As a kid, growing up amongst the wooded hills and white limestone outcrops of Allamakee County, Iowa, I had more than a passing acquaintance with rattlesnakes. Non-poisonous snakes, like bull-snakes and water snakes, I was under orders to leave alone, but the area's big timber rattlers I was allowed to go after, and in the summer I actively hunted them, for the meat (tastes like chicken), their hides, and their rattles. One thing I learned early on: To make sure a snake is dead, you have to cut off its head.
That applies to the leaders of rogue nations,

We have reached the point where the Democrats and the media are trying to convince the public that the military and Trump were unaware that the Strait of Hormuz was a strategic chokepoint, vulnerable to Iranian attack.
Newsflash: the US military can read maps, and Trump has spoken about the importance of the Strait since the turn of the century.
The media and Democrats are desperate to portray what is, legitimately, the most successful military operation in modern history as a chaotic, strategy-free, and failing war that Iran is winning.

Don't misunderstand what I'm about to say. The war in Iran will continue for at least another week, according to President Donald Trump, and probably much longer. There are still hundreds, maybe thousands of targets, human and places, to destroy, thousands of sorties to be flown by U.S. and Israeli forces, and American naval assets will soon be joined by up to 5,000 Marines. There undoubtedly will still be casualties to come, joining the 13 we've already lost in the last fortnight. But not only are we winning this war against Iran, the killer move that all but assures the final outcome

Iran struck and damaged five US Air Force refuelling planes on the ground at Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base, The Wall Street Journal reported, in what would mark a major escalation in the Middle East conflict involving the United States-Israel and the Islamic Republic. “The tankers were hit during a strike in recent days. They were damaged but not completely destroyed and are now being repaired,” one of the officials told the WSJ, adding that no casualties or fatalities were reported in the attack.

Iran wants to hold the Strait of Hormuz hostage. Donald Trump just decided to raise the stakes by taking Iran's entire export capacity hostage. Late this evening, Trump announced that US forces had destroyed all of the military facilities on Kharg Island, through which Iran exports 90% of more of its oil.
Trump said he spared Iran's commercial export facilities on Kharg. For now. Nice oil business ya got there, Mojtaba ...
Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.

It's way too early to determine whether or not Operation Roaring Lion's objective of bringing down the Iranian regime will be successful or not, but all those military geniuses who claim that it is impossible are stuck in a paradigm that does not apply.
Operations Epic Fury and Roaring Lion are unlike anything we have seen in history. That doesn't mean the strategy behind them will work, of course, but it does mean that judging past performance tells you little about future success. It's clear that Israel and the United States have a brilliant, if risky, plan to not just decapitate and disarm the Iranian regime's civilian and military leadership,

A federal jury in Texas returned a guilty verdict on all nine defendants charged in the July 2025 attack on the Prairieland ICE detention facility near Alvarado, Texas. The verdict was read on Friday for Benjamin Hanil Song, the accused Antifa organizer behind the attack, and eight associates who now await sentencing for their roles in the attack.
The jury delivered the verdict at the federal courthouse in downtown Fort Worth, finding Song, the alleged ringleader of the Antifa cell, guilty of attempted murder for his role in the shooting of an Alvarado police officer. The local police officer was responding to a request for assistance

Military targets on Iran’s Kharg Island – the loading site for most of the Islamic Republic’s oil exports – were “totally obliterated” by US airstrikes during a historic bombing raid in the Persian Gulf, President Trump announced Friday.
“Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The island, located about 16 miles off the Iranian coast, is one-third the size of Manhattan and controls 90% of Iranian crude oil exports.

China and Russia on Thursday expressed their displeasure with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for condemning Iran’s unprovoked attacks on neighboring countries.
UNSC adopted a draft resolution on Thursday sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) that condemned Iran’s attacks on the Gulf states and Jordan. The resolution had overwhelming support, with no less than 135 co-sponsors and no votes against its adoption. The resolution demanded Iran halt its “egregious” and “deplorable” attacks against neighboring states and cease its effort to destroy their energy infrastructure. It pointedly avoided mentioning Israel, which has also been attacked by Iran.

If you have followed Operation Epic Fury closely, you know why the United States has been blowing up Iran's military power, its leadership, and has allied itself with Israel to devastate the Iranian regime.
Yet, according to several polls, Americans aren't sure why Trump initiated the operation, and are mostly unaware of how incredibly successful it has been. Aside from the decapitation strikes' successes, people are led to believe that Iran is doing pretty well out of the war. There were a couple of striking findings in the poll, but the one that stands out is that Americans are confused about why we are at war in the first place.
