Data Breach Exposing French Gun Owners

Anytime there's a list of anything, there are going to be people who want to view that list for whatever reason. As we are firmly in the 21st century, that list is going to be digital more often than not, and that means the number of people who want to get that data increases exponentially. Especially when it's something like a gun registry. Luckily, federal law bars the federal government from creating a gun registry, though let's be real here. If they change their minds, they'll repeal the law in a heartbeat. It won't stop them.

The government eventually collects all the paper 4473 forms that people filled out when purchasing firearms, which are required to be KEPT AT THE INDIVIDUAL dealer's location, when the dealer goes out of business. And....of course for efficiency, ATF has been converting these "inconvenient" paper forms into a computerized database. And of course, it is ILLEGAL to have a "centralized database of gun owners".....except that the ATF has been systematically violating this law for decades, and, AFAIK, still is doing it today. Never, ever trust the government. Even if the CURRENT government and current bureaucrats follow the laws, eventually there will be bureaucrats and politicians who will break and abuse the laws. Guaranteed, 100% certain.

I always wondered about a database of people with a carry license. Will they consider that prima facie evidence of gun ownership and knock on your door one day? It could happen under Democrat rule and their future Supreme Court appointees. All those forms filed with the ATF. It's more to keep up with honest citizens for when the government wants to confiscate all firearms in the future and does nothing to deter your local thug who bought one off the street. There are also thousands and thousands swapped, inherited, traded and sold every day between individuals. It is, of course, a leftist's dream to only allow those with the right connections like them to be able to own a gun or wealthy enough to hire private, armed security.

Frequently, wise-sounding aphorisms get misattributed to Albert Einstein. Our favorite genius was genuinely wise in important ways; his later reflections on ethics, pacifism, and the danger of “compromising with the Devil” show real moral depth. But when we think of Einstein, we don’t think, “so wise.” We think, “he was brilliant,” intelligent, supergenius. Over and over, quoters upgrade any clever observation by slapping “Einstein” on it because, in today’s world, intelligence carries far more prestige than wisdom.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio helped to act as a mediator in talks between Israel and Lebanon in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday. If they get Lebanon more on board with holding Hezbollah in check, that could incapacitate another avenue of Iranian terror and an organization involved in killing at least hundreds of Americans. As Rubio said, it was about putting a "permanent end to 20 or 30 years of Hezbollah's influence," and the damage they've caused. He helped to get them to meet for the first time in decades. If they can pull that off—neutralizing Iran as a threat or even turning it from an adversary into a partner—

On Monday, the White House released the 2026 Economic Report of the President prepared by the Council of Economic Advisers. It reviews Trump administration policies, including a key chapter on Protecting and Rebuilding the American Dream of Homeownership, which proposed innovative and creative solutions to past issues that led to the current housing crisis. “We’ve got a 10 million home shortfall, and we’re operating like it's 1946 instead of 2026,” Paolo Tiramani, CEO of BOXABL, told Just The News. United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby suggested a potential merger with American Airlines during a meeting with Trump administration officials, two sources familiar with the discussion said. The conversation, which took place on February 25 at the White House during a scheduled session on the future of Dulles International Airport, has drawn new attention after Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy signaled openness to more airline industry consolidation. Duffy cautioned, however, that any deal would face tough scrutiny to ensure it would not harm competition or raise passenger fares. A combination of the two carriers would create the world’s largest airline by capacity and control nearly half the U.S. domestic market, according to industry data.

The United States Central Command reported Tuesday no ships made it past the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf within the first 24-hours of the blockade. President Donald Trump ordered the blockade after negotiations in Pakistan failed to secure a peace deal between the United States and Iran over the weekend. CENTCOM said the mission to block the Strait consists of over 10,000 U.S. Sailors, Marines, and Airmen, over a dozen warships and dozens of aircraft. "During the first 24 hours, no ships made it past the U.S. blockade and 6 merchant vessels complied with directions from U.S. forces —

The Chinese Communist Party offered hearty congratulations to Hungary’s expected next prime minister, Péter Magyar, on Monday following his party’s sound defeat of current Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, signaling interest in maintaining the outsized influence Beijing developed during Orbán’s 16 years in power. Orbán lost to Magyar, a former member of Orbán’s party, and his Tisza Party on Sunday in a landslide, relegating his political party, Fidesz, to the opposition. Orbán last spent eight years in leadership of the opposition after losing the 2002 election and, barring some proposed term limits, under current law can have the opportunity to run again for the prime ministership in the future.

Democrats did not turn a blind eye to Rep. Eric Swalwell’s (D-CA) alleged behavior, Rep. Oh, and 50 percent of Catholics who actually go to church also approve of Trump taking military action against a suicidal terrorist regime in Iran seeking nuclear weapons. While it’s true Trump has lost support amongst the broad group of those who identify as Catholic, those who actually practice the faith (which means attending church) still support the president by a 58 to 42 percent margin. Democrats aren’t holding Swalwell accountable. They’re removing an obstacle that potentially threatens their power in California. Editor’s note: This article discusses explicit sexual acts. California Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell, who until Sunday was running for governor of his state, will now be one of those cautionary tales his party likes to use in claiming that — unlike Republicans — Democrats are too concerned with principles and decency. It’s a pathetic coping front for what really happened with that sick party, which once again is living by the destructive, anti-American standards they’ve tried imposing on everyone else.

Just a few weeks ago, Rep. Eric Swalwell was said to be leading a crowded pack of Democrats trying to win the nomination for California’s governor. Then, in the blink of an eye, his party abandoned him. The alleged reason is evidence of sexual misconduct. In reality, Swalwell fell victim to the Democratic Party’s unquenchable lust for power and California’s bizarre jungle primary. On Friday, the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN both ran stories about women accusing him of sexual misconduct. Within hours, Democrats were taking their endorsements back and calling on him to drop out of the race. By Sunday, he’d suspended his campaign.

Democrats in the Virginia House and Senate passed HB167 with vote totals of 62-35 and 21-17, respectively, earlier this year. The bill specifically removes the Virginia Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) and the Confederate Memorial Literary Society, among other similar groups, from the list of organizations exempt from state property taxes. The UDC, a nonprofit, was founded in 1894 by women “seeking to honor their family members and ancestors” who served in the Confederate military or contributed to the Southern war effort, its website states.

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger has signed a bill to circumvent the electoral college and have Virginia become a member of a compact between states that are looking to give their Electoral College votes to the presidential candidate that wins the popular vote instead of the candidate that voters from the state choose. Spanberger signed HB965 into law, which would effectively null and void votes cast in Virginia itself and only give its Electoral College votes to the nationwide popular vote winner. The compact between the states, however, will not go into effect until there are enough states in the compact to reach 270 electoral votes.
