Sam Bankman-Fried, the owner of the failed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has been denied bail after his arrest in the Bahamas at the request of the U.S. government on Monday. In a hearing that lasted more than three hours on Tuesday, Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt ruled that Bankman-Fried’s $250,000 bail request would be denied on the basis that Bankman-Fried poses a flight risk because of his access to financial resources. The judge ordered the 30-year-old to be remanded to a Bahamas correctional facility until Feb. 8, 2023.

Nassau's Fox Hill prison is presently SBF's domicile. Reportedly, there is no worse place to be in the Caribbean, including Castro's pits of doom. The vegan crypto-swindler is fighting extradition to New York City's posh MCC (Metropolitan Correctional Center), where Jeffrey met his Epstein. Being held on no bail at Fox Hill will test this manly guy's manliness. (How much Robert Mitchum has he got inside? Where he is, it might matter.) Here's betting he stops fighting extradition when he's fought off enough "horrible splendor of desire" (Yeats's words) from other residents of his spotless new Bahamian home. He has bought his ticket to the good life, although prison kitchen won't honor his alleged vegan diet (he's quite obese for a vegan, don't you think?), and jail cots aren't beanbag beds. Life's tough.

It's really tough when one has to go to Yale. I mean jail. SBF is, like Madoff, a criminal who stole and misappropriated billions of dollars. He who takes what isn't his'n pays it back or goes to pris'n. And what are they going to do with his borgias--gorgeous--girlfriend? She was the financial whiz behind the whole operation, as impressive as Cleopatra to some stupexes like Larry David who can't see or think too well. How did anyone take these goobers seriously? And where was the (useless) Securities and Exchange Commission? (Doing the same thing they were doing while Madoff operated, no doubt.)

This afternoon the legacy media reported what what had long been whispered by those truly familiar with the underside of Bahamas: that Fox Hill prison on New Providence Island is still heavily infested with cockroaches, rats, and maggots. Reports state that SBF is ensconced in Fox Hill until early February, at least. Then he's got the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Cell at NYC's Metropolitan Correctional Center to look forward to. His life has become a sickening filthy sandwich, and he's going to have to eat the whole thing.

Just as Biden and many of the Democrats who benefited from campaign contributions of over 40 million dollars from Sam Bankman-Fried before the midterm election, did not want him to testify before a congressional committee where he would have been asked questions for hours by adverse Republicans, by having him arrested in the Bahamas the night before he was to testify; those Democrats are not about to leave him in the Fox Hill prison for very long, will get Bankman-Fried extradicted to the USA, where he will be released from custody, and will then probably disappear to Israel to live happily ever after with hundreds of million dollars of his ill gotten gains.

Over the past two years of his presidency, Joe Biden has completely reshaped American foreign policy in the Middle East — and the consequences have been predictably dreadful. On Friday, Chinese dictator Xi Jinping and Saudi Arabia’s crown prince and de-facto leader Mohammed bin Salman signed a series of economic agreements totaling $50 billion, marking a major step in the countries’ growing relations. According to a joint statement released after Xi’s multi-day visit to the kingdom, the two countries have agreed to enhance collaboration on a wide range of issues vital to their respective economic and security interests, including energy, trade, and terrorism, among others.

Yes, the headline isn’t really fair to Thom Tillis, the North Carolina Republican senator who wasn’t on the ballot in last month’s midterms. You’ll forgive the unfairness, perhaps. But life isn’t fair. And honestly, Tillis’ lame-duck-session amnesty gambit is deserving of much worse than the headline above. Here’s Stephen Kruiser at PJ Media: One of the more frustrating aspects of being a conservative Republican is the constant need to look over one’s shoulder for stealth attacks by moderate squish members of the GOP on important issues like health care, gun control, and amnesty for illegal immigrants. Such ideological shivs in the back always arrive under the execrable guise of bipartisanship.
