Once again, a wannabe assassin has attempted to murder President Trump. This marks at least the fifth time that a person or group has tried to take Trump’s life since he became the Republican nominee for president in 2016. During this time period, a Democrat from Illinois tried to assassinate an entire baseball team of Republican lawmakers and nearly succeeded in killing House Majority Whip Steve Scalise. When I write about politics, or the pope, or abortion, or immigration, I expect to get a lot of blowback from people who disagree with me. It comes with the territory, that territory being opinion writing. I have a thick skin, and forge ahead with my views on everything from papal infallibility to Taylor Swift's universal and incomprehensible appeal. Which is why I’m prepared to hear complaints for calling out the hypocrisy spewing from The Atlantic’s David Brooks and his much younger second wife. Brooks is a man who makes mashed potatoes look ethnic, he is so suburban, preppy and white. I don't mean "white" as in Caucasian. I mean the color.

Luke Rosiak, a fine reporter at the Daily Wire, has uncovered an explosive story about the Biden Administration's conspiracy to funnel $90 million in forgivable small business loans during the COVID pandemic. They knew Planned Parenthood was not eligible, so in order to hide the transactions, they created a codename for the organization to hide their discussions from FOIA requests, violating the law. (X) Credit where credit is due: Joni Ernst ferreted out the scheme, which is yet another example of the massive Democratic fraud that was enabled by the COVID "emergency." It all began when the floodgates for forgivable loans were opened in 2020, and the Trump administration

"The Democratic Party has created monsters among them," Jan. 6 criminal defense attorney Marina Medvin posted to X in the wake of yet another assassination attempt on President Donald Trump Saturday night. "The most interesting part" of attempted assassin Cole Allen's manifesto and social media posts is that they're "generally indistinguishable from most liberal social medial accounts belonging to Democrat voters in America." Dems, you have a problem. President Trump appeared last night for an interview by correspondent Norah O’Donnell on 60 Minutes. O’Donnell seems to me a vile partisan hack along with the rest of the 60 Minutes crew. CBS News has posted the transcript of her interview online here. In the course of the interview O’Donnell inadvertently provided Trump the opportunity to refute the ridiculous No Kings protest movement that has found such popularity among Trump haters across the land and close to home in the Twin Cities. O’Donnell observed that the attempted assasssin of Trump this past Saturday evening had attended a No Kings protest in California. Winding up for a second or two, Trump
DeSantis Shrugs Off Jeffries’ FAFO Threat,
Drops Map Giving GOP Four Extra Seats

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) just dropped a new congressional map that could potentially hand Republicans four extra seats in the Sunshine State. The move comes just days after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) made a trash-talking threat against any effort by the governor to redistrict his state. The proposed redistricting plan, unveiled on Monday, capitalizes on Florida’s massive population boom and Republican voter edge to carve out even stronger conservative districts. If approved by the GOP-controlled state legislature, the new maps would turn what was already a solid Republican advantage into a potential +4 powerhouse for the 2026 midterms.

There were a lot of reactions to the shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday. Some rose to the occasion, as President Donald Trump himself did, trying to reassure everyone and making sure people were okay. Some, like unhinged Trump haters, did not, calling it "staged" or "false flag." Some had ridiculous takes, like Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-8), who asked, "What rhetoric?" when asked about the rhetoric Democrats have leveled against Trump for the past ten years. Then there was Barack Obama. What he posted late Sunday afternoon about the shooting was rather incredible. (X) Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind
How Equality Destroys a State 3 replies

The equality of man is found at the forefront of our Declaration of Independence and is considered an uncontested virtue of free society. However, disagreement over its implementation has raised the following questions: What exactly is equality in a state? Which things should be equal? Which should be unequal? What are the consequences? A nation’s concord depends on the answers — and yet today, these questions are rarely examined. Historically, this was not the case. In Aristotle’s exploration in Politics, equality is governed by justice — the principle that each is given his due. But exactly what is “due” depends

It was a historic feat — on a pair of historic feet. Sabastian Sawe of Kenya became the first man in history to run an official marathon in under two hours, breaking the coveted mark in the London Marathon Sunday after it had eluded runners for decades. Sawe, 31, ran the 26.2-mile course in the British capital in one hour, 59 minutes and 30 seconds, astonishingly one of two runners to cross the finish line under the historic mark — Yomif Kejelcha of Ethiopia finished just 11 seconds behind him, according to reports. It appears that the crazy California teacher who tried to assassinate President Donald Trump and members of his administration at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday might have donated to Kamala Harris‘s presidential campaign in 2024. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) individual contributor database shows that an individual identified as “ALLEN, COLE” who lived in Torrance, California, donated $25 through ActBlue in October 2024, “EARMARKED FOR HARRIS FOR PRESIDENT.” I confirmed the donation data on the FEC site. Prominent voices on the left have been branding their opponents as Nazis, “literally Hitler,” pedophiles, or “a threat to democracy.” This inflammatory language dehumanizes entire groups, paints targets on people’s backs, erodes civil discourse, and creates a climate where violence is viewed as justifiable. When rhetoric escalates to open calls for harm, the consequences are deadly: attempted assassinations of President Trump, the 2017 shooting of Republican congressmen at baseball practice, the murder of Charlie Kirk, and assaults on pro-life activists. Leftists are normalizing the violence against Republicans. President Trump attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton last evening—

According to NBC Los Angeles, Bass said “that she feels optimistic that the Trump administration will send more resources the city needs to recover from the 2025 Palisades Fire after meeting with him and his key advisors in the Oval Office.”

Rep. Check out some of the best reactions from online: I guess that it should comes as no surprise that the congresswoman who "mistakenly" claimed that she was worth $30 million when she apparently doesn't even tout a net worth of $100,000 couldn't tell the difference between two and eleven.

Despite a $7.1 billion hole, Mayor Zohran Mamdani has pushed back against any serious cutting to his budget and instead wants to delay required payments to city pension funds. That’s precisely the kind of tactics that brought the city to the brink of bankruptcy in the ’70s. At the least, it will saddle future taxpayers with unnecessary costs. For the moment, the city is on-track to meeting its long-term pension-funding obligations by its 2032 deadline. Yet to help close his budget hole, Mamdani would push $1 billion worth of payments into the 2040s. That would be both costly and risky.

New York City's self-described democratic socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, has made history, just not the kind worth bragging about. Barely months into office, he has blown past a statutory budget deadline for the first time since 2015, declared a fiscal crisis of "historic magnitude," and responded to a $5.4 billion budget gap the way any good socialist would: by asking someone else to pay for it. Mamdani and City Council Speaker Julie Menin appeared together at City Hall on Tuesday to announce they would delay the executive budget, originally due May 1, until May 12 while lobbying Albany to bail out a city

The study, conducted by the Foundation for Government Accountability, connected 14,000 luxury vehicles to food stamp enrollees, with Lexus being the most common brand.
