Scandal-scarred Rep. Ilhan Omar and her hubby have gone from the penthouse to the poorhouse.
The husband of the Minnesota “Squad” firebrand — who once valued his venture capital and wine empire at up to $30 million — now claims to be pocketing as little as $200 a year.

Omar claimed the total value of the couple’s assets was between $20,000 and $125,000 for 2025, and their credit card and student-loan debt hovered between $30,000 and $100,000 — putting their net worth at negative-$80,000-$95,000, according to the report.

The Obama Presidential Center finally opened to the public on Friday (not that you care), and the verdict from the internet was swift and brutal. People are calling it a "monstrous insult to architecture," a "concrete nightmare," and simply a "monstrosity." Social media has spent the week comparing the thing to a trash can and a dystopian movie set, which, having seen the photos, feels generous.
It’s hideous.
Naturally, the man who helped design the building's most mocked feature has a different take. Chris Bird, the Washington structural engineer who designed the upper portion of the center's towering centerpiece,

Unsuccessful 2024 Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris says the word “hope” should be “changed to a verb.” One problem with that. It already is.
Hope can be used as both a noun and a verb.
Don Lemon, her host on his podcast that appeared over the weekend, did not point that out.
But those on social media, where the comment has gone viral, did as the sound bite was reposted on numerous X accounts.
“It’s a noun: ‘I have hope that she never runs for any government office again,’” one user posted to X.

A doctor told Joy Reid Friday that the recent Michelle Obama joke made at the UFC White House fight was giving her heart palpitations.
Dr. Frita Fisher, a quadruple-board-certified nephrologist and former Fox News guest, went on ex-MSNBC host Joy Reid’s YouTube show to discuss the medical threats facing black women.
When Dr. Frita first saw the viral clip of UFC fighter Josh Hockit shouting, “And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man! Am I right, America?” after his match, she told Reid that she was “personally humiliated.” “I felt my heart having palpitations. I felt my chest tighten. I felt personally humiliated

Sir Keir Starmer choked up this morning as he resigned as Labour leader and listed his ‘achievements’, setting the stage for a leadership contest and a new Prime Minister to be in place by September. The Mail has more.

Democratic socialists are making gains in mayoral races across several of the nation’s largest cities.
The latest breakthrough came in Washington, where Janeese Lewis George won the Democratic primary and is positioned to capture the mayor’s office in November in a city dominated by Democratic voters.
Lewis George campaigned on a platform that includes subsidized or free child care, expanded assistance for homebuyers, community-based anti-crime initiatives and opposition to President Donald Trump’s efforts to reshape the nation’s capital.
“People are tired of hearing what government can’t do. They want to hear what government can do,” Lewis George said before the primary election.

One look at Kyle "I'm Antifa" Wagner using every conceivable grammatical use of the F word, and one can find how getting death threats, stalking, and conspiring to harm or kill federal officers appears to be a real threat. The feds sure think so, which is why the feds rolled up tough guy Kyle "aka Kaos," in Minneapolis this week and netted him a hat trick of charges.
He's one scary and unhinged-looking dude. Wagner was charged with solicitation to commit an act of violence, interstate threats, and conspiracy stemming from last winter's Minneapolis riots, "direct actions," and violence against federal agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other

Sen. Ruben Gallego repeatedly used campaign cash to fund luxury outings with his wife and to care for his children since launching his campaign for Senate in 2023, according to a POLITICO review of campaign finance records and a person familiar with the senator’s spending.
The Arizona Democrat has used his leadership PAC to fund recent trips to Miami, Chicago, Disneyland and Disney World with his family. Gallego has tapped that PAC and his main campaign committee for more than $18,000 in reimbursements for child care since 2019 — including $400 to his wife’s mother for babysitting.
