Few predicted that blaming Israel and the Jews who support it would flare up in the early 21st century—and in America of all places, where there are nearly as many Jews as there are in Israel. After all, Israel is the only consensual society in the Middle East. It holds regular elections and maintains tripartite judicial, executive, and legislative checks and balances. Free speech is found in the Middle East only in Israel, where religious apostasy, criticism of one’s own country, gender equity, and tolerance of gays are guaranteed in marked contrast to all its neighbors. It is puzzling that Chuck U Schumer, a Jew, is on the side of the Israel haters. Once again, politics over principles.

This is a lazy defense of Israel which unfortunately mimics Al Sharpton's dismissal of opponents of affirmative action as racists. It is disappointing to see someone of Mr. Hanson's caliber lean into this tired trope when most of the current criticism of Israel relates to Israel's entirely defensible response to attacks by Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran. It should go without saying that Israel's actions and interests, like any other country's, can be supported, criticized or opposed by Americans for a variety of reasons.

Dem Infighting Heats Up As Katie Porter

Democrats have been scrambling, trying to distinguish themselves from each other in the California governor's race, but it hasn't been going well for them, especially when the top Republican candidates are both clearly better than any of the Democrats. You have to love their infighting because it shows how inappropriate all the Democrats are for the job. Former U.S. Representative Katie Porter was hard at it during an interview on CNN with Dana Bash. During that interview on CNN's "Inside Politics," Porter pointed a finger at her billionaire opponent in the race, Tom Steyer, for leaking a video of her screaming at a staffer.

Midterms are getting closer, and Republicans are going to need to go all in to show they are the better choice. Midterms historically tend to run against the party in power, so they have that deficit up front. But wins in the redistricting battle have been buoying Republican hopes. Plus, it's been quite something to watch Democrats like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) lose their minds and attack the courts when they lose. It's why they're screaming and scrambling to stop the GOP redistricting wins, even postulating nutty schemes like trying to boot the Virginia Supreme Court judges who voted in a way they didn't like.

T]here are people who suffer genuine anti-Muslim hatred, bigotry, and discrimination based on their faith or perceived identity. This must always be challenged and addressed, as it undermines pluralism and social cohesion. On the other hand, Islamist organizations have deliberately weaponized the term Islamophobia to shut down scrutiny of their ideology and political activities. By labeling criticism of Islamist ideas or networks as 'Islamophobic,' they deliberately blur the line between protecting people and protecting an ideology. This is why Islamophobia is the wrong term—it places an ideology beyond criticism rather than safeguarding individuals from hatred." — From "The Muslim Brotherhood's Strategic Entryism Into the United States:

The State Bar of Arizona (SBA) is disbarring another conservative attorney, Vlad Gagic, after he loudly objected on social media to the prosecution of one of his clients, whom he believed was innocent. Gagic told me he acted as a whistleblower, exposing systemic corruption, prosecutorial misconduct, judicial bias and political retaliation. The situation arose while Gagic was defending his former client, Jamaal Pennington, a young black man who Gagic became convinced was wrongly accused of sex trafficking and pimping. Gagic told me he uncovered and documented massive misconduct by the prosecution. When Pennington’s accuser, the key witness against him, recanted her story and said she had identified the wrong man,

Secretary of Energy Chris Wright appears on CBS Face the Nation to discuss the current status of the conflict with Iran. As supplemented by additional confirmation from President Trump, Secretary Wright notes the Iranian military apparatus has been defeated but the goal to end the Iranian nuclear ambition remains. MARGARET BRENNAN: Oh, thank you for that. President Trump said that he expected a response from Iran. He said this yesterday. Has one been received and what is the U.S. going to do with it? SEC. CHRIS WRIGHT: Not that I’m aware of, but I suspect we will get a response very soon.

You have to give it to King Charles, he does the Bertie Wooster meets Hugh Grant schtick very well. “By Jove”, he exclaimed at one point in his recent joint address to the US Congress, an exclamation that almost nobody has used in the UK since the passing of P.G. Woodhouse. But the fading Old World aristo charm only gets you so far in the New World. In all his unelected glory, Charles is a highly political Head of State as witnessed in his regular Net Zero promotion. Decades have been spent regaling his no-questions-allowed audiences with tales of impending doom.

The hantavirus-stricken HV Hondius anchored in Spain Sunday morning after the outbreak on the ship left three travelers dead and sparked global concern over a possible wider spread of the rodent-borne illness. The plagued Dutch cruise ship reached Tenerife – the Canary Islands’ largest island – around 6:30 a.m local time as more than 140 passengers and crew started to disembark from the vessel. “All the passengers remain asymptomatic,” Spain’s Health Minister Monica Garcia said during a Sunday morning news conference. “The entire operation is proceeding normally.”

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed that the shocking accident Friday night in which one individual was killed and more than a dozen more injured was the result of a deliberate trespass on the part of the dead man. Duffy’s conclusion was to warn people not to trespass at airports, because, of course, they are not prepared for random people to run suddenly across runways. But frankly, I think if someone deliberately managed to penetrate that far into an airport as a breach, and walked right out in front of an airplane in takeoff sequence, the person was either on drugs or suicidal.

Iran took an action on Friday that had a lot of people scratching their heads because it didn't make a lot of sense. They announced that they had seized a tanker.Wow, that sounds pretty bold. Except for one thing. It's a tanker, sanctioned by the U.S., carrying Iranian oil. Tehran said the tanker was "exploiting regional conditions." Their state media said the tanker had been turned over to judicial authorities. This may be one of the funniest things the Iranians have done so far. So it appears that either they seized a tanker shipping their own oil in the wake of the U.S. attacks on them on Thursday,

Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones filed a long-shot emergency petition to the Supreme Court on Monday, urging it to reinstate the voter-approved Democratic gerrymander of the state’s congressional map, which the Virginia Supreme Court struck down last week. The petition, filed on behalf of Jones and other Democratic leaders in Virginia, argued that the Virginia Supreme Court erred in ruling that an “election” in the Virginia constitution includes the early voting period, instead arguing that under federal law, an “election” refers to a singular day.

WASHINGTON — Former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas lamented the delay in immigration enforcement actions until the final year of President Biden’s term — despite having testified to Congress several times while in office that the US border was “secure.” In an appearance Tuesday at Politico’s Security Summit, Mayorkas discussed aspects of the “broken” immigration system in America, acknowledging that a “low bar” for those expressing “credible fear of persecution” allowed too many migrants into the country during the Biden administration. More than 8 million entered by the start of the 46th president’s final year in office — before Biden moved to shut down the border and crack down on illegal crossings

A high school prom celebration turned deadly after gunfire erupted at a local park, killing a teenage girl and wounding four others, according to officials. Saturah Hayes, 17, was fatally shot Friday evening in Brownsville, Tenn. — about an hour northeast of Memphis — where Haywood High School students decked out in tuxedos and dresses gathered for photographs before the big dance, police and school officials said. Four others were shot and hospitalized, according to police. It’s not clear how many of those wounded were students. The prom was cut short and the school was closed Monday to give Hayes’ classmates time to grieve, Action News 5 reported.

In 1921, Woodrow Wilson, the first of America’s four transformative progressive presidents, became the first president to remain in Washington and make the nation’s capital his permanent home after leaving office. In very mild defense of the man who did more than any other to establish the administrative state and thus pervert America’s carefully constructed constitutional design, Wilson had suffered a debilitating stroke two years prior that left him partially paralyzed and nearly blind. He died just a few years later, in 1924. Barack Obama, the nation’s fourth transformative progressive president (following Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson)
