The MSM, radical left Democrats, and progressives like Hillary Clinton, spout that we are experiencing an 'existential threat to democracy.' For example, Dr. Steven Levitsky and Lucan A. Way wrote, "U.S. democracy will likely break down during the Second Trump administration in the sense that it will cease to meet standard criteria for a liberal democracy -- full adult suffrage, free and fair elections, and broad protection of civil liberties." Hillary says, "Our democracy is in crisis..." Her claim sounds ominous, worthy of further investigation. Keep in mind that when a Democ'Rat says "Our Democracy", they are not talking about the form of government that we have in the United States. "Our Democracy" is a One Party Totalitarian State, controlled by the Powers that Be in the Democ'Rat Party, hidden behind the Green Curtain - in the same manner as 'Oz, The Great and Powerful', in the Wizard of Oz.

And Republicans in Congress and at the state and local level need to keep pointing out, as JimBob says, what Dems really mean by "our democracy." And there is no way you can negotiate with the Dems. They hate this country and We the People who don't vote for them.

A useful example of Democracy: a lynch mob. All are united in their opinion of, and action toward, a single individual; who has NO rights except what the mob is willing to afford him. These rights will consist of: being uncomfortably suspended, above ground, for an indeterminate period of time. But hey! Majority rules.

SCOTUS Tolls the Bell on Racial Gerrymandering 0 replies

This week the Supreme Court, in an opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito, ended decades of race-engineering in the drawing of congressional districts. The opinion is likely to not only benefit Republicans by increasing their representation in Congress, it also should end racial engineering in a multitude of local institutions, all to everyone’s benefit. It signals the beginning of the end for progressive governance, begun by President Woodrow Wilson (ironically a segregationist) whose vision conflicts with the Constitution. Thirty-one years ago, Justice Clarence Thomas argued that racial gerrymandering -- defended as a means for ensuring proportional electoral results according to race -- should not continue. In my view, our current practice

Graham Platner is a piece of work. You know, yesterday when I wrote about Janet Mills dropping out, I included a Xweet from someone talking about the oppo research on this clown being a possible goldmine. It hasn't taken 24 hours for the gruesome deluge to start about what a miserable fabulist this hairy beast is. One thing that caught my eye, being a veteran and having a disabled veteran for a spouse (31 years of Marine Corps wear and tear, but no war wounds, thank God), was Platner's service claims. His DD-214 has debunked the man's sea stories about being in for ten years, but I hadn't

Politicians get hit with a lot of rhetorical shots from critics. It's part of the job. Some of those shots get ignored or deflected pretty easily and others really seem to stick and dog someone for a while. I think Joe Rogan's most recent comments about Gavin Newsom might be the latter type. Here's the clip that was circulating on X: (X) Nobody wants President Newsom either. Nobody believes in that guy. The guy's a ******* con man. I mean everything he did in California from trying to madate vaccines for kids when it was totally unnecessary to being caught out in public without a mask and lying about

Leading the week’s news was the Democrats’ third failed assassination attempt against President Trump. Murder isn’t funny, but that didn’t prevent meme-makers from weighing in. The rest of the week’s news was lighter: King Charles visited America and addressed Congress, and it turned out that Democrats love kings after all. James Comey was indicted, the SPLC continued to draw fire, and Ilhan Omar displayed a remarkable grasp of world history. So here we go–The Week In Pictures, Missed Me Again Edition. This week features three pirate-related memes, which must be a record. Watch for them:
“Diversity” Is Our Weakness 5 replies
Posted by Hazymac 5/2/2026 5:59:17 AM Post Reply
The shibboleth that “diversity is our strength” is one of the worst canards of our time. There is a great deal of empirical data indicating that in general, cultural diversity is a weakness, not a strength. Culturally diverse societies (which can mean ethnically diverse, but doesn’t have to) are generally lower-trust societies, which inhibits economic growth. Western Europe is living proof of that proposition. But there is another way in which “diversity” in the DEI sense–i.e., the jerry-rigged quotas resulting from an obsession with race, sex, and sexual orientation–is bad. Maximum effectiveness, in terms of economic efficiency, combat readiness, or pretty much anything you want to measure,

