President Trump was stunned to learn last week that US intelligence indicates new Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei may be gay — and that his father, the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, feared his suitability to rule the Islamic Republic for that reason, The Post can reveal.
Trump couldn’t contain his surprise and laughed aloud when he was briefed on the intel, according to sources.
Others in the room also found it “hilarious” and joined the president’s reaction, while one senior intelligence official “has not stopped laughing about it for days,” said one person familiar with the briefing.

President Gustavo Petro’s proposal to move toward a dual citizenship arrangement between Colombia and Venezuela for citizens who have lived in both countries has opened a new front in the debate over the relationship between the two nations, which share a history and a border.
The initiative aims to allow citizens of both countries—who share a common history on both sides of the border—to hold both Colombian and Venezuelan citizenship simultaneously, with access to civil, political, and economic rights in both countries.
The proposal comes amid a process of political rapprochement between Bogotá and Caracas, in which the two governments are trying to deepen cooperation in trade, energy, and border security.

An Arizona man accused of crucifying a pastor and placing a crown of thorns on the victim's head has requested the death penalty so everyone "can move on with our lives." Adam Sheafe, who is representing himself, asked the judge last week to allow him to enter a guilty plea, so the case can wrap up quickly, saying the legal system was "dragging this out," according to Fox 10.
Sheafe, 51, is accused of murdering William Schonemann, the pastor of New River Bible Chapel, in April 2025 before mutilating the man's body. Schonemann was found dead with his arms spread out in his bed and his hands pinned to a wall

Late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was wary about his son Mojtaba succeeding him because he was not perceived as being particularly intelligent, according a new report. CBS News detailed that Khamenei was also aware of issues in Mojtaba's personal life. However, the outlet added, Trump told people close to him that information conveyed to him about the new supreme leader doesn't matter. He believes the country is operating without a leader and Khamenei could be dead.Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Friday that Khamenei is wounded and likely disfigured. Moreover, a report by British outlet The Sun claimed that the man is in a coma and lost a leg

Protesters attacked a Communist Party headquarters in Cuba overnight, ransacking the building and attempting to set it on fire, and video appeared to capture gunfire and a man on the ground outside, according to footage obtained by Fox News Digital. Cuban state media later denied that anyone had been struck by police gunfire and announced five arrests.
Dramatic footage shows a large crowd gathered outside the building in the city of Morón as a fire burns in the street and protesters throw burning objects at the building. Protesters can be heard chanting "Libertad, libertad!" — Spanish for "Freedom, freedom!" — moments before gunfire rings out in the video.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth delivered a press conference on Friday on the status of the Iran war and blasted what he called "fake news" coverage of the conflict. Hegseth announced that today will be the highest level of strikes in Iran.
Hegseth criticized CNN for reporting the administration "underestimated" Iran's impact on the Strait of Hormuz, saying, "The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better."
"More fake news from CNN," Hegseth said. "Reports that the Trump administration underestimated the Iran war's impact on the Strait of Hormuz. Patently ridiculous, of course. For decades, Iran has threatened shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. This is always

Poet Robert Frost once said that "good fences make good neighbors." He apparently never met Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who is being sued by his neighbors for effectively squatting on their land and then seizing it to install a fence along his $830,500 private residence in suburban Philadelphia. The litigation is likely to put Shapiro in a much different light for many who think of him as a 2028 contender. The irony of the case is crushing. Shapiro opposed Trump's plan to build a wall along the southern border, declaring that he would sue before a dime of Pennsylvania money went to pay for it. He apparently adopted

Earlier this week, the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church (UMC) suspended one of its ordained elders, Rev. Stephanie Remington, after learning that she worked for Jeffrey Epstein from 2018-2019.
Epstein, a convicted sex offender and suspected sex trafficker, died in his jail cell on Aug. 10, 2019, in what officials ruled a suicide by hanging. The high-profile financier was arrested a month earlier and charged with sex trafficking. Remington worked for Epstein as an administrative assistant and later as a temporary property manager for his private island.

Fourteen days into Operation Epic Fury, the most consequential American military campaign in the Middle East since the invasion of Iraq, the Trump administration has yet to say what victory will actually look like. The president has variously toggled between declaring Iran has “practically nothing left,” indicating that the conflict would be right around the corner, and telling Kentucky rally-goers that we need to “finish the job” so that we don’t have to go back and do this all over again later down the road.
The campaign is succeeding, but that will ultimately make little difference if we stop before the job is done.

I'm not an optimist, per se. But when it comes to America, I'm an upbeat patriot. I believe wholeheartedly in Americans, the greatness of this country and the strength of our democratic republic – especially when it comes to elections.
But I might be alone in this. According to a March NPR/PBS News/Marist Poll, Americans' confidence in fair elections has actually dropped: 34% of Americans have little or no confidence in their elections, up from 24% since 2024. This is why it's so disappointing to see Congress fail over and over to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, also known as the SAVE Act or the SAVE America Act.

With the dust literally settling and an acknowledgment that the situation could unexpectedly change, Operation Epic Fury appears to be a success. The U.S. and Israel now control the skies and the seas, and Trump will facilitate the transition to new leadership. In its final death throes, the old regime has shot off missiles every which way, hitting random areas, with diminishing prospects of serious retaliation. Altogether, based on how the campaign has progressed, Iran is on its way to becoming a stable and prosperous republic, or at least a tolerable autocracy that doesn’t sponsor terrorism.

Security experts told the Daily Caller that President Donald Trump’s latest operation in Iran is part of a broader strategy to cripple Tehran’s ability to threaten the U.S. and its allies while also weakening hostile powers that depend on the regime.
President Donald Trump announced in an early morning video statement on Feb. 28 that U.S. and Israeli forces had launched major combat operations against Iran under Operation Epic Fury. The experts said the conflict fits Trump’s broader “peace through strength” foreign policy, arguing that a decisive strike on Iran could reshape not only the Middle East, but also America’s posture toward larger adversaries such as China and Russia.
