Trump Buries Obama’s Climate Policy

Original Article

The U.S. government is dismantling the legal foundation of numerous climate protection measures from the era of President Barack Obama. The economy is being freed from the shackles of CO2 fixation. For European businesses, this will soon translate into noticeably higher competitive pressure. February 12, 2026, marks the end of a political era in the United States. On Thursday, President Donald Trump, together with EPA administrator Lee Zeldin, repealed the so-called Endangerment Finding. This is one of the largest deregulation measures in recent U.S. history. Legally, the move primarily deregulates the EPA framework. It is not an executive order or a law passed by Congress.

There are a lot more of Obama's "policies" that deserve a similar demise... especially those related to environment, student loans, and healthcare. Seems that everything the "Magic Negro" touched turned into "gold," but only for Corporations and NGOs that directly benefitted from such policies.

NOTHING Obama did is any good for the residents of the United States. Joe Biden was second worst president in history. Second to Obama who actually got his third term from Biden. Obama definitely the worst. And him not actually being legally eligible for the job which IMO one day after we are all dead historians will agree.

FTA: "Legally, the move primarily deregulates the EPA framework. It is not an executive order or a law passed by Congress. It takes immediate effect but will need congressional confirmation to remain fully secure, avoiding legal side battles and denying NGOs a public platform." So if Congress doesn't do its job - this may come back to life.

I made the mistake of going to The Weather Channel early this morning just to see if anything was heading our way on radar. The first thing I heard: "the Winter Olympics won't be the same in a few years due to climate change". Man, oh man! I gotta remember to NEVER turn that channel on again. They mentioned some other climate change drivel before I could change the channel. How annoying those people are!

#3 This is discussed in the article. This is huge. It is a complete lifting of the fraudulent climate shackles Obama put on Americans. Indeed the Democrats will try to resurrect it if they win power back but it won’t be easy.

BO took climate fables and codified them. Since then, the "science", fake as it was to start, has fallen apart. However, the legal framework dragged on, preventing further careful examination of real science. The argument had been decided by fiat. Trump's change will accomplish immediate regulatory relief but it will reopen the scientific discussion that has trended away for the support for climate threats. It will be almost impossible to rebuild the lie of "consensus" given that all the research is trending away from an existential threat to an annoyance, at best. And even that effect is likely to be caused by events outside the influences of mankind and beyond our control. We will just have to live with it. This is also likely to be a cautionary tale about mixing science and government. Using dubious science to drive government actions is a bad idea because government corrupts science by funding research that confirms outcomes that government wants.

President Trump and the EPA Administrator repealed the Endangerment Finding that the Obama EPA used to justify numerous environmental regulations. The repeal is not an executive order or a law passed by Congress. But, neither was the Endangerment Finding. It was a political policy statement that could best be described as junk science.

San Diego County health officials have issued a warning about “dark times” ahead as more measles cases are confirmed in Southern California. While there has yet to be a case of measles in the county in 2026, neighboring LA and Orange County have confirmed cases and officials there are urging parents to vaccinate their children. A child crying as they receive vaccinations, comforted by an adult. Measles, the world’s most contagious disease, was declared eradicated in America in 2000, but health officials say with vaccine hesitancy, it is slowly making a comeback, leaving children vulnerable. One of the most visible actions after the U.S. Senate failed to pass the House version of a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security this week was Democrats swiftly hightailing it out of Washington, D.C., and heading to Europe for the 62nd Munich Security Conference. Senate Dems were not the only ones eagar to make an appearance at the yearly conference, though, and there's a simple reason for that. In its report, CNN describes the European gathering as a regular pit stop for "politicians to test the foreign policy waters and elevate their own profiles on the international stage ahead of White House runs."

In a major development that could reshape the future of federal election law in the United States, Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) has officially announced her support for the SAVE Act. With Vice President JD Vance prepared to break a tie if necessary, supporters of the legislation now say they have the numbers needed to pass the bill under a standing or “talking” filibuster scenario, marking a potential turning point in the GOP’s long-running effort to implement nationwide voter ID and proof-of-citizenship requirements for federal elections. It can be recalled that Rep. Anna Paulina Luna revealed that Senate leadership is moving toward nuking the so-called “Zombie Filibuster” —

If Iran can drag negotiations across months and years, it no doubt hopes to reach a moment when U.S. pressure weakens, priorities shift, or its leadership changes. In that sense, diplomacy becomes a defensive weapon, an end in itself. Iran's regime has refined its tactics, learned its opponents' weaknesses, and mastered the art of procedural diplomacy: how to slow talks without collapsing them, how to offer symbolic concessions while protecting core interests, and how to appear reasonable while remaining fundamentally intransigent.

President Trump paid a visit to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, earlier today to meet, and presumably decorate, the members of 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, also known as Delta Force or Combat Applications Group, involved in the capture of Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro. Trump also took the time to praise the military, point to his administration's accomplishments, and excoriate the Democrats. The event kicked off with a brief speech by Melania Trump, and she introduced President Trump to the audience. In terms of content, it was pretty much a standard stump speech, somewhat tailored for a military audience.

The Minnesota nonprofit fraud scandal, now expected to cost taxpayers more than $9 billion, is being dismissed by many as an isolated failure. However, this is far from the case, and writing it off as such would be a colossal mistake. What it actually revealed is a broader problem in the Swamp—that institutions claiming to represent others often operate with little accountability and then quietly drift away from the very people who are footing the bill. In Minnesota, nonprofit organizations became the perfect vehicle for abuse—shielded from scrutiny, politically protected, and flush with public money. However, in Washington, trade associations operate in largely the same way.

Unless Virginia voters reject the new congressional district plan created and passed by a Democrat legislature and signed by a “moderate” Democrat governor, Republicans are set to lose four congressional seats they currently hold. The new map allows only one of Virginia’s 11 districts to be represented by a Republican, despite Republicans representing almost half of the Virginia electorate. Meanwhile, Republicans in Indiana refused to redraw their congressional maps because of “principle.” The contrast between Indiana and Virginia gets to the heart of the GOP’s biggest problem.

As British Prime Minister Keir Starmer faces calls to resign for his appointment of Epstein-tied Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the United States, one is struck by the sudden instability of British governments. In the 28 years between 1979 and 2007, Britain had only three prime ministers, while in the 19 years since 2007, it has had seven, and may soon have eight. Only one of those, David Cameron, carried his party to a reelection victory, and he resigned a year after being beaten in the Brexit referendum. It's not just leaders who have stumbled. Even historically long-lasting parties have.

On Wednesday evening, the US House of Representatives voted to once again pass the SAVE America Act, the critical legislation that requires proof of citizenship and voter ID to vote in federal elections. The final vote was 218-213, with only one brave Democrat, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), crossing the aisle to vote in favor of protecting our elections. But the real battle is in the Senate, and the momentum is shifting fast. Just days ago, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) tried to dump cold water on the bill, reportedly dismissing the effort by claiming, “There aren’t anywhere close to the votes.” Thune, who initially hadn’t even signed on—

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is signaling that if there is to be an investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, it should come from Congress rather than the Justice Department. According to exclusive reporting from Semafor, Bessent raised in a closed-door meeting with Senate Republicans the idea that the Senate Banking Committee could investigate Powell rather than leaving the matter to federal prosecutors. This is not a minor procedural debate. It is a fight over whether scrutiny of the Federal Reserve is framed as a criminal matter or as congressional oversight, and that distinction carries real political and constitutional weight.
