Trump Isn't Starting a War, He's Ending One

As of this writing, the United States and Israel have begun what I can only assume to be the first round of military strikes on Iran. I also assume that the eventual goal is regime change, effected by the United States, but driven by the Iranian people. And I'm not alone. Over the past few days, the so-called “think” tanks are falling all over themselves to be the first to prophesy a quagmire, a “trap,” a “forever war,” and Iraq 3.0. The dregs at Foreign Policy took a break from clamoring for a post-American world order to demand we not bomb Iran precisely to more quickly usher in said order.

This must be why up-Chuck Schumer and Hhhaack-heem Jeffries were looking like they'd just seen a ghost right after the Gang of Eight received that mysterious WH briefing by Marco Rubio prior to the SOTU.

OK, L-Dotters...... Fire up the Wayback Machine! First thought: If my memory serves me correctly, the Iranian 'mullets' declared war on the United States many years -decades- ago. Just 'big talk' on their part? -or- is it that they have done everything in their power to try to hurt America and Americans, but they are so impotent that we have not really taken notice? They have backed a number ot terrorist groups and caused a lot of trouble, but have, at least until now, not had the ability to mount enough of an attack on America to provoke the American government into really serious military action, action aimed at 'regime change' in Iran. Second thought: The Iranian 'mullets' have been working for decades on building atomic explosives, and the missiles to place those warheads on Israel and America. They have also said, over and over, that as soon as they have such atomic weapons, they will USE them. Should we wait until they actually destroy a city -and kill everyone in it- before acting? It seems to me that President Trump is taking the unpleasant but necessary action now, to avoid at outright Catastrophe later. If I recall my history correctly, France and England could have acted to eliminate Hitler and his National Socialists before the NAZIs gained much power, but instead France and England -with the memory of WWI still in many people's mind- watched, and talked, and worried, and wrung their hands until Hitler decided his army was strong enough and overran Poland, finally kicking off World War II, which took the full and combined efforts of France, England, the Soviet Union, the United States, and a host of other countries to win. (I know- it's complicated, but Hitler, the NAZI's and Germany were the lead outfit.) What do y'all think? Am I correct, or am I off base?

The headline makes an excellent point. Iran has been at war with US, Israel and much of the rest of the world for 40 years. Time to end the regime.

There is one more thing that absolutely MUST happen. The Iranian people that oppose the Islamic rulers MUST, MUST, MUST take over rule of the country and set it on a solid path away from the last 50 years of insanity. We can pound the Islamic military into fragments but we DO NOT want to manage their country. We don't want any significant presence there because it just makes us a sitting duck target. The Middle East countries are not like America. They have completely different beliefs and views and trying to "Americanize" them is foolish. All we need from new leaders is a clear commitment not to attack the US or Israel in any way and not to allow terrorists groups to take root in Iran. If we can have a friendly relationship with Iran, that would be nice and we should seek that if possible. But that is up to new Iranian leadership to work out, not for us to force. Should we expect to have a military presence in the area until things stabilize? Probably, especially if requested by a new government. But NO bases in the country. Our goal should be to prevent any Islamic militants from regrouping into a significant force. If they have Islamic terrorist cells, the new government should deal with them, possibly with some US support.

Just another reminder to the radical muslims - never ever cross The Donald, Bebi and the sovereign nation of Israel. Getting the idea now? I know. It's been a few thousand years but better late than never to understand that God, our Heavenly Father and Creator is in charge, not your fraud, Mohamed.

The Green Party may be jubilant about its triumph in Gorton and Denton, but some voters are already expressing buyers’ remorse. Waqas Khan, 40, owns Al-Mecca Butchers on Stockport Road, where a “Vote Green” poster hangs in the shop window. He has lived in the constituency for almost 20 years. He and his family had previously been lifelong Labour voters, but all switched to the Greens on Thursday. Until informed by the Telegraph, however, Khan was unaware of the Greens’ plans to legalise drugs and prostitution and to remove restrictions on pornography. “I checked the manifesto before, but I didn’t see that. It seems they hid those policies,” he says. Khan,

A major geopolitical flashpoint erupted across the Middle East on Saturday after Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting multiple Gulf nations, prompting Saudi Arabia to issue a blistering condemnation of what it described as “brutal Iranian aggression.” Saudi officials made it clear that Riyadh is standing in full solidarity with the nations targeted in Saturday’s coordinated Iranian assault. In its statement, the Kingdom warned that the attacks represent blatant violations of international law and expressed its readiness to assist its regional allies with “all its capabilities.” According to a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry:

For weeks, the Trump administration attempted to achieve a diplomatic outcome, only to have those efforts rebuffed with arrogance and an unwillingness to move on key issues. While Iran's negotiators claimed to be garnering concessions, the American president kept publicly expressing his increasing discontent with the situation. With the arrival of the USS Gerald Ford carrier group into the region, the stage was set to end the obvious stalling by the Iranians, and the show has now started. According to multiple reports, the first round of strikes, which were carried out by the IAF, directly targeted the regime's leadership, and some big names have been eliminated.

The United States and Israel launched a massive aerial attack Saturday on Iran after negotiations failed to strike a deal over Tehran's nuclear ambitions, and President Donald Trump urged the Iranian people to use the moment to seize control of their government. “I say tonight that the hour of your freedom is at hand,” Trump told Iranians in an eight-minute video posted on his TruthSocial platform in which he confirmed the U.S. military had launched “major combat operations” against Tehran alongside Israel. “Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people,"

Few things in Washington, D.C., generate as much as excitement and intrigue as a Supreme Court confirmation showdown. For decades, since the eponymous "borking" of then-Supreme Court nominee Bob Bork in 1987, political battles surrounding the membership of the nation's high court have been among the most contentious and raucous of Beltway affairs. Which is why it's rather curious that very few outside the most fervid of court-watchers seem to be discussing the distinct possibility that there could be one or two Supreme Court vacancies after the current term ends this summer.

The United States government (USG) should not go to war with Iran. Iran’s nuclear program is not a meaningful threat to the United States. How Iran is governed, how its government treats its people, and who the Iranians trade with is none of our business. A genuinely America First strategy toward Iran would mean ignoring the country and the Middle East as a whole. The United States government has no core interests on the Asian landmass. The USG should lift all trade sanctions on the Iranian regime, grant diplomatic recognition to whatever regime is currently in power there, and cease efforts to regulate or manage the Iranian nuclear program.

We were told this time would be different. We were told that a second Trump administration would not repeat the mistakes of the first, that hard lessons had been learned, and that the Deep State would finally be confronted rather than tolerated. One year into President Trump’s second term, it is both fair and necessary to ask whether those assurances are being honored—not from hostility but from a sincere desire to see the America First agenda succeed, endure, and become irreversible. During President Trump’s first term, Congress squandered its moment. The first two years were consumed by infighting, hesitation, and internal paralysis, even with Republican control.
