Mamdani's Zombie Apartment Nightmare

Original Article

New York City has roughly 57,000 vacant rent-stabilized "zombie apartments," many of which landlords say cost more to repair and maintain than they could legally recover in rent. To illustrate the growing problem, a group of small property owners had actors dressed as zombies march outside a Rent Guidelines Board hearing in mid-June, warning that rising taxes, insurance, utilities, unpaid rent, and court delays are pushing their buildings toward insolvency. The board responded by approving a zero-percent rent increase, delivering on socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani's campaign promise to freeze rents while doing nothing to reduce landlords' underlying costs.

Mamdani pandering to the Gimme-Dats. Deliberate destruction of Noo Yawk. So.... will the city confiscate the buildings and finish running them into the ground? Another example that the Leftists destroy everything that they touch. I understand that native New Yorkers voted about 60% for the other mayoral candidate. It was the foreigners who voted in Mamdani. Political Power gained through population replacement is not a 'Conspiracy Theory'. It is a FACT.

It seems improbable they are unaware of the way this works out for landlords, and more likely intentional, shadow-forcing the smaller guys out.

Obama Center isn't a traditional presidential

Don't call it a library. The $1 billion Obama Presidential Center opened with huge fanfare last week in a park near the shore of Lake Michigan, but critics say what the public thinks is a library will function as the headquarters of Barack Obama’s private foundation, promoting the 44th president's left-wing worldview to future generations. (snip)The sprawling 19.3-acre campus will host various leadership programs, while spaces there include a "Democracy in Action Lab," conference facilities, foundation offices and a major athletic complex designed for youth sports and community programs — features not typically associated with a presidential library.

I have not written about the recent events in/around Ukraine because none of it makes sense and all of the information flows through the prism of ‘western’ intelligence propaganda. According to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy {SEE HERE}, he has removed and replaced the entire leadership apparatus of the Ukraine military. This follows his removal of 35-year-old Mykhailo Fedorov from the defense ministry last week {CITATION} that led to massive protests against Zelenskyy and armed forces Chief Gen. Oleksandr Syrskiy, who was also eventually replaced.

The U.S. Department of Justice has come to terms with the state of South Carolina to make sure uniformed and overseas voters receive absentee ballots in advance of a rapidly approaching special election following the recent death of incumbent Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, according to a DOJ memo exclusively obtained by The Federalist. DOJ officials have signed the Memorandum of Agreement with Conway Belangia, executive director of the South Carolina State Election Commission, and the agreement is expected to bring the state into compliance with the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act. UOCAVA stipulates election officials must send “validly-requested absentee ballots

The same liberals that have railed against voter ID are now running with their hair on fire over President Donald Trump’s recent firings at the feckless Election Assistance Commission. In a short and direct email earlier this month, the White House sacked two Democrats, Thomas Hicks, who was serving as commission chairman, and Benjamin Hovland. “On behalf of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as Commissioner of the Election Assistance Commission is terminated, effective immediately. Thank you for your service,” the email advised, according to Reuters.

The USTR office has now quantified the tariff and non-tariff barriers triggered by Canada in 2025 and provided President Trump with a financial quantification of the trade impact.

A newly declassified CIA report says the Venezuelan government “could have” used voting machines to rig elections. President Donald Trump declassified a series of documents and reports related to election integrity on July 16, including a “CIA Note” entitled, “Summary of Select Intelligence Reporting From 2004-2020 on Venezuela’s Electronic Voting Manipulation Capabilities.”The note says that between 2004 and 2020, “intelligence established that Venezuelan government officials developed sustained interest and likely some capability in manipulating electronic voting systems, including Smartmatic technology, to influence electoral outcomes in Venezuela.”

A federal judge has thrown out President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against the IRS that resulted in a settlement creating a multibillion-dollar anti-weaponization fund. In doing so, U.S. District Judge Kathleen M. Williams declared that the suit “was not brought to vindicate rights; it was brought to manipulate the judicial process,” describing it as little more than a vehicle to manufacture judicial approval for an otherwise improper political arrangement. Whether one agrees with that conclusion is almost beside the point. What should concern anyone who values an impartial judiciary is how Judge Williams reached it.

The Chinese planned to stoke Black Lives Matter riots and other social unrest in 2020, using the corporate media to launder the narrative in order to tank the election for President Donald Trump, according to documents released by the White House on Thursday. Intelligence summaries from 2020, which were apparently hidden from the president at the time, show that the Chinese planned on “encouraging violent demonstrations and looting to increase the appearance of social unrest” ahead of the election, and to “exploit U.S. societal fissures and vulnerabilities,” in part by “alleging that White people hate Black people.”

In a recent counterpoint posed by Michael Smerconish against his own interests at CNN, ABC and NBC, the pundit was refreshingly honest, albeit maintaining pretense. Smerconish noted it would be “unfair to the office of the President” to present rebuttal dialogue to a speech they refused to air. (smop) The leftist media did not want to allow information to reach their sheeple viewers. So, they awaited the conclusion of President Trump’s remarks and then summarized what he said for the audience along with their rebuttal. By blocking the information from Trump, they limit and control the information to only that which they present. This is by design

She further acknowledged Tuesday about 400 of those foreigners voted in recent election despite a legal ban on foreigners voting in federal elections. The admission came less than a week after President Donald Trump gave a primetime address presenting evidence of election vulnerabilities, including hundreds of thousands of noncitizens who made it on voter rolls, spy agency concerns about voting machine security and a Chinese effort to obtain American voter data.

Salazar’s comments came as she joined Democrats to tout her “Dignidad” amnesty for at least 15 million illegal aliens, saying: Let them stay … Let them continue contributing to the number one economy in the world, so we can continue being the number one military in the world. [If] we don’t have the economy, we don’t have the guns, and we cannot defend ourselves. There is little evidence that the nation’s stock of at least 15 million illegal migrants — or of the 40 million legalized migrants

Alpha News has also learned that as part of the promotion, Adams received a $3.58/hour pay raise as his compensation rate went from $48.60/hour to $52.18. That means he’s likely now making a six-figure salary paid for by tax dollars.

Not so long ago, I suggested that Hunter Biden is testing the waters for a presidential run. I was half joking, half not, as Mr. Biden has spent an inordinate amount of time out in public and on podcasts discussing politics and other matters, despite his claims that he is not running for office. I'm not the only one who has noticed. (X) Discussion about a potential Biden run is still confined to the fringes, but Biden himself has been out and about quite a bit, appearing on podcasts, promoting his paintings, talking about addiction (ah, a redemption story!), and opining about politics. A lot of opining about politics.

President Donald Trump has threatened that the US would destroy an Iranian bridge or power plant any time its forces attack a ship in the Strait of Hormuz. Potential targets would include ones "located next to, or in," the capital Tehran, he said in a post on Truth Social. The military response would follow any form of attack on shipping in the vital waterway, "whether it be by missile, rocket, drone, or any other device or weapon". His threat follows the US launching strikes on Iran for the 11th consecutive night, with Tehran warning the US against targeting its nuclear facilities.

Thune is doing their work for them, making it plain he has no interest in taking up the continuing resolution (CR) presented by House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04).
