Californians have a right to be angry about Minnesota. It’s getting all the federal government attention for its illegal immigration, street violence, fraud and graft when California, in fact, is the king of all those civic sins. Yes, Minnesota and its lead city, Minneapolis, are impressive in the scale of fraud, estimated currently at billions of dollars, according to the Cato Institute’s recent “Fraud Update.” Not bad for a blue state, especially one with just 5.8 million people. But let’s be honest. Minnesota’s inhabitants are mere pikers compared to those in the Golden State. There, the level of fraud and corruption, immigrant and otherwise, has reached shocking levels.

It's easy to understand people moving out of that looney bin, but we all know the big problem: They'll move to another State and begin the same destructive insanity they're now fleeing from. They're nuts.

Pack a state government with thousands of democrats at all levels and the competition for the fruits of fraud is fierce. SEIU and ACLU need to be ejected and Alcatraz reopened.

Maybe DOGE wasn't given enough time to find this easy fraud. Los Angeles having a sudden explosion in home health care immediately after that easy invitation to fraud was created would have been found in one fast computer query. As government programs go, that was one of the dumbest and simplest to scam.

My father had dementia for 3 years. I took care of him while working full time. We couldn't get any help at all. Finally, he had to go to memory care when he began to wander off. Perhaps we could have gotten care if he had been an illegal immigrant instead of a World War II veteran.

Love him or hate him, President Donald Trump’s favorability ratings have plateaued in recent months, despite violent demonstrations in major cities, the possibility of military action against Iran, and continuing concerns among Americans about “affordability,” February’s I&I/TIPP Poll data show. Each month, I&I/TIPP asks voters questions about presidential leadership, the first being: “Overall, is your opinion of Donald Trump generally favorable, generally unfavorable, or are you not familiar enough to say one way or the other?” This month’s online national poll, taken by 1,384 voters, showed virtually no change overall:
The ‘Doomsday Clock’ Ticks Down Again

The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists’ “Doomsday Clock,” which is supposed to be an expert assessment of how close the world is to a nuclear holocaust, ticked down to 85 seconds to midnight this week. Are you scared? You shouldn’t be. The clock has proved to be a terrible measure of doomsday, but a near-perfect measure of the left’s grip on power, reliably moving away from midnight when Democrats are in the White House, and closer to Armageddon during Republican administrations. First, look at the reasons behind why it ticked closer to midnight this year. One of those listed

As most know by now, Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” global warming propaganda film turned 20 a few days ago. It won a couple of Oscars in 2007, one for best documentary. The latter should be returned. The movie was filled with errors. Exalting the celluloid screed with an Academy Award for best documentary is the equivalent of handing the Nobel Peace Prize to a terrorist, an incompetent, a fraud, an unaccomplished charlatan, and, yes, Gore himself, because it was far more a faux-umentary than an honest account of the facts. In the same year that Gore was given his participation trophy,

The arrest of narco-dictator Nicolas Maduro, the quarantine imposed on Venezuela’s oil industry and the collapse of the European Union’s “renewable energy” strategy all have raised a big question in the minds of many Americans: What role should foreign energy play in our policy efforts? This month’s I&I/TIPP Poll’s online national survey of 1,478 adults, taken from Jan. 6 to Jan 9, provides a very clear answer: Access to foreign crude oil and other energy sources is very important to a majority of Americans. The poll’s margin of error is +/-2.9 percentage points. Specifically,

In the early months of 2025, Donald Trump sensibly began to roll back burdensome regulations that had targeted modern conveniences. Now the House has codified a Trump executive order so that the next Democratic president can’t, with the stroke of an autopen, unwind the progress. Now it’s up to the Senate to match the House’s work and make the deregulatory directive law. Still fresh into his second term in the White House, the Trump administration, in the words of Marc Oestreich that are so enjoyable to read that we have to repeat them here, “turned its chainsaws on the Department of Energy (DOE),

Over the weekend, USA Today reported that northeast states were experiencing an unusual winter problem – a shortage of salt. It seems that there have been so many snowstorms this winter that even states like Michigan and Vermont – which are quite accustomed to them – are running short of the snow-melting chemical. “An official from Monroe County, [Michigan] located between Detroit and Ohio, told the news station that local crews used more salt in December than in the past four Decembers combined,” says USA Today. But what’s curiously missing from this and other accounts of the winter storm

Some of us are old enough to remember Matthew Lesko, the lanky, fast-talking late-night TV pitchman who promised people free government money to those who bought his books. There are, Lesko said in one of his countless ads decades ago, “15,000 programs you can use to get a better job, get an education, or start your own business. Those who know about the programs are the ones who get the money!” Lesko was right about how easy it is to get taxpayer money. What Lesko didn’t say is that it’s easy to do even when it violates the law — especially if you live in a state run by Democrats.
Democrats Apparently Hate Western Civilization 7 replies

The West gave the world the Renaissance and the Enlightenment, two of the most important moments in human history. The political left apparently sees them as anathemas, though, and is determined to surrender our hard-earned culture to barbarians. Immigration has always been a part of our American story. But successful immigration depends on assimilation, on the migrants’ ability and willingness to become Americans, which, we have no trouble in asserting, has been heart, mind, and backbone of Western Civilization for at least a century. The U.S. didn’t create Western Civilization, but it has nurtured it and not just kept it alive but enriched it.

