The Washington Post Guild went into Wednesday’s town hall with a plan Anticipating that publisher Fred Ryan wasn’t going to take live questions—he wasn’t so happy the last time he was publicly confronted by a staffer in such a forum—they’d crowd-sourced a list of questions in advance and got more than 70 staffers to send a version of these questions to HR, according to a member of the Guild. The Guild had 10 designated questioners who would pop up during the Q&A portion of Wednesday’s town hall. But when that time came, after an hour-plus meeting of presentations for various initiatives, like the Post’s climate coverage and David Shipley’s plans

Several things going on here aside from their virulent, lying partisanship. The costs of printing and distributing a print edition are becoming a losing proposition for newspapers. They can thank their love of Biden and the left for rampant inflation that’s driving up the cost of newsprint, ink, labor and everything else they buy. Digital editions may keep some alive but I am afraid that one day soon holding a real newspaper in our hands will be a thing of the past. Not that I care one whit if the WAPO rag goes under.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reportedly removed statistics on defensive gun use in the U.S. following pressure from gun control advocates. The stats sourced from a CDC-commissioned study finding that instances of defensive gun use occur between 60,000 and 2.5 million times per year. References to that study were deleted from the site following private meetings with gun control advocates in 2021, emails obtained and published by The Reload show. Former National Economic Council director Larry Summers said Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andre a Mitchell Reports” that the U.S. economy will have a recession. Summer said, “I think the market is expecting, and I think that the market is probably right that inflation will come down from its current levels. There is still a question of whether it will stay down and how much we have to do to make sure that it stays down, I think it’s still a question. And whether it can be brought down to stay down without a recession is a very large question.” He continued, “My guess is that the Fed will, in the end

Perhaps Warren’s boss, Joe Biden, should have thought about that before pouring $5 trillion into the economy, And it’s not only Powell who thinks this is “one way to help bring down inflation.” It’s every

Biden held a U.S./Africa summit, and he decided that this was a fine time to shower the continent with some good ol’ American dollars. Because the history of foreign aid investments in Africa has been one of unlimited success, it apparently it’s time to pour more good money after bad.

After outcry from conservatives and Republican lawmakers who weren't willing to betray the GOP's commitment to the rule of law, legal immigration, and border security, an attempt to grant mass amnesty to DACA beneficiaries is, according to reporting on Wednesday night, dead. Unsurprisingly, the fatally flawed legislative framework that was supposed to gin up support on both sides of the political aisle in the U.S. Senate did exactly the opposite as Republicans who limped across the midterm election finish line with barely a majority in the House and a loss in the Senate were not ready to hitch their names to a bill that was toxic among Republican voters.

Back in 2010, RNC Chair Michael Steele was heavily criticized and eventually lost his position because donors were angry about what they believed was luxurious spending on private jets, floral arrangements, chauffeur services, and member meetings in expensive tropical locales. Over the weekend, a massive caravan of more than 5,000 crossed the southern border in what is described as “a stunning surge that shocked immigration agents, neighboring towns, and state officials.” Where will these illegals end up? Most likely, everywhere inside the U.S., courtesy of several non-profit groups that are working with the Biden administration in an under-the-radar mass resettlement effort. An investigation by the Heritage Foundation tracked more than 30,000 cell phones that arrived at Customs and Border Control facilities or dozens of non-profits at or near the southern border in January 2022.
