The House of Representatives passed legislation with bipartisan support on Thursday that would codify same-sex marriage protections.
Lawmakers voted to enact the bill 258 to 169, with 39 Republicans breaking with their party to join 219 Democrats on the motion. Last month, the bill cleared the Senate, with moderate Republicans Senators Susan Collins, Rob Portman, and Thom Tillis reaching across the aisle to provide the necessary GOP votes. The measure now goes to President Biden’s desk for final approval.
Many Republicans objected to the Respect for Marriage Act on the grounds that it lacked sufficient provisions

If you have a wife named Sarah and three men approach today... prepare a fatted calf for them, eat under terebinth tree with them... and as two of the men leave to the various cities in America, bargain with the One left with you and start asking, ""Would You destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were 50 righteous within America; would You destroy the place and not spare it for the 50 righteous that were in it?" Let's not take any chances right now as America continues to: Slouch Towards Gomorrah.

It wasn't enough that we kill the unborn by aborting them, now we give God the middle finger on marriage. We deserve what is coming.
Pray, a lot.;.

One thing is almost certain, you will never see 39 Democrats in the House of Representatives ever cross the aisle to support any sort of conservative or wimpy Republican bill!

31 trillion in federal debt, 93 trillion in total US debt. Let's work on gay rights instead! Great distraction. Nothing new here. Yet we persist in electing these people so who is to blame? Kiss your 'representative' government goodbye folks. Probably for the best. Stop covering up what we truly are.

Please explain to me just one benefit of voting for Republicans. Just one. Every single time, they betray us. To cross the aisle to vote with democrats for anything at this point in our history is unconscionable. After what they have done to this country they should be treated as the pariahs they are. It’s as if half the country is irrelevant and has zero representation. Furthermore, the country is barreling down the road to perdition and this is what these fools believe is a pressing issue that the majority of Americans want addressed? As an old preacher was fond of saying, If God does not judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

This has nothing to do with protecting same-sex marriage, and everything to do with taking away religious rights. Now churches can be sued if they're not willing to provide same-sex marriage ceremonies that go against their beliefs. I'll give it a month before it begins.

11, none. There are zero benefits to voting for Republican candidates and never was.
Vote for conservative candidates. That matters. Clean elections matter. Everything is noise until we get clean elections so we can elect conservatives.

#11, if you read Romans 1, you'll see what is happening in our country is a sign that God IS judging us.

House passes Same Sex Marriage Bill with Support of 39 Low Life Turncoat Republicans...there, I fixed the headline....and the same 'moderate' turncoats came across the aisle...wonder if anyone is watching their bank accounts in the Caymans...

#6 Thanks for the list. Glad to see none from Louisiana.
#11 I totally agree, and this is why I take no comfort in a slim majority in the house.
#17 Voting for the lesser of two evils has not served us well. We have ended up with an evil congress with both Ds and Rs by their name.

I’m not the least bit surprised that my congresswoman, Nancy Mace, voted for this. I voted against her in the primaries but had to hold my nose and vote for her in the general. She’s slightly better than the demonrat who ran against her but I’m thoroughly disgusted by her.
