Some of my earliest memories are from a grocery store.
My mother, and later her sister, worked at a locally owned Key Market running the deli department. Baked goods, hot meals, sliced meats and fresh salads, and the best donuts you ever tasted made from scratch every day — it was a kid’s paradise. She would sometimes take me to work on Saturdays, and I’d help, doing everything but slicing the meat (age-restricted because it’s dangerous). It was fun for me, and I learned things I would not have learned watching cartoons.

People tend to assume history moves in a straight line. Atrocities like genocide and slavery are confined to the distant past as progress marches permanently forward.
But that simply cannot be the case. “The line separating good and evil passes … through all human hearts,” as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn reminds us.
The battle for justice is ever ongoing: replete with setbacks, contradictions, and disappointments. Human beings are never beyond acts of evil, and so regimes are never unfailingly noble.
Americans are often guilty of progressive assumptions when it comes to our own story.

Former White House COVID Task Force Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx threw Fauci under the bus after the former NIAID director refused to answer questions during last week’s senate hearing.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former NIAID director and face of America’s disastrous COVID response, finally appeared under subpoena last Wednesday morning before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
After enjoying his celebrity status and appearing on all of the networks during the Covid pandemic, all of a sudden Fauci shut his mouth and refused to explain his actions.
Fauci (unlawfully) pleaded the Fifth Amendment 111 times.

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., revealed he plans to introduce articles of impeachment against a judge on Monday.
“SCOTUS made it very clear that lower courts cannot suspend TPS. Yet, an Obama-appointed judge is defying the Court and the Constitution in an attempt to subvert the will of the President," Ogles said in a statement provided to Just the News.
"This judicial activist’s obstruction of the people’s will must be stopped. Judge Burroughs must be impeached," he added.
Ogles wrote on X that U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs' decision to block Trump from ending Temporary Protected Status for Somalis was unconstitutional.

Trump's remarks were seen as a rebuke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is — quite rightly — opposed to F-35 sales to Turkey on the grounds that it could ultimately prove a direct threat to Israel's security, as well as to Cyprus and Greece, which Erdogan has repeatedly threatened.
Turkey was suspended from the multinational F-35 program during Trump's first term in 2019, after acquiring Russia's S-400 air defence system. The purchase of the S-400 also prompted US sanctions against Turkey's defence industry, imposed in 2020.
Although Turkey tested the S-400 following its delivery and has not returned it to Russia,

At the end of May, the New York State Assembly introduced Assembly Bill A11509. The proposal would permanently prohibit anyone born after December 31, 2007, from purchasing tobacco or nicotine products for the rest of their lives.
In practice, the State is claiming permanent ownership over the autonomy of part of its population. It is deciding today that these individuals will never be considered capable of making their own choices. The distinction it creates is not based on any assessment of individual responsibility or capacity. It rests solely on an arbitrary date of birth.

President Donald Trump has called for an immediate peace deal with Iran after U.S. allies made unusually vocal calls to hold off on any massive attack.
In a Saturday night Truth Social post, Trump made the announcement, while still leaving the threat of military action on the table. The USA is locked and loaded and ready to go against the Islamic Republic of Iran, at levels of Military Terror, Strength, and Power not seen since World War II," Trump said. "Despite this, we have just been asked by Iran, and other Middle Eastern Countries, to hold off any attack in —

Who caused unaffordability?
Fear about “affordability” supposedly fueled the new, strident socialism.
Yet annual inflation during former President Joe Biden’s four years averaged almost 5%. It peaked at over 9%, while prices for some key staples rose by 30% over his tenure—all to silence from the Left. (By contrast, annual inflation during Trump’s first term averaged 1.9%. In his second term, it averaged 2.6% in 2025—and may rise to 4.5% in 2026, given the war with Iran.)
The socialists were not just quiet during Biden’s four years; they were themselves responsible for the rampant Biden inflation. They had implemented an inflationary de facto third Obama term,

The Department of Homeland Security announced the addition of 43 companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List, marking what officials described as the largest single expansion of the list since the law took effect.
DHS, acting on behalf of the Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force, said the additions will bring the total number of listed entities to 187, a 30% increase. The department also announced technical updates to the official names of two entities already on the list, according to a July 31 announcement.

With bi-partisan support, the Republican Congress passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act back in June and the measure has now become law. While the bill includes some good provisions like preventing large institutional investors from gobbling up single family homes, the legislation is chock full of provisions for developers and assistance to produce more allegedly “affordable housing.” The president and Members of Congress are right to acknowledge the real challenges younger Americans are facing in their attempts to achieve lifestyles similar to, if not better than, those of their parents’ generation.

For years, Washington let a critical federal healthcare program morph into something Congress never intended. What began as a lifeline for vulnerable patients has slowly become a multibillion-dollar windfall for powerful hospitals, with too little transparency, too little accountability, and far too many opportunities for abuse. Politicians ignored the warning signs for far too long. President Donald Trump is finally doing something about it. This week, the Trump administration unveiled a pilot program to modernize the 340B Drug Pricing Program — a commonsense reform that replaces automatic upfront discounts for hospitals with a rebate model for a limited number of drugs. The objective is simple:
