The recent presidential elections in Honduras felt like the never-ending story in recent weeks, but we can officially report that Nasry "Tito" Asfura is the winner. He's the conservative candidate who was backed by Donald Trump earlier this year. It was close. Asfura received just over 40% of the vote, while center-right candidate Salvador Nasralla got about 39.5%. The far-left socialist candidate, Rixi Moncada, who was hand-picked by the sitting president received about 19% of the vote. The inauguration is scheduled for Jan. 27, 2026, and, despite initial claims of fraud, current president Xiomara Castro promises there will be a peaceful transition of power. President Donald Trump said the U.S. launched airstrikes in northwest Nigeria on Christmas night targeting ISIS militants he accused of killing Christians, calling the operation decisive and warning further attacks would follow if the violence continues. Politico is framing the celebration of Christmas as a “far-right” front in Europe, arguing that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her party have made it a “spectacle.” Conservative social media users blasted the left-wing outlet’s Wednesday article, “How the far right stole Christmas,” authored by Rome correspondent Hannah Roberts. “Not a ‘far right’ concept.. politico is such a joke,” wrote podcast host Mel K: “Wow, imagine marking Christmas as being Christian. Revolutionary thinking in Europa,” wrote former Breitbart News journalist Chris Tomlinson: In the Christmas Eve piece, Roberts wrote that the holiday “is becoming a new front line in Europe’s culture wars,”

As we reported on Tuesday, the Supreme Court refused to stay a lower court order blocking the Trump administration from deploying National Guard troops in Illinois. Many conservatives were outraged, complaining that since the advent of President Trump 2.0, judges at all levels have been doing everything in their power to kneecap his agenda. The Supreme Court has issued some favorable decisions along the way — but not this time. One person who was not amused was a Supreme Court justice himself: Justice Samuel Alito, and his dissent on the case doesn’t mince words about his displeasure with what he sees as "unwise" and "imprudent" determinations made by the 6-3 majority.

South Carolina Republicans are taking a victory lap. In an off-year election, days before a major holiday, they managed to pull off wins for three state legislator seats. Former state senator Lee Bright put his hat back into the ring and won the District 12 seat, gaining 68 percent of the vote over a progressive write-in candidate. The results are clear from Tuesday’s special election — Lee Bright is heading back to the South Carolina Senate to represent District 12. He won with 68.43% of the vote, while the remaining 31.57% of the vote went toward write-in ballots. Bright, known for his vocal conservatism,

There’s an episode of The Simpsons from the third season where the character Sideshow Bob marries Bart's Aunt Selma to kill her. When his scheme falls apart and he's hauled back to jail, he shouts, "I'll be back. You can't keep the Democrats out of the White House forever, and when they get in, I'm back on the streets with all my criminal buddies." I thought about that line today when I read that under Trump's second term, the United States is on track for the most significant single-year drop in murders ever recorded. According to Asher's Real-Time Crime Index (RTCI), the United States is on track for the biggest single-year

CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss created a firestorm when she recently pulled a 60 Minutes piece about illegal aliens and CECOT, the prison in El Salvador. Weiss made it clear in a memo to staff this week that she expected more from them in that story and what they put out to the public. One of the main things that she thought was missing in the piece was a new comment from the Trump administration. The 60 Minutes correspondent, Sharyn Alfonsi, defended their reporting in an email to colleagues after the story was pulled. "We requested responses to questions and/or interviews

President Donald Trump is continuing to ratchet up pressure on Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro, saying it would be "smart" for him to step down and warning him not to play "tough." Trump, taking reporter questions at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on Monday evening, was directly asked if his administration's ultimate goal in Venezuela is to force Maduro from power. "Well, I think it probably would. I can't tell him. That's up to him what he wants to do. I think it would be smart for him to do that. But again, we're going to find out," Trump said.

More U.S. assets including special ops aircraft and troops arrived in the Caribbean this week as Donald Trump reiterated on Monday that ground-based operations targeting drug traffickers in Venezuela would soon begin, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis. The most recent deployments occurred this week, according to the Journal, days before the Christmas holiday and occurring as the president unveiled his plans for new “Trump-class” warships during a special announcement from Palm Beach, Florida, with his top Cabinet aides, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Washington — The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a bid by the Trump administration to deploy National Guard members to the Chicago area while a legal challenge moves forward, delivering a setback to President Trump in his effort to use federalized troops in Illinois to ensure enforcement of federal immigration laws. The high court left untouched a judge's decision blocking the government from putting National Guard members on the streets of Chicago and surrounding areas. The Trump administration had urged the Supreme Court to allow the extraordinary move to deploy the troops over the objection of Illinois' Democratic governor, arguing that federal courts cannot second-guess

Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) released a report Tuesday detailing $1.6 trillion in government waste, in keeping with his annual “Festivus” tradition of airing grievances against wasteful federal spending. A whopping $1.2 trillion of that wasteful spending is interest payments on the ballooning national debt, according to the report, which contains numerous examples of government programs Paul considers to be useless and fiscally irresponsible. “Last Festivus, we clamored over the national debt reaching over an astronomical $36 trillion. Once in Tampa Bay, I saw a big fat guy on a motorcycle. He was riding without a helmet — while chain-smoking cigarettes — and gripping a bag of Arby’s takeout. That’s right: ARBY’S! (Gasp!) What a maniac! I thought, “Wow, talk about not caring about your health even a little bit.” Of course, it’s entirely possible that the guy was the pinnacle of health and fitness, with a lower cholesterol level than me. It’s possible he’ll live to 100, smoking Marlboros and gorging on Arby’s long after we’re all dead and buried. You never know for sure. Genetic diversity is a real thing in medicine.

WASHINGTON — For Christmas, former President Joe Biden gave everyone scrolling through X something to talk about by sharing a strange family photo — with himself hardly visible. Biden, 83, shared the image of himself and seven members of his family around 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, writing: “Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love.” Surprisingly, the gaffe-prone 46th president wasn’t front and center, as is common for family patriarchs. Instead, former first son Hunter Biden, who once used the Secret Service code name “Chieftain,” and his adult daughter Maisy occupy the prime location. Islam is simply incompatible with Western civilization, and that couldn’t be more evident considering the 2025 Christmas and Hanukkah season. We get it rubbed in our faces, time and time again, with one massacre after another. These aren’t just lone gunmen who go nuts. These are organized terrorism cells. Bondi Beach, a massacre allegedly committed by two Muslims (father and son), is only the latest example. San Bernardino, California was the scene of a similar massacre by two Muslims (husband and wife). Nineteen Muslims, backed up by the wealth of other Muslims, gave us 9/11. Only Islam commands its followers to “kill the infidels.”

For as long as anyone can remember, Americans have been told the same number over and over again. Eleven million illegal immigrants have taken up “space” in the USA. That’s the figure we’ve heard for what seems like decades now, like it’s carved in stone or something. But it’s just not adding up. It seems like that number didn’t budge much through waves of border surges. It feels like we’ve been told eleven million for a really long time, and quite frankly, a lot of people don’t buy it anymore.