Do Americans support President Donald Trump’s decision to seize Venezuela’s leftist dictator Nicolas Maduro, despite a still-raging controversy in the mainstream media over the legality of the arrest? The answer is mostly yes, with some reservations, according to the latest I&I/TIPP Poll. The national online poll of 1,478 adults was taken from Jan. 6 to Jan. 9, mere days after Maduro’s Jan. 3 arrest by the U.S. military on charges of narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, and possession of illegal weapons. The poll has a +/-2.9 percentage point margin of error.

With the economy showing signs of strengthening, Democrats clearly hope that their attacks on ICE will help them win control of Congress after the midterm elections. Which is another reason for President Donald Trump to stay the course. As Politico put it, “An ICE agent’s killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis has pushed the fight over immigration enforcement to the center of the midterm campaign trail — opening new fault lines in some of Democrats’ most competitive congressional primaries.” It is true that the polls are not looking so hot for Trump’s handling of one of his signature campaign promises.

How many times have you heard it said that Barack Obama was “deporter in chief”? How many times did Joe Biden brag that he’d deported more illegal immigrants than Donald Trump had in his first term? Turns out, those were wild distortions of the truth bordering – if you will pardon the pun – on outright lies. In late 2024, for example, we saw stories about how deportations that year were the largest in a decade, beating Trump’s record in what would be his first term. As NPR put it, this meant that “the Republican narrative that the Biden administration has not done anything to combat illegal immigration is just not true.”

The British countryside is in the midst of a diversity drive after a government-commissioned report found it was too 'white' and 'middle-class'. Officials charged with managing some of the country's best known beauty spots have laid out a series of proposals aimed at attracting minorities. In the wake of the report, officials representing National Landscapes - including the Cotswolds and Chilterns - have now published a series of management plans that detail their proposals to attract more minority communities. The Chiltern National Landscape will launch an outreach programme in Luton and High Wycombe targeted at Muslims.

Democrats in the Washington state legislature are pushing a proposal that establishes a list of demographic groups that are presumed to be “socially disadvantaged” for the purposes of state business certification. Based on the breadth of those categories, roughly 70 percent of Washington state residents would fall under the bill’s definition of “socially disadvantaged.” Under existing statute, the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) defines a “socially disadvantaged individual” as someone who has experienced racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias within American society due to group identity, stemming from circumstances beyond the individual’s control. The agency may also determine social disadvantage on a case-by-case basis.

But as Bob Dylan famously observed, things have changed. On Jan. 8, GM announced it would take a $7.1 billion hit in charges against its earnings, of which $6 billion is due to Barra’s failed EV strategy. In a filing with the SEC, the company also warned that it would take more write-downs this year as part of a “strategic realignment of EV capacity.”

During the 2025 gubernatorial election the voters of Virginia believed they were choosing between pragmatic Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger and lackluster Republican Lieutenant Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears. The former was well funded and portrayed favorably by the corporate “news” media as a centrist, while the latter struggled to raise money and was labeled an extremist because of her strong support of gun rights. Spanberger won by double digits and most Virginians thought they were getting a slightly more liberal governor than her predecessor, Glenn Youngkin. Yet the moment she took office, it became obvious that Gov. Spanberger was no moderate.

The visa giveaway is part of President Trump’s zig-zagging between the two sides of his coalition — the voters he needs on election day, and the business donors who provide the funds for political campaigns. Meanwhile, the national media is ignoring the visa giveaway to business because it is focused on the left-wing street groups who are trying to block the deportation of criminal and wage-cutting illegal migrants from Minneapolis.

The group further noted the importance of states working alongside ICE and Customs and Border Protection officials to remove such individuals — including unlawfully present criminals — from America’s streets.

Last year, more people moved out of Colorado to other states than vice versa. Interstate “net migration” was negative. After factoring in births, the state’s overall population increased less than half a percent. That’s the lowest since the oil and gas bust of 1989 nearly a half century ago. These figures put Colorado in the bottom half of population growth. We’re 29th of the 50 states. Neighboring Utah grew at the fifth-highest rate, so Colorado can’t blame it on the demise of the carbon-spewing, environment-wrecking, injury-causing, traffic-jamming ski industry which is mired in a record snow drought.
