US forces have seized a Guyana-flagged tanker transporting Iranian oil in the Indian Ocean, the War Department confirmed Thursday. The Pentagon released footage of the seizure of the Majestic X on social media, with photos showing American troops on the deck of the vessel. The Majestic X, formerly known as Phonix, had been sanctioned by the Treasury Department in 2024 for smuggling Iranian crude oil in violaiton of American sanctions on the Islamic Republic. Ship-tracking data showed the Majestic X in the Indian Ocean between Sri Lanka and Indonesia, roughly the same location as the oil tanker Tifani, seized by the US earlier this week.

Iran will make no money off of that load of oil, or any others. Good, more choking off the lifeline of these thug 'generals' and 'religious' nutcases.

Iranian leaders insisted on Thursday that they could not allow the free flow of commercial transit in the Strait of Hormuz because the United States has continued to enforce a blockade on Iranian ships using the maritime byway, indicating continued Iranian intransigence hampering attempts at peace talks. The commentary followed the initial conclusion, and then extension of, a two-week ceasefire initiated by the United States against Iran to create space for talks to end the current conflict. The conflict began on February 28,

CBP officers arrested a 41‑year‑old woman traveling with three minors at the Nogales Port of Entry after finding an RPG launcher tube, rifles, and weapons parts concealed in a void beneath the back seat of her Lexus. Officials say the cache was discovered during outbound inspections aimed at stopping weapons from reaching criminal groups in Mexico. CBP officials reported that on April 19, a 41-year-old U.S. citizen, female, approached the DeConcini Crossing in Nogales, Arizona, to cross the border into Mexico. The woman, driving a 2016 Lexus IS200t was referred to a secondary inspection station where officers carried out a non-intrusive inspection of the vehicle.

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar blew up at a reporter this week for asking questions about accounting “discrepancies” the Democrat blamed for overstating her net worth by millions of dollars on financial disclosure forms. In May last year, Omar (D-Minn.) claimed she and her husband, Tim Mynett, held assets worth between $6 million and $30 million. However, an amended filing reported by the Wall Street Journal last week put the couple’s wealth at between $18,004 and $95,000. The lawmaker claimed the initial filing was riddled with accounting errors.

An O'Keefe Media undercover investigation has unmasked a chief of chemical nuclear surety for the U.S. government spilling sensitive information and military tactics to a complete stranger. The undercover reporter the chief was speaking with filmed the entire exchange. The 14-minute video is embedded below. O'Keefe summarized the exchange in an X post. He wrote: Hugg also revealed that the airstrikes conducted under Operation Epic Fury had killed children in Iran. O'Keefe further stated that Hugg leaked intelligence surrounding plans in the works to take out Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

Apparently, it’s everyone else’s fault that no one quite knew what to make of Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy’s characteristically attention-grabbing remark on Tuesday morning: https://x.com/ChrisMurphyCT/status/2046345472915206646?s=20 There is some ambiguity in Murphy’s remark. Was the senator cheering on the ships that supposedly evaded the American blockade? Was he going for sarcasm, mourning the U.S. Navy’s inefficacy with a melancholy hint of self-satisfaction over having his skepticism of this war confirmed by events? As political observers wrestled over these competing interpretations of Murphy’s remark, we at least learned that the senator was dead wrong about the facts:
Why Social Change Typically Limits Democracy 2 replies

The United States was built on a distrust of concentrated power. It is this fundamental distrust of big government that shaped federalism, defined the separation of powers, and limited each branch to a distinct role. During periods of rapid social change, however, governmental restraint weakens. Reform movements—whether in civil rights, economic regulation, or cultural policy—have not only produced legislation but also expanded judicial authority.j Social progressivism brings courts to no longer just interpret the law but also reshape it. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 addressed a clear injustice. It prohibited discrimination in employment and public accommodations based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

have no idea what’s going on with the Maryland General Assembly. But when your own law enforcement disagrees with you on a major Senate Bill, it’s a problem. In case you missed the news, the assembly earlier this week passed Senate Bill 791. Also known as the Community Trust Act, it essentially prohibits local correctional facilities from taking actions related to immigration enforcement. But what’s worse is that it actually holds back local law enforcement from communicating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and stops any kind of notifications and transfers to ICE without an order or judicial warrant.

The incident, which occurred on a subway platform in the Bronx, underscores how Mamdani‘s embrace of anti-meritocratic DEI hiring practices has eroded public safety and emboldened criminals. While Americans are told to think of Iran as a distant threat, the arrest of Iranian national Shamim Mafi at Los Angeles International Airport shattered that fiction on April 18. According to First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, Mafi, a lawful permanent resident living in Woodland Hills, allegedly brokered more than $70.6 million in Iranian-made drones, bombs, bomb fuses, assault weapons, and millions of rounds of ammunition for Sudan. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in federal prison. This is not just a sanctions case. It is a homeland security warning Americans cannot afford to ignore.

MS NOW's Lawrence O'Donnell asked the House Minority Leader to respond to the president's comments. "Well, it’s an extraordinary insult, but he continues to repeat it. And what’s so ironic is that Donald Trump is clearly the dumbest person ever to sit at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," Jeffries said. Jeffries said Trump and Republicans have failed America. "But most importantly, Lawrence, this guy and Republicans have completely and totally failed America. They failed on the economy, failed on healthcare, failed on immigration enforcement," he said.

But on Tuesday, the Trump DOJ dropped a bombshell: an 11-count federal indictment charging the SPLC with wire fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering for secretly funneling more than $3 million in donor cash to actual extremists. Among those nefarious payments was a staggering $270,000 allegedly paid to a member of the online leadership chat group that planned the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville.

A federal appeals court on Wednesday blocked enforcement of a California law that would have required federal immigration officers, including ICE agents, to unmask and wear visible identification during operations in the state. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the United States’ motion for an injunction pending appeal. The court ruled that Section 10 of the No Vigilantes Act (S.B. 805) “attempts to directly regulate the United States in its performance of governmental functions,” violating the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution. California, Governor Gavin Newsom, and Attorney General Rob Bonta are now enjoined from applying or enforcing the provision against federal agencies and officers.
