Marco Rubio, Rand Paul Joust Over Trump’s
Maduro Operation

Secretary of State Marco Rubio argued with Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul Wednesday over whether the U.S.’ capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro was an “act of war.” [snip]Rubio argued that Maduro’s capture does not “come anywhere close” to the constitutional definition of an act of war.[snip]Paul expressed disagreement with Rubio by stating that if any country captured the U.S. president in the same kind of operation carried out in Venezuela, he would declare war. Rubio said the U.S. is always going to act in its national interest and protection.

Comments:

Paul is equating a lawless, unconscionable thug with a lawful head of state. That kind of equivalency is destructive of the righteous standard of the rule of law.

Note to Rand Paul - the US is not shipping drugs into Venezuela. They, along with Mexico/China, are shipping drugs into the US. We have a right to protect our citizens, so stop being such a troublemaker!

Psssst...Ms Paul, VENEZUELA doesn't consider itself to be at WAR. Millions of her people took to the streets to celebrate, similar celebrations and marches followed all around the world., The remaining heads of the Govt there are working in conjunction/cooperation with the USA. Yer trying to act all Historical, but coming across as hysterical.

The Most Socialist System in America Is

America loves to debate socialism. We argue about universal healthcare, guaranteed income, student loan forgiveness, and government dependency. We pride ourselves on our rugged independence and belief in free markets. We warn that socialism destroys innovation, freedom, and personal responsibility. But here’s the uncomfortable truth most Americans never stop to consider: the most centrally planned, government-dependent, subsidy-driven system in the United States isn’t medicine, housing, or energy—it’s food. Our food system is not a free market. It is not capitalism in any recognizable form.

President Trump said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem will not step down despite growing calls for her resignation. “No,” he told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House when asked if she’d resign.“I think she’s doing a very good job.” Noem is facing criticism for her handling of the fallout after two people were killed in altercations with federal agents. She sought to portray Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old armed ICU nurse, and Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother, as domestic terrorists. The White House has distanced itself from that tough rhetoric but will keep Noem on the job

Christianity Today recently published its overview of the 2026 Open Doors World Watch List, identifying the 50 countries where it is most dangerous to live openly as a Christian. While Christianity Today focuses on Syria, newly vaulted into the Top 10, the larger story is more global. According to Open Doors, more than 388 million Christians now live under high levels of persecution or discrimination. That is roughly 1 in 7 believers worldwide. The trend is not driven by a single ideology or region but by a mix of fragile states, militant Islam, criminal networks and increasingly authoritarian governments.

Prominent Republicans and gun rights advocates helped elicit a White House turnabout this week after bristling over the administration’s characterization of Alex Pretti, the second person killed this month by a federal officer in Minneapolis, as responsible for his own death because he lawfully possessed a weapon. But important voices in Trump’s coalition have called for a thorough investigation of Pretti’s death while also criticizing inconsistencies in some Republicans’ Second Amendment stances.
