A nationally recognized advocate for LGBTQ+ rights based in Monmouth County is facing charges of child endangerment and assault following an incident last month in his Neptune City home. Christian Fuscarino, executive director of Garden State Equality, is charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child by a caretaker and two counts of simple assault, according to court documents. His attorney, Mitchell Ansell, called the matter a “difficult personal family moment.”

Comments:

Absolutely horrible, yet completely predictable.

He was full on slapping the kid in the face and pushed him against the wall. The article did not say how old the child is. Truly dreadful.

It's not what you think. This is a parent apparently punishing a child. He punished the child physically and, it appears, excessively. Before saying anything else, let me be clear: It's not what I would do, and I absolutely want to protect this child. However, how excessive depends on many other things as posters above pointed out. How old is the child? What triggered this? How hard were the slaps? Was there physical harm? Is there some other mitigating factor--e.g. was the child engaging in conduct that was dangerous or harmful to others? However, even without knowing these things, it sounds like the parent was out of control. And that makes this dangerous. The first thing you have to do when you discipline a child is discipline yourself. Never punish a child in anger, and certainly not with any intent to harm. Discipline has to be measured, purposely, proportionate, and genuinely intended to teach rather than to punish. I've learned this the hard way, both ways. I grew up in an era where corporal punishment was a mainstay of childhood discipline. Not just parents, but others fulfilling parental roles, could spank youngsters and often did. My first day at school, the principal picked up a misbehaving boy who had sassed him and shook him against the wall. The other four culprits (I was one of them) watched, learned, and decided never to sass that principal. He was a good principal, and I found out much later, a kind and gentle man. That day, he may have done some good for the four of us. I hope the child is protected, just as I hope parents' right to discipline their children appropriately are not unduly infringed by bureaucrats.

It seems to be a trend that pro-LGBTQ persons tend to have anger issues, most likely caused by some internal conflict. Hitting a minor in the face is not okay. A large percentage of Antifa are trans and that is no coincidence.

Rosie O’Donnell made good on her promise to leave the country if Donald Trump returned to the White House. And apparently, she had a good reason for her personal health. Rosie O’Donnell has admitted she was “drinking too much” during Donald Trump’s first term in the White House - and during his recent presidential campaign, she vowed she would leave the country if he was elected again. The American talk show host revealed last month that she and her 12-year-old child Clay moved to Dublin, Ireland, to escape the Trump presidency. Since her grandparents were Irish, she is eligible to get citizenship, but said her application has yet to be approved.

A student organization at the state’s largest Catholic university has canceled an LGBTQ-themed bingo event after it received multiple hateful messages. Seton Hall Hillel, the student-run Jewish organization at Seton Hall University, had scheduled “Drag Bingo” for Tuesday at 6 p.m. A social media post on Monday announced its cancellation. “What was meant to be a joyful (belated) celebration of Purim — a holiday that embraces resilience, Jewish pride, inclusivity, and joy — instead became a target for hostility as our Hillel community received unacceptable, hateful messages in response," the statement read.

The new CEO of a New Jersey government investigative commission is resigning after it was reported she lives in another state and has another job. A story from Asbury Park Press says State Investigations Commission CEO Tiffany Williams Brewer only shows up to work once, maybe twice a week. Her primary address is in Maryland, and she works at Howard University three days a week. Williams Brewer was named acting CEO after former Chief Chadd Lackey died in a car accident last year. On Jan. 1, she ditched the acting title and her salary increased from $175,000 to $210,000 — more than Lackey was making.

This is a scary moment in America, and we need a leader who won’t exploit the chaos. Someone who can strike just the right tone – with humanity, and moral clarity – that trickles down to other leaders in both parties, reminding us of our values, our better selves. Joe Biden rose to the occasion. He expressed sincere empathy for Donald Trump and other victims of Saturday’s horrific attack, including a father killed while protecting his family from bullets. He called on all Americans to “lower the temperature in our politics,” and to reject violence in any form. He did his part, dialed it down, .

At some point, there will be no news about the Ford Motor Company’s electric vehicle fiasco. But we’re not there yet, as the most recent reports show that the automaker is paying dearly for its commitment to a Potemkin market built by a government that promised favors to companies that would follow its agenda. Reuters calls it “the most dramatic example yet of the auto industry’s retreat from battery-powered models,”

Do you know what a “neopronoun” or a “xeopronoun” is? The teachers’ unions want to make sure your little kids do. Earlier this month, the National Education Association held an “Advancing LGBTQ+ Justice” event. Documents obtained by the education watchdog group Defending Education (full disclosure: I am on the group’s board) contained slides illustrating these neo- and xeopronouns. Neopronouns are “new” “pronouns” such as “xe/xem/xyr,” and other letters randomly shoved together. Xeopronouns are for “conceptual identities” such as “cat/cats/catself.” Got it? No? But our kids are being force-fed this garbage in America’s public schools.

My family has a long history with Ford trucks. Among my earliest memories is riding in the 1950 Ford F-1 my Dad had when he was farming; the Old Man later kept a 4-wheel-drive F-250 on his place for various chores. I've had a bunch, from a 1984 Ford Ranger, two Broncos, a 1999 Ranger, and now the F-350 Super Duty we call the Behemoth. I like Ford trucks, and reckon I'll keep on driving them. On Tuesday, Ford gave me more reason to favor them by finally dropping the F-150 "Lightning," an all-electric version of Ford's famous top-seller. Ford Motor Co. is pivoting away from its once-ambitious electric vehicle plans

Go ahead and file this one under 'You Don't Hate the Media Enough.' ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) Global Affairs Editor Laura Tingle raised eyebrows during a recent podcast where she—not once, but twice—declared that the targeted terrorist attack at Sydney's Bondi Beach on Sunday evening was not motivated by religion. The target of the attack was a Hanukkah celebration to mark the first night of the Jewish holiday. The alleged perpetrators, as noted by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who himself would love nothing more than to shift the blame onto inanimate guns, were inspired by ISIS. The attackers had an ISIS flag on the window of their car.
