Following the fatal shooting of one National Guard member and the injury of another in Washington, DC, the George W. Bush Institute is urging against broadly targeting Afghan immigration applicants in response to the actions of a single individual.
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national who previously worked with a CIA-backed partner force in Kandahar and entered the U.S. in 2021 through the Biden administration’s Operation Allies Welcome, has been arraigned and is facing charges in the Thanksgiving-week ambush-style shooting that left 20-year-old Spc. Sarah Beckstrom dead and critically injured 24-year-old Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe.
Following the attack, U.S. immigration authorities announced an immediate and indefinite pause on immigration processing

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has agreed to hold elections if there is a ceasefire. However, eastern Ukraine citizens, those currently living in the Donbas region, who are supportive of Russia, will not be permitted to vote. This creates a rather bizarre official hypocrisy within the Zelenskyy regime. The official position of Zelenskyy is that Eastern Ukraine will never be accepted as a part of the Russian federation.
Zelenskyy has recently noted, with EU leadership support, that his government will never recognize Eastern Ukraine as part of the Russian federation. However, this same region, approximately 20% of Ukraine, will not be permitted to participate in his controlled election.

And the (electrical vehicle) hits just keep on coming.
Just a day after car manufacturing giant Ford Motors announced that it was eating a sizable $19.5 billion bullet for putting too many of its eggs into the EV basket, a WIVB-TV report is pouring even more cold water on the left’s EV craze.
As New York shifts to meet a new statewide mandate requiring all purchased school buses to be electric, parents have already identified a significant issue — especially in the rather chilly Empire State.
According to WIVB, parents “in the Lake Shore Central School District are speaking out, claiming some bus drivers are turning the heat down, or off completely,

The Australian state of New South Wales is proposing to ban public displays of Islamic State group flags or extremist symbols after a mass shooting driven by antisemitism killed 15 people at Sydney’s Bondi Beach. Under draft laws to be debated by the state Parliament, publicly displaying the IS flag or symbols from other extremist groups will be offenses punishable by up to two years in prison and fines. The state’s premier, Chris Minns, also said chants of “globalize the intifada” will be banned and police would be given greater powers to demand protesters remove face coverings at demonstrations.

More than a dozen files tied to notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein mysteriously vanished from the Justice Department’s website just one day after the agency released the massive, long-awaited trove of documents and photos to the public, according to reports.
At least 16 files — among thousands available Friday — were taken down with no explanation from the government, leading to criticism from Democrats on Capitol Hill.
The missing docs included images of nude female paintings — and according to the Dems, a picture of a desk that had numerous framed photos on it and some photos piled in an open drawer.

San Francisco plunged into darkness when nearly 30 percent of the city was struck by a power outage, which brought vital transportation, such as self-driving cars, to a grinding halt on Saturday night.
Over 130,000 houses and businesses were left in the dark, largely in the northwest part of San Francisco,[snip]
The company shut down its operation at around 8 p.m. because the cars were unable to operate without traffic signals. Residents shared footage of the Waymo vehicles parked with their hazards flashing

The murder of Hollywood Director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner by Reiner’s 32-year-old adult son Nick has become another front in the ongoing political war. Nick is a long-time drug addict, in and out of rehab many times, and often homeless on the streets of multiple states. He reportedly trashed his parent’s home at least once in the past, and some reports suggest he was diagnosed with schizophrenia not long before the alleged murders, apparently committed with a knife or other sharp object.
Rob Reiner was perhaps best known for his writing and directing, particularly the classic rock “mockumentary” This is Spinal Tap. He’ll certainly

Much of the mainstream news this week has been, in my opinion, partisan or devoted to less-than-significant matters. Does it really matter if the Trump-appointed board that saved the Kennedy Center from going to wrack and ruin has added his name to the building? Were you really surprised that Bill Clinton, not Trump, was pictured in the released Epstein files cavorting with women whose faces were blacked out because they were either minors or victims? (Snip) I think the important and underreported stories of the week, are different -- the growing fractures in the European Union and the Administration’s lowering the boom on richly rewarded migration sponsors.

The assaults resulted in the beheading of 30 Christians, widespread arson, and the destruction of at least five churches and 100 homes. Many other Christians — including women and their daughters — were herded away. — Daily Express, Ocotber 8 2025, Mozambique.

The New York Times acknowledged in a recent report that there has never been any evidence connecting President Donald Trump to the criminal activities of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, despite years of public speculation and repeated claims pushed by Democratic officials. The article, written by Times reporters Nicholas Confessore and Julie Tate, was based on interviews with “more than 30 former employees of Jeffrey Epstein, victims of his abuse and others who crossed paths with Mr. Epstein and President Trump.”

A man who recently quit his job at the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) says that translator services are helping illegal aliens cheat to get state driver’s licenses despite a lack of English proficiency or understanding the rules of the road, and without even taking a road test.
John Morin, who worked for the BMV as a license examiner for more than a decade, said that he watched as translating services helped migrants cheat on driver’s exams by directly providing the migrants with the answers to the tests, not just offering to help them understand the questions during their exam,

Lawrence, Massachusetts, Mayor Brian DePena appeared in court on Friday, where he required a translator to participate in proceedings at a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission proceeding on Friday.
The hearing concerned former Lawrence Police Chief William Castro, a political ally of DePena, who was stripped of his policing credentials following an improper police chase. Castro was accused of driving the wrong way down a city street during the chase and filing a false police report, claiming he was responding to an armed bank robbery when he had actually been responding to someone attempting to cash a bad check.
