Third Worldism motivated Mamdani's threat

Zohran Mamdani spent 18 months promising New Yorkers that he would arrest a foreign head of government. On Tuesday night, he admitted that he cannot. But it is hard to believe Mamdani did not know all along the promise was legally untenable. He made it anyway because its real purpose was not enforcement but delegitimization — to put Israel and the U.S.-led international order on the docket. His administration reviewed every avenue available under applicable law and found no independent authority to enforce the International Criminal Court’s warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The SPLC’s ‘Hate Map’ Is Still Used

The Southern Poverty Law Center’s descent from its once-vaunted role as a sentinel against extremism has been precipitous and ironic. An organization whose “hate map” promiscuously equates parental rights groups such as Moms for Liberty with neo-Nazi organizations now stands indicted by the Department of Justice on charges of wire fraud, false statements, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Federal prosecutors allege that, between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC secretly funneled millions of donor dollars—more than $4 million by some accounts—to individuals associated with the very groups it professed to combat, including the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations, and National Socialist outfits.

The federal government continues to lose an estimated $233 billion to $521 billion each year to fraud, while most agencies overseeing the nation's largest federally funded programs have yet to implement one of the Government Accountability Office's top recommendations for preventing those losses, according to a new GAO report. The report, Managing Risks in Federally Funded, State-Administered Programs, reviewed the 20 largest federally funded, state-administered programs, which accounted for approximately $1.1 trillion in federal obligations in fiscal year 2025. The GAO found in the report released Thursday that most agencies have not completed documented fraud risk assessments.

Former Maine state lawmaker and logger Troy Jackson won the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate on Saturday, setting up a November showdown with longtime Republican Sen. Susan Collins in a race that could play a key role in determining control of the Senate. Jackson was selected after Democrat Graham Platner, who won the party’s June primary, withdrew from the race earlier this month following a sexual assault allegation that he has denied. Maine Democrats gathered Saturday to choose a new nominee to take on Collins in the general election.

Amid celebrations of our nation’s 250th birthday, Gallup serves up a sobering portrait of general dissatisfaction with our nation’s core institutions. “Confidence in U.S. institutions Remains Near All-Time Low,” reports Gallup. Of 14 core institutions—banks, big business, labor, the presidency, Congress, schools, health care, etc.—only 27% say they have “a great deal/quite a lot of confidence,” one point above the all-time low for this average. In 1979, the percentage expressing “a great deal/quite a lot of confidence” in these 14 core institutions stood at 48%. One explanation is the double-edged sword of the growth of government. More government means more inefficiency.

City Jewish leaders Friday demanded Mayor Zohran Mamdani “stop fanning the flames of hatred and division” after a nut stabbed a religious man in a suspected antisemitic hate crime on the Upper West Side — but Hizzoner offered nothing more than a canned tepid response. Raul Morales, 51, allegedly yelled “Allahu Akbar!” as he attacked the two victims — Moshe Yezhak Grunhaus, a 50-year-old Jewish man, and Chok Sung, a 57-year-old Asian man — in vicious separate attacks blocks from Central Park and minutes apart Thursday afternoon, police said. “We’re horrified and heartbroken by yesterday’s attacks. But to be clear, we’re no longer surprised,”

Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Economic Development Corporation admitted this week that his city-owned grocery stores “might not have all the items” you’d find in a typical supermarket. The five stores — which are expected to cost taxpayers upwards of $70 million — will likely not include hot food counters or butchers, EDC officials revealed during a board meeting Thursday. “It may not have all the items, but it’s going to be like a typical grocery store,” insisted Jeanny Pak, interim CEO of the EDC, the powerful city-run nonprofit tasked with boosting economic growth and development. Pak also echoed Mamdani’s assertion that only certain items in the stores would be discounted.

Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, registered her consulting company at a Minnesota residence connected through business records to several major figures in the Feeding Our Future operation, according to an investigation by The Daily Wire. Noor founded Grit Partners Consulting, a health and leadership consultancy focused largely on projects in Africa.

Twenty-five states, with the help of a Department of Homeland Security database, have identified hundreds of thousands of dead people and noncitizens registered to vote, and they haven’t finished counting yet. So far, just 10 states—including key battlegrounds Georgia and North Carolina—have fully processed the voter data through the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements, or SAVE, database. SAVE is primarily used by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to verify eligibility for government benefits. The Trump administration made it available to states to cross-reference voter registration data.

California’s Medi-Cal crisis has left taxpayers paying for fraud, waste, and abuse. The Pacific Research Institute released a study this week breaking down how taxpayers are paying for “a program that has grown beyond the state’s ability to effectively manage it.” The findings come as the Trump administration announced on July 21 that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is pausing over $860 million in funding to California after federal officials discovered in-home supportive services claims that significantly exceeded national trends. Sally Pipes, the institute’s president, told the Daily Signal that rooting out fraud should be lawmakers’ top priority. “If lawmakers could make only one thing happen this year,

The goal is to build and expand pipeline networks that would allow countries like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Iraq to bypass the traditional—

Washington — President Trump on Friday ordered federal officials to install signs outside the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History that correct what he says is "inaccurate" information presented by the institution about American history. Mr. Trump's directive cited a 162-page White House report released on July 4 that accused the museum of adopting "an ideological framework that no longer treats the American story as a shared national inheritance to be taught or celebrated, but as a political instrument to divide, dispirit, and discourage our citizens." The report, titled "Saving America's Story," demonstrates that Smithsonian leadership views "American history as a 'prime tool' to advance ideas of social justice
