Military Horses Are Mysteriously Dying

Original Article

A total of four US military horses in the Army’s Old Guard, have mysteriously died since February of this year. The string of deaths of horses belonging to the Army’s 3rd regiment, commonly known as the Army’s Old Guard, has now garnered an internal investigation regarding the horses’ death. Per the Military, the first deaths came in February when two horses died within 96 hours of each other.

Comments:

Apparently all of the army is made up of city folk who don't have a clue how to feed horses. You can't just throw their feed on gravel. They will accidentally eat some gravel. One horse was found to have 40 pounds of gravel in its digestive tract. Infuriating!

40 pounds of gravel. Simple question - are they even getting psyllium in their diet?

Their stable and facilities are "Palatial", pristine, heavily staffed, and highly polished. ALL of the horses were once Black, and black only...in 1981 10 Lippizans were donated, that is the "White Team". Retiring/washed out horses are available for adoption regularly, they tend to be Tall...17hands, and used to "walking", not fast or fancy yeehah stuff. Though they are trained to both saddle and harness, and are used to a LOT of attention, daily bathing, grooming, parade crowds, flashbulbs, strange noises/sights, blowing garbage, paved roads. want one???:https://www.oldguard.mdw.army.mil/specialty-platoons/caisson/available-horses

OP, virtually everybody is a "city folk" these days. I seriously doubt they feed the horses by throwing their food on the ground. I have met some members of the Old Guard horse detachments and they are hard-a55es when it comes to their mission, which includes the horses and themselves. You do remember that the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers are also members of the Old Guard? Based on military purchasing restrictions (usually government-mandated, such as lowest cost, minority-owned business, can't consistently buy from the same source), my thought is they are forced to buy sub-standard feed and it is being cut with "filler." Another thought, do horses develop pica? It would seem cribbing would be a form of that. (I, too, "cribbed" when I was a baby. We had the teethmarks on the crib to prove it.)

The controversial zero bail policy in Los Angeles has been reinstated on the grounds that it violates the suspects’ constitutional rights. Who among us could have guessed a few years back that today gender ideology would be the clearest, most divisive matter of contention separating the American left from the right? To those reasonably grounded in reality, the notion that gender is fluid, that a Supreme Court Justice would be unable to define the word “woman,” that men can give birth, and that children can and should be mutilated if they are confused about their own gender identity is not only sheer lunacy, it is barbaric.

One of the most maddening things about modern culture is the whole issue of pronouns. At the very least, it’s annoying that some people trumpet their pronouns, choosing to base their identity on how people address them when talking about them behind their backs. But it’s even worse the way some people freak out over people using the wrong pronouns as if other people have nothing better to do than keep up with what everybody’s pronouns are at any given moment. Prounoun obsession is the ultimate form of narcissism; it’s entirely self-focused to think that everyone should bend to the whim of what you want to call yourself.
