A major Mexican resort town was under siege on Sunday and an airport was reportedly attacked after the leader of the brutal Jalisco New Generation Cartel was killed by the army on Sunday.
Tourists in Puerto Vallarta were warned to stay indoors as narco gangs lashed out following the death of drug kingpin Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, the powerful boss of the violent crime outfit. The US State Department urged Americans to shelter in place.
“Federal forces carried out an operation in Tapalpa a few hours ago, which has led to clashes in the area,” Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro said on X.

Don’t worry: Friday’s Supreme Court decision limiting some of President Donald Trump’s tariff powers won’t derail his larger, vital project of rebalancing US trade relations, boosting US industry and safeguarding US supply chains — nor should it.
Yes, he’ll need to find other ways (more permanent and legally airtight) to pursue those goals, but the high court’s ruling against his across-the-board tariffs illegal also made it clear he has many such tools at his disposal — including other tariff powers.
Even many of his allies warned that imposing import duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act was legally dubious; other more “durable” laws give him lots of leeway,

RedState has been keeping readers in the loop on the controversy surrounding the major sewage spill into the Potomac River, affecting Washington, D.C., and nearby areas.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that "as a result of incompetent Local and State Management of Essential Waste Management Systems," namechecking Democrat Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, "[t]he Federal Government has no choice, but to step in. FEMA, which is currently being defunded by the Democrats, will play a key role in coordinating the response.".

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds,” Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote. The Democrats might repeat Emerson’s motto, but they go one better. They eschew all forms of consistency—except one. Today, since the Supreme Court just ruled against Trump’s use of the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose tariffs, the Dems are in a festive mood and are happy to praise the Court. No worries, Trump has recourse to many other statutes to pursue his economic policies. That was something the Left began to realize by Friday afternoon, when Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent set forth their plans for a workaround.

MEXICO CITY - Mexican drug lord Nemesio Oseguera, commonly known as 'El Mencho,' has been killed in a military operation, a government source familiar with the operation told Reuters on Sunday.
An ex-police officer, Oseguera was the shadowy leader of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), an outfit that took its moniker from the western state of the same name that is home to Mexico's second largest city, Guadalajara. Over a relatively short period of time, the CJNG morphed into a continents-spanning criminal enterprise rivaling his former allies in the Sinaloa Cartel

Will this week’s Supreme Court decision limit the use of tariffs as a foreign policy tool of presidents, or did it set up a firewall against future leftist chief executives while allowing this president to continue to utilize other means to the same end? Is the decision momentous or of little consequence? (Snip) All in all, not a bad week, Alysia Liu won the gold, Punch was adopted by another monkey and accepted by the troop, Trump gets his tariffs and future presidents and their executive agencies can no longer manufacture jurisdiction over matters Congress never granted them.

A young man tried to enter Mar-a-Lago with a shotgun and a can of gasoline at around 1:30 this morning. Early reports indicate that he was challenged by police and the Secret Service and refused to put down his gun. They shot and killed him.
As of this writing, we don’t know the identity of the intruder, but we can be pretty sure we know his motivation–the insane Trump hatred that has been stirred up by the Democratic Party. The Democrats have deliberately mobilized an army of lunatics to try to get President Trump (and other Republicans) killed.

A man in his early 20s was shot and killed early Sunday after allegedly breaching the secure perimeter of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, the U.S. Secret Service announced. The Secret Service said the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the suspect made an "unauthorized entry" at the property.
The individual was observed near the north gate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can.
Agents and a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) confronted the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Do you believe in Miracles? While not considered nearly as the underdogs when compared to the 1980 team, the U.S. men's ice hockey team has officially written Olympic history.

Friday’s blockbuster ruling on tariffs was hardly welcomed by the Trump administration, but it was also widely expected. The Supreme Court clearly established in its 6-3 decision that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not afford presidents authority to issue sweeping, unilateral tariffs like those imposed by President Trump over the last year.
The justices fractured on other issues. And they left one issue conspicuously unaddressed: What happens to the hundreds of billions of dollars collected from these tariffs so far?

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is facing blowback after unveiling a new $239 million rehabilitation center at the infamous San Quentin prison — complete with a cafe and sweeping views of San Francisco Bay.
Newsom attended the opening of the new San Quentin Learning Center, with the goal of “proving that rehabilitation and public safety go hand in hand,” he said at ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday. The center, which features Scandinavian-inspired design, also includes podcast studios, recording spaces and a store “to normalize social and vocational experiences.”
Critics of the amenity-filled center blasted Newsom for the redesign, saying prisons shouldn’t be cushy.

