I Was in the DSA. Here’s What They Really Believe.

Candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) keep racking up primary victories, and skeptics and fans alike are struggling to determine what the organization actually believes. President Donald Trump says they are “communists.” (Snip)Among the DSA’s core aims are ending the presidency and Supreme Court. Abolishing prisons. Universal free housing. The elimination of all debt. I was a member of the DSA from the 2010s until 2022. During that time, I witnessed a rise in extremism, ranging from an eagerness to collaborate with Leninist groups to a growing animosity toward the U.S. and the West. My final departure was prompted by a DSA statement that attributed Russia’s aggression

Comments:

A great description of what will happen if these monsters get their way. I just don't understand how this author went from being a member of the DSA to being so clear-headed. (Though I myself went through a similar change decades ago.}

This group within the 'Rat party, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), seem more Socialist than Democratic, so they should drop the 'Democratic' part of their name. As they are a multi-state, or national party, I suggest that they should call themselves what they are, the National Socialists. The next step is to then come up with a clever one-word nickname and contraction, using, say, four letters. Gee, I wonder what they could come up with? Any ideas?

The democrat party owns this. They allowed these socialist extremists to hijack their party. Many in the democrat party are VERY upset. When this all started, I could smell Cuba. Anyone wanting this type of life style can leave and live in Cuba. NYC is falling apart. In fact it is starting to look like Cuba. By the end of Mamdani's term NYC will be a mirror image of what extreme socialism looks like.

Sometimes a swamp critter acts too smart for his own good. And so it goes with the Dishonorable Judge Jimmy the Geek Boasberg, who mocked the Department of Justice in a hearing on March 21, 2025, in which the ACLU claimed that the government violated a previous order by Boasberg not to deport 100 members of the Venezuelan gang TdA. As chief DC district judge, Boasberg took the case himself on a Saturday night despite (because of) his daughter being a lawyer and advocate for Partners for Justice, a pro-immigration group that wants to protect criminal illegal aliens (as the ACLU was doing) from deportation. Its founder spoke against Laken

My first day in El Salvador coincided with the Day of the Faithful Departed, when families gathered to remember loved ones lost — a ritual familiar to everyone but the wide-eyed toddlers after generations of violence. (Snip) I headed to a nearby cemetery. Families sat beside graves, sharing meals with the dead or repainting tombs in bright colors, until I came upon a wall of armed security. Behind it, silently paying his respects, stood President Nayib Bukele. Bukele remains controversial abroad over alleged human rights abuses, the suspension of due process, and the imprisonment of roughly one percent of the population. But nearly every Salvadoran I met adored him.

COVID-19 vaccine injures are so common many of the legislators who pushed them have also been severely injured—but still won't admit it. This culture of silence around these injuries must end. One of the things which has always fascinated me about the world is how certain invisible laws govern the “spontaneous” events that occur around us (e.g., radioactive decay).(Snip) When the COVID-19 vaccines were initially released, I had a large number of patients immediately show up with “moderate” reactions to the COVID vaccines, with many of them stating something to the effect of: “I have gotten a flu shot for years and I have never experienced anything like this.”

I started playing chess regularly about six months ago. I'm still terrible, if we're being honest, but I've been chipping away at it, and I even bought a smart chessboard to help me learn faster. Growing up, chess had a reputation as the hobby of choice for kids with broken glasses and pocket protectors. I never touched a chessboard as a kid. Now, I love it. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled on a report from Axios informing me that chess is now "young and hip." According to Axios, "The pandemic, pop culture and a wave of content creators have turned a centuries-old game into a Gen Z phenomenon."

Mayor Zohran Mamdani of New York, taking a page from communist predecessors, is moving to assure that he has a pliant, ideologically aligned press corps to serve as props for his policy initiatives. (Snip) A July 10 press conference by Mayor Mamdani, billed as "a consumer protection announcement," had the mayor announcing a crackdown that is supposed to make it easier for New Yorkers to cancel online subscriptions. That itself is an effort to starve free-market-oriented, or at least non-communist, press outlets from revenue that helps to guarantee their independence. The press conference featured lines like this: "We’re going to start with Praj at the Nation.

 Trump... gave the remnants of the regime a final chance: step back, accept restraint, and choose coexistence over confrontation. Iran failed that test.  The regime did not moderate. It returned to its usual methods: missiles, drones, threats, blackmail, and violence. Trump did not abandon diplomacy. Iran destroyed it.  The United States must send a clear message to every dictatorship watching: America may negotiate  That has now become a matter of American national security.  A dictatorial regime that publicly tolerates calls for the assassination of the president of the United States cannot be treated as just another difficult adversary. A red line has been crossed.

Bummed by the news reports about the Supreme Court as it flooded the end of June with key decisions? Don’t be. Reporters cover the courts about as well as they cover the White House, election polls and war. Let’s start with NBC’s “Supreme Court rules Trump can’t fire Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook.” Except he can. Two paragraphs underneath the headline, the story said, “In a 5-4 vote, the high court said Trump does not have the constitutional authority to fire a Fed governor without cause. While the landmark ruling limits a president’s authority over the central bank, a majority of the justices separately ruled Trump has free rein to

Scratch a Democrat, and you’ll find a communist underneath their lizard skin. Last week’s elections in New York City just confirmed what we already knew. The leftists are ascendant, and the alleged moderates — who were also leftists — are very upset. Think of this as like #MeToo. Remember that? That campaign against gropey, rapey people wasn’t really a fight about gropey, rapey people. Democrats like gropey, rapey people. Younger, primarily hard-left women just pretended not to in order to gain a political advantage over older establishment figures within the Democrat universe. #MeToo was simply about younger leftists trying to take power from older leftists.

When I lived in Israel in the early 1960s, I never saw a single “Palestinian.” Not once. Not ever. Why? Because they hadn’t been invented yet. I saw Arabs, as they called themselves, but that was it. I have newspapers from the time to prove it.(Snip) As I see so many speak about “Palestinians” as though they are a unique people with a unique culture and history and therefore deserving of a state -- taken from Israel -- I must speak up. Because the Palestinian concept did not come about organically. It was created deliberately, with the intent to destroy Israel and Jewish sovereignty.What was the impetus for its invention?

The U.S. and Iran are back to bombing every day in a bid to control the Strait of Hormuz. And neither is backing down, showing the limitations of President Donald Trump’s reliance on escalating airstrikes to bend Tehran to his will. While the Trump administration says it is open to diplomacy, Iran so far has refused to loosen its grip over the crucial oil shipping corridor in the Persian Gulf. It is raising questions about the strategy for the next phase of the conflict as intensifying attacks have collapsed an interim ceasefire deal, left additional American troops dead and sent U.S. gasoline prices back up —

For more than a decade, the state of Alaska has been trying to permanently forfeit Ken Jouppi’s $95,000 airplane after he transported a passenger carrying a six-pack of beer. Today, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to decide whether it can. For decades, Ken flew his Cessna across the Alaskan wilderness, shuttling the locals. Then, in 2012, state troopers found some Budweiser tucked in a passenger’s luggage. Ken and the passenger were charged with misdemeanors, fined $1,500 and sentenced to three days in jail. But that wasn’t enough for Alaska. For the past 14 years, the state has fought to take Ken’s plane too, as additional punishment for a passenger’s beer.
