Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested an illegal alien with an active deportation order who was just one week away from becoming a New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) officer.
On Tuesday, ICE officials confirmed to Fox News’s Bill Melugin that ICE agents arrested 46-year-old illegal alien Larry Temah of Cameroon in New Orleans, Louisiana.
According to ICE, Temah had recently been recruited to become an NOPD officer and was just a week away from graduating from the NOPD police academy at the time of his arrest.
A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson told Melugin:
This illegal alien from Cameroon, Larry Temah, is not only breaking the law with every step he takes
President Donald Trump’s Small Business Administration (SBA) is stopping the issuance of small business loans to foreign nationals, requiring that a business be 100 percent owned by a U.S. citizen or U.S. national to receive such a loan.
This week, the SBA published a memo requiring that, beginning next month, applicants for the agency’s primary small business loan be American citizens or American nationals.

Democrat Christian Menefee, a former attorney for Houston’s Harris County, has won a special congressional election in a left-leaning congressional district in Texas, which has been vacant for nearly a year.
The Associated Press reports that Menefee defeated former Houston City Council member Amanda Edwards, a fellow Democrat, in Saturday’s runoff election to fill the seat left vacant when Democratic Rep. Sylvester Turner died last March.
Menefee’s victory means the Republicans’ razor-thin House majority — they currently control the chamber 218-213 — will shrink by one seat when Menefee is sworn in to Congress.
The federal government is set to end Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, for Haitians on Feb. 3.
This means some Haitian immigrants living in Springfield, Ohio, will no longer be able to work or live legally in the United States. City officials estimate that about 12,000-15,000 Haitian people live in Springfield.
A U.S. District Court judge is currently reviewing whether to suspend the expiration of TPS for Haitians.
TPS is granted by the Department of Homeland Security for people from specific countries deemed unsafe, according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website.

Organizations including the Chinese-American Planning Council and the Chinese Progressive Association — both of which have ties to the Chinese Communist Party’s overseas influence network — are among the signatories urging Congress to defund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol.
Those groups joined more than 1,000 organizations in a coordinated letter demanding that lawmakers halt all funding for federal immigration enforcement agencies, a move that would effectively eliminate interior enforcement and deportation operations nationwide. The letter, organized by Amnesty International USA, does not call for reforms or oversight but for the removal of enforcement capacity itself.
