, but there were enough Trump haters in the pubbie party that they did not want to seriously investigate the numerous allegations of fraud in 2020. They won't change their ways in '24 either.

At my age my main goad is to make it to 2024. If I do I will vote for who ever (or is it whom ever) is the nominee of the GOP. Am ambivalent about the choice between President Trump and Ron DeSantis. PT is easily the best president of my lifetime. But he is no spring chicken. And I saw some of the lines of voters in 2020 and some of them hate PT as much as I love him. The main goal is to win. Not to make a valiant effort like Barry Goldwater. I just don't know.

Sorry guys (I'll start this by saying I was/am a broken glass crawling Trump guy) but, Trump has made a lot of unforced errors. DeSantis has just announced that he's trying to get a grand jury to investigate the pharmaceutical companies and their Covid concoctions. He's made REAL changes in FL. NOT just talked about it. If Trump would show just a modicum of contrition ie. staffing choices/Fauci/not understanding the new ground game, to name a few. It would go a LONG way in reassuring people that he learned from last time. Plus he's old. I constantly lambast all politicians that have to be dragged out feet first. Feel free to enjoy the last years of your life. Look back fondly on your sizable accomplishments. Let the next generation have it's turn.

Ron DeSantis is by far the better candidate than DJT. He much more articulate and he knows how to select the right people to serve with him. Trump rambles on and is unable to make concise and compelling arguments to support his positions. He also brought in many people who ended up sabotaging him from within because they did not agree with his policies. If only he had learned the lesson of the story of the woman and the spider.

Unfortunately, and unless these Twitter files, and the subsequent House investigations regarding Russia, Russia, Russia and the two impeachment shams, clearly show President Trump had no involvement, he is now branded by the Democrats in a very negative light. Trump knows all about branding too. He should be okay with simply getting his name cleared and be happy with what Rush used to say, "See, I told you so" outcome. Stay behind the scene and be a power broker, but not the headliner any longer. I told my wife when he came down that escalator and declared his candidacy, that he was going to be challenged in every way because he actually wanted to fix things, not just talk about the problems like so many politicians and bureaucrats want to do. You simply can't challenge the system like that, as it has major push-back, until you have BIG majorities. Heck, just read how Obama passed a law to allow the government to propagandize in a lawful way. I did not recall that happening. You want to use the "power of the purse", then you'll need to get off of the 15 years of CR's and Omnibus budgets, and return to General Order, but no one seems to have a desire for that anymore.

As soon as they can eliminate Trump, they will give full attention to DeSantis or whoever the R candidate is and proceed to slander, libel, and otherwise destroy the new R candidate. The plan to divide the Republican Party is working. If DeSantis were for a united party, he would put his ego aside and go full in for Trump. If there were no Trump, it would be back to the old "Pay to Play" game that has been in vogue for more years than I care to remember, and that's a lot of years! I can't help but think that a lot of the animus directed at Trump was precisely due to him not being owned. That said, he's been begging for cash, everyday, multiple times a day from supporters. It got so bad that I had to uunsubsidized. He raised 10's or hundreds of millions and didn't use it to help his own candidates in the mid-terms. I expect that DeSantis poll numbers are rising. He's been an excellent governor. And he doesn't make stupid statements. Like suspend the constitution. He doesn't do dinner with nei-nazis, and he can tear down the press without resorting to childish name calling. Frankly, Trumps biggest problem is himself.

The trip spanned August 29 through the following Monday, Labor Day, a statement by the Department of Transportation to DailyMail.com confirms.  A spokesperson for the department said he was 'traveling on personal time' but remained 'engaged on urgent issues.'  They said the trip had been 'long planned' in advance.  It was reported earlier this week that Buttigieg took at least 18 flights on taxpayer-funded private jets since joining the Cabinet, despite leading calls to cut CO2 emissions.

In a so-called “documentary” from daughter Alexandra Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked a question many Americans have likely answered under their breath or in the privacy of their living room while watching the news or various political events — like the State of the Union. “Am I a b****?” asked the 82-year-old Democrat, during a call with then-Vice President Mike Pence. The question was part of a scene in a glowing film Alexandra is making of her mother, “Pelosi in the House,” according to footage reviewed by Politico Playbook — the film aired Tuesday night on HBO. Talk about bias, Politico may have tipped its hand a bit while setting the scene:

Oregon governor Kate Brown said Tuesday that the state’s 17 death-row inmates will be spared execution and will instead have their sentences downgraded to life in prison without the possibility of parole. “I have long believed that justice is not advanced by taking a life, and the state should not be in the business of executing people — even if a terrible crime placed them in prison,” the outgoing Democratic governor said in a statement. She added: “This commutation is not based on any rehabilitative efforts by the individuals on death row. Instead, it reflects the recognition that the death penalty is immoral. It is an irreversible punishment

President Joe Biden has reportedly resorted to expletives when he became frustrated at the discourse around his age, as Democrats continue to speculate if he can run for re-election in 2024.  Biden, who turned 80 in November, would be 82 years old if he wins and takes office in 2025. He is already the oldest man ever elected president of the United States.  Though he was prone to gaffes long before he became president, he has given some reason for concern as he occupies the Oval Office. Some of the more worrisome mistakes have included Biden repeating that his son Beau, who died of cancer, perished while serving in Iraq;

The Washington Post Guild went into Wednesday’s town hall with a plan Anticipating that publisher Fred Ryan wasn’t going to take live questions—he wasn’t so happy the last time he was publicly confronted by a staffer in such a forum—they’d crowd-sourced a list of questions in advance and got more than 70 staffers to send a version of these questions to HR, according to a member of the Guild.