A planned protest at the Buchenwald concentration camp memorial on the anniversary of its liberation is igniting backlash in Germany for a simple reason: Activists intend to turn a Holocaust commemoration into a contemporary political demonstration.
According to reports, radical organizations are organizing a demonstration at the site on April 11 under the slogan “Keffiyehs in Buchenwald,” accusing the memorial’s management of “spreading Israeli propaganda” and not being “hostile enough toward Israel.” Among the groups involved are the student wing of Germany’s Left Party, the anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for a Just Peace in the Middle East, and the German Communist Party.
The date is not incidental.

Sometimes, the silliness of the Democrats is jaw-dropping with their pot-banging protests, performance theatrics, and rote opposition to every single policy President Donald Trump proposes. Whether his ideas are good or bad for the country does not play a part in their decision-making; all that matters to them is that they thwart him at every turn. [snip] Democrat socialist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani has taken the duplicity to new heights, however, combining idiocy with hypocrisy in just one statement regarding New York City snow removal. You can help out, the mayor said Saturday — just be sure to bring two forms of ID and your Social Security card:

A new FBI memo puts President Joe Biden in the thick of the Mar-a-Lago search of President Donald Trump's home.
The memo puts an end to any rumors or partisan talking points; internal emails and memos outline briefings, coordination, and presidential approval before federal agents entered Trump's home.
In January 2022, the National Archives and Records Administration received 15 boxes of presidential materials from Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. Staff members found documents bearing classified markings, and requested additional materials from Trump's team.
Archivist officials believed more records remained at the property. The dispute moved from paperwork to potential criminal exposure within a matter of months.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson announced on Friday that he was denying a request from the family of former Democratic presidential candidate and civil rights activist Jesse Jackson to allow Jackson to lie in state in the Capitol rotunda.
There was an immediate reaction from many on the left. (X) However, Johnson was absolutely right to deny the Jackson family's request to allow his body to lie in state in the Capitol rotunda.
There are very strict protocols governing who can lie in state. Even former Vice President Dick Cheney was denied that honor. Generally, the honor is reserved for presidents, noted military leaders, and select government officials.

The bank admitted on Friday that “more than 50 Trump accounts” were cut off in February 2021, weeks after the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, according to the New York Times.
The revelation by JPMorgan came after Trump “and the Trump Organization” filed a lawsuit in January against JPMorgan Chase and its CEO, Jamie Dimon, for having debanked the president, according to the outlet.
Per the outlet, accounts that JPMorgan reportedly “debanked” were accounts “for Trump hotels, housing developments and retail shops” in several states, along with “Trump’s personal private banking relationship that handled his inheritance:”

Former Vice President Mike Pence just reminded the MAGA movement what a duplicitous traitor he is — and always has been.
On Friday afternoon, Justices John Roberts, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch joined the court’s three liberal members to strike down President Trump’s signature tariff policy, a central tenet of his 2024 campaign.
Pence, who is widely despised across the conservative grassroots, took to the X platform to celebrate the decision:
Today’s 6-3 ruling by the Supreme Court is a Victory for the American People and a Win for the Separation of Powers enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.

Remember during the first year of the Trump 2.0 administration, when the Justice Department started cleaning house, as part of the process of fixing the immigration system left in tatters by former Pres. Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris? As we wrote, over 100 immigration court judges were either fired or left of their own accord. In another part of the change-over, the Defense Department brought in hundreds of lawyers from the military ranks to serve as judges. That seems to have kicked things into high gear. Syracuse University's TRAC program showed that almost 80 percent of asylum seekers were deported in the last quarter of 2025.

This week, former Obama advisor and current Netflix board member Susan Rice pulled back the curtain on what Democrats plan to do once they’re back in power, and it was pretty fascist.
On Preet Bharara’s podcast, Obama’s scandal-scarred former U.N. ambassador promised that any corporation, law firm, university, or media outlet that “took a knee to Trump” will be targeted when the left is back in charge. “It’s not gonna end well for them,” she warned, casting basic engagement with the Trump administration as a kind of original sin that must be punished.
And now President Donald Trump wants accountability.
On Saturday, Trump called on Netflix to fire Rice.

John Healey said in May that the Government faced a legal challenge “within weeks” if it did not agree to the handover to Mauritius of the islands, including the Diego Garcia military base.
He told MPs the “most potentially serious” threat came from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, which handles maritime disputes. But the Government has now admitted there is an exception to United Nations maritime laws for “disputes concerning military activities”.
The Tories said this admission showed Labour’s legal arguments in favour of handing over the British Indian Ocean Territory to Mauritius had “completely collapsed”.

New York City officials are looking to hire 1,000 emergency snow shovelers as a major winter storm moves toward the region.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani said during a press conference on Saturday that the city is preparing for what could be its most significant snowfall in nearly a decade.
