The Media Missed the Most Basic Fact About
Good Friday

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth leads the Pentagon, and the Air Force that serves underneath him sent an internal email to over 3,500 employees on Good Friday, reminding staff about the Good Friday service at the Pentagon Chapel. The memo stated that a Protestant service would take place, while adding in plain terms that there would be no Catholic Mass. A Pentagon spokesperson confirmed that the Protestant service stood as the only one scheduled that day. A report from the liberal HuffPost raised eyebrows among critics for suggesting Catholics were being excluded

It is glaringly obvious that the excuses for journalists at these media outlets were so eager to report something damning they didn’t take 10 minutes to call up a catholic priest for a reaction. If they had the priest could have explained that Catholics never hold mass on Good Friday. This speaks volumes about the TDS insanity of these media fools.

Sure, no Mass. But we have a most solemn prayer service, including a proclamation of the Passion from John's Gospel, a veneration of the holy cross, and distribution of Communion, which was consecrated at the Mass of the Lord's Supper, the night before. There should be a Catholic service, even though it is not a Mass, as it is at least the equivalent of the Protestant service that they DID have. Oh, and few places are more hostile to Catholic teachings than HuffPo

This story proves that the different media outlets that posted this story or had it on their nightly newscasts that there are no Catholics working at these places. Smacks of bigotry and discrimination to me.

I'm a 75 year old Catholic. Good Friday is the only day of the year when Catholics don't celebrate Mass. We have a Good Friday service where we listen to the reading of the Passion, then we venerate the cross, pray for various causes and then go to communion with hosts that have been consecrated the night before. But there is no Mass. The main stream media gets so much wrong when it comes to the Catholic church and with Christianity in general.

The typical media effort to create some controversy by pitting one group against another hoping to get noticed.... Young against Older citizens, Women against Men, one race against another. Creating FAKE new stories without doing the digging and research hoping the people will just take whatever social crap they spew as Gospel. It is surprising that they didn't talk about the simple Gospel message and attempt to put forth some kind of new script. It is simple: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved ... For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God ... For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life ... Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved... Blessings to All on this Resurrection Easter Sunday

The moves by European leaders to stymie the United States in its conflict with the Islamist Iranian regime, apparently motivated by fear of potential blowback from Tehran and its proxies, appear set to incur a far greater strategic setback as Republicans call for a complete re-assessment of the NATO alliance. While leaders in Western Europe seemingly took the calculation that publicly rebuking U.S. President Donald Trump was in their political interest, given their largely left-liberal bases, growing Islamic populations opposed to any actions taken alongside Israel, and perhaps a belief that the MAGA base would split on the war, it appears that they have only succeeded in uniting the top brass

Reports are bouncing around X that the Weapons System Officer has been recovered after a dramatic battle in southern Iran. What doesn't appear to be in dispute is that a battle has taken place near the site where the downed F-15 crewmember was hiding. US President Donald Trump on Saturday vowed to rain “hell” on Iran if it fails to reach a ceasefire deal or open the Strait of Hormuz by Monday, when time runs out on an ultimatum that he has extended twice. Trump has repeatedly threatened to strike Iran’s power grid if Tehran fails to comply with US demands. On Saturday, a senior Israeli defense official said Israel was preparing to attack Iranian energy facilities, likely within the next week, but was awaiting a green light from the US.

The New York Times set out Friday to embarrass President Donald Trump over his hardline stance on NATO. It wound up spectacularly backfiring on them. Several NATO nations have declined to join a U.S.-Israel military operation targeting Iran. Alliance members also refused Trump's requests to deploy their forces to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, much to the chagrin of President Trump, who figures that if NATO allies won’t help the United States, then the alliance has become meaningless. So the paper ran a piece criticizing Trump's threats to withdraw from the alliance, and the print edition’s headline asked a pointed question: "A North American Treaty Organization Without America?"