Mahmoud Khalil's case is, as Dan Linnaeus explains in the X post linked below, something of a dividing line in how people think about citizenship, the right to stay in a Western country, the limits of tolerance we must have for hatred from noncitizens, and most of all over whether we should see non-Westerners as everywhere and always victims, and Westerners as oppressors who deserve whatever we get. The American left is appalled that Khalil is being deported for his arguably illegal, and certainly anti-American and antisemitic "activist" activities while a student at Columbia University. He helped organize and lead protests that led to assaults, property damage,

These days, to paraphrase Mark Twain's observation about the weather, everyone complains about extreme rhetoric and political violence, but no one does much about it. No one, perhaps, except Harmeet Dhillon. At a recent anti-ICE rally in Minneapolis, Turning Point USA observer/reporter Savanah Hernandez got assaulted by activists for recording the public events. Minneapolis police identified the trio that assaulted Hernandez as members of the Ostroushko family – father Christopher, mother Deyanna, and adult daughter Paige. The video depicts Christopher Ostroushko blindsiding Hernandez, who was injured in the attack. The local police investigation resulted in a minor misdemeanor charge against only Christopher in Hennepin County,

Do you ever wonder why so many Blue states refuse to hand over their voter rolls to the federal government? After all, there is a federal law that requires certain measures to ensure ballot integrity, passed in the wake of the 2000 Florida debacle. It requires, among other things, that states clean their voter rolls of ineligible voters. But these states refuse to do that, and they refuse to show that they aren't breaking federal law. Of course, every sentient person knows exactly why they do both of those things: they cheat, and want to make it as hard as possible to detect the cheating, and almost impossible to audit elections

For decades, the mental health industry and its allies in media, government, and education have operated on a simple assumption: the more mental health awareness we spread, through campaigns, school programs, social media, and public service announcements, the better. Raise awareness, reduce stigma, encourage help-seeking, and mental health will surely improve. New evidence shows the opposite is happening. Well-intentioned awareness efforts are actively backfiring, manufacturing distress, inflating diagnoses, and turning normal human emotions into chronic “disorders.” The shocking result is that these campaigns are turning mentally fit people into self-diagnosed mentally ill patients, with symptoms effectively “contracted” from the awareness messages themselves.

When Does Speech Become Dangerous? 9 replies

Americans love arguing about free speech. We invoke the First Amendment as a kind of political force field: You can say whatever you want, whenever you want, without consequence. But the First Amendment only restricts government action. It does not guarantee you a career, a platform or immunity from backlash. The real question is not whether certain speech is legal but rather what kind of speech deserves social consequences — and what kind doesn't. And if we're talking about reckless political speech, we should talk about Jimmy Kimmel. Years ago, he abandoned comedy in favor of applause lines, tearful monologues and the occasional performance of empathy. He's an unfunny

A large Roman Catholic diocese pushed back at criticism Friday after Pope Leo XIV appointed a former illegal immigrant as a bishop amid heightened tensions between the Vatican and Washington over refugees and ICE enforcement. Leo nominated Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala as bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, which covers all of West Virginia. Menjivar-Ayala originally arrived in San Ysidro, California, smuggled in a car trunk after making several prior attempts as a teenager to flee guerrilla war-torn El Salvador. The bishop has also been critical of increased immigration enforcement measures, calling them a human rights concern and responding directly to critiques of the church from fellow Catholics in the Trump administration ...

We were originally referred to as "baby boomers," the generation born in the immediate aftermath of World War II. From 1946 to 1964, the U.S. Census Bureau tells us that more than 76 million babies were born. Why 1964 as a cutoff point? That's the year that the birth control pill was introduced in the U.S., and the birth rate began to decline. Today, we're simply referred to as "Boomers." We grew up in a period of massive wealth creation, painful social change, and the specter of nuclear annihilation hanging over our heads. All of that impacted our worldview and led to a mixed record of accomplishments

On April 30, the UK’s Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre raised the national threat level from “substantial” to “SEVERE.” Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood confirmed the change,

The U.S. attacked Iran on Feb. 28. Trump notified Congress on March 2, which started the 60-day time period. On Friday, Trump formally told Congress he does not need to submit anything for approval.

What if social media were treated like tobacco? It might sound like a fantasy, but it’s closer to reality than you might think. Taking a cue, the European Union released an app enabling age verification on social platforms, while a handful of European nations are mulling Australia-style bans. The Canadian government is “very seriously” considering mandatory age limits, while even here in America, the Massachusetts state house recently voted to ban social media for children under 14.
