On Twitter, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer tweeted, "Let me be perfectly clear: Undocumented people CANNOT AND WILL NOT receive ACA premium tax credits BY LAW. PERIOD. This is a LIE from Republicans to divert attention from their shutdown. Republicans are refusing to lower healthcare costs for the American people." The capitalization was his. It is a talking point to distract from the truth. CNN's Jake Tapper pointed out to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, "What you support does bring back funding for emergency Medicaid to hospitals, some of which does pay for undocumented immigrants and people who don't have health insurance.

A while back, I argued that we need to make Republicans afraid again. Afraid for their jobs.
In light of recent events, that's probably not the best wording possible, but the sentiment still holds. There aren't really many pro-gun Democrats holding office these days, so we have to count on Republicans exclusively to hold the line.
That's less than ideal because, like any other political party, almost no one is in complete lockstep with their party on every single issue. For some of them, they're open to at least some gun control.

Jones, who at the time had recently resigned from the state house after a brief stint representing Norfolk, had strong feelings about how the political class was eulogizing recently deceased former state legislator Joe Johnson Jr., a moderate Democrat with a long tenure in Virginia politics. Republican legislators like House Speaker Todd Gilbert had begun making public statements honoring Johnson’s memory and political legacy, and some of those statements were making the rounds in state legislative group chats.
Around 8 a.m., Jones shared those feelings with his former state legislative colleague, Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyner. In a series of text messages obtained by National Review,

Republican Senator Ted Cruz did not mince words when talking about a proposed stock exchange based in his home state of Texas, and the “jihadist radical” who’s poised to be the next mayor of New York City.
“Texas wins SEC [Securities and Exchange Commission] approval for a new stock exchange that will challenge the New York Stock Exchange up here in the blue state of New York,” Larry Kudlow said Wednesday night on Fox Business’s “Kudlow”.
“And here’s another one for you. You may have seen it in the paper. JPMorgan, the great banking operation,

Although it appeared, as this article went to print, that Hamas would not accept President Trump’s historic 20-point Gaza Peace Plan without substantial changes, the beauty of this plan is that it may bring peace to the Middle East and initiate a process to rebuild Gaza, regardless of what Hamas decides. This is because, due to President Trump’s leadership, Arab states, the Palestinian Authority, and Israel support this plan; the war will soon end, and a process to rebuild and secure Gaza will proceed, even if Hamas rejects the plan.
Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar support the 20-point plan. Even the Palestinian Authority (PA),

The Justice Department on Wednesday fired the top national security prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Michael Ben’Ary was fired after investigative reporter Julie Kelly publicly called him out as a top advisor to Lisa Monaco.
Recall that Lisa Monaco was an Obama-Biden partisan hack who targeted Trump and threatened to indict top Republicans for January 6.
Monaco was part of Obama’s secret team that met in the White House basement in 2016 to discuss how to set up Donald Trump in their Trump-Russia collusion sham.

ALBANY — New York issued a driver’s license to a migrant — but didn’t require a first name.
The revelation came as Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said a man caught up in a raid that ensnared 125 illegal immigrants in his state had a New York commercial driver’s license with “No Name Given” in the place of his first and middle monikers.
“If New York wants to hand out CDLs to illegal immigrants with ‘No Name Given,’ that’s on them. The moment they cross into Oklahoma, they answer to our laws,” the Republican wrote in a social media post Monday, along with a picture of the license.

The arrests have been part of ICE’s Operation Midway Blitz — in honor of 20-year-old Katie Abraham, who was killed with her friend Chloe Polzin in a hit-and-run drunk driving crash caused by an illegal alien in the sanctuary state.
“During Operation Midway Blitz, DHS law enforcement has made more than 800 arrests across Illinois,” the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement:

Historically, Americans have been less susceptible than Europeans to antisemitism. But since October 7, 2023, American Jews have found themselves squarely in the crosshairs of the political left and the political right. Assigned a symbolic role by both fringes, American Jews are caught in the cross fire as progressive internationalists and extreme isolationists battle each other for control of the traditional middle of the country.
On the left, antisemitism takes the form of anti-Zionism. Its emblem is the “tentifadas” on elite campuses. Universities that style themselves champions of diversity now host chants for Israel’s eradication.

Over the past week, Ecuador has undergone a series of violent protests, strikes, and blockades across some of its provinces led by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE) in response to President Noboa’s mid-September decision to end diesel fuel subsidies in the country. The violent protests have so far reportedly left one protester dead and 12 injured military officials On Sunday, President Noboa personally led a humanitarian convoy alongside other government officials and international representatives to the city of Otavalo, Imbabura, one of the municipalities most affected by the ongoing strikes and violent protests.

The bomb squad was dispatched to the scene on Tuesday when the device was reported just outside a building on the Utah State University campus. Administrators had already been taking extra security measures due to “heightened concerns” ahead of the Turning Point USA event — the first in Utah since the assassination of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk. Though the device was deemed to be “non-explosive,” video showed members of the bomb squad yelling, “fire in the hole,” before a loud bang sounded off. Take a look:

Election Day 2025 is just around the corner. While it may not be covered with the same intensity as the 2026 midterm elections, Democrats can no longer afford to focus on what happened in 2024.
To win upcoming elections, my fellow Democrats must go beyond criticizing President Trump’s awful actions and policies. They must advocate for programs that most people believe will improve their lives by making America more affordable.Democratic candidates are doing this now as they campaign in the only two races for governor this year, in Virginia and New Jersey. If they win the Nov. 4 elections,
