I'm fond of saying that we solve today's problems with tomorrow's technology. Now, we have a brilliant example of just that, and better still, this piece of tomorrow's technology that is under development today is not only a great discovery, it's a thumb in the eye of one of America's major geopolitical rivals - China. That's an unalloyed good thing.

Uh---is is just me or does "Professor Jin-Ping" sound like a solid American to you? Sounds like another Chinese guy working here. And so many of these folks take their developments back China with them. Hope this isn't the case, but I would be more comfortable with the title's "American Ingenuity" if the discovery was made by someone named "John Smith" or "Betty McDonald".

The reason that Americans is so inventive, even if they immigrants, is that they have the freedom to enquire and get rewarded for their hard work. Remember that Einstein was a German born to Jewish parents that became an American citizen when Hitler came to power. His contributions helped to build American strength and technical prowess. Other countries try to win through political and business maneuvering. Americans do it through innovation, finding alternatives that are often cheaper and better. China is going to be left holding the bag of rare earths that no one wants at the prices China is charging. Much of China's success in the last few decades has been gained by stealing technology. They would provide cheap labor, build things, and steal the technology. Then they would sell their own versions of things without paying royalties. That pipeline is drying up because American companies know working with the Chinese is a trap. Better to manufacture in the US and keep your business.

On a related note, Exxon is beginning to mine lithium in southern Arkansas, by producing formation water from the Smackover formation, at depths ranging from 10,000 to 12,000'. Those lithium reserves could be equal to all of the other known lithium deposits in terms of reserves. And no slave labor is involved!

While this is good news that there is an alternative to the rare earths issue, I would not be surprised to see some Democrat Governor, Senator, Congressperson or President to work on restricting access to U.S. Iron Ore deposits, however. I recall Bill Clinton restricting access to some minerals in Utah, I believe, which just so happened to be something that Indonesia, his very good friend James Riady happened to own. How once the restriction on the land use was in place the price of that mineral went up substantially which benefited his friend by millions.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem revealed Thursday nearly two million illegal aliens have self-deported since President Donald Trump took office in January. DHS has implemented a number of programs and used a series of tactics to promote self deportation. "In her first 200 days as secretary, DHS also launched an international, multimillion-dollar ad campaign warning illegal aliens to LEAVE NOW because if they don’t, we will arrest them and deport them. This new data shows illegal aliens are hearing our message," DHS adds in a statement.

Congress’s slashing of federal funding has resulted in one of the most useless agencies shutting down operations. The far-left Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced in a press release on Friday that they were going to begin the process of closing down for good, despite a supposed outcry from millions of Americans. The organization cited the shutdown due to the passage of the rescissions package last month and the release of the Senate Appropriations Committee’s FY 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (Labor-H) appropriations bill.
Today’s Non-Progressive Progressives 4 replies

he Democratic Party is in sad shape, by its own self-report and in the view of most observers. At the same time, the party is seemingly more progressive and more dominated by progressives than it has been for a good long time. Are the two things related? Yes, they are—but not in the way most people think. The problem isn’t that progressives have made the party too progressive; the problem is rather that today’s progressives aren’t really progressive in the true sense of the term and as a result have led the party into a number of political cul-de-sacs that have nothing to do with progress and dramatically undermine its appeal.

Barack Obama wants you to think he had nothing to do with the Russia collusion hoax, but that lie is unraveling fast. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has declassified a trove of documents that expose how the Obama administration faked the January 2017 intelligence report to falsely accuse Trump of colluding with Russia. The evidence includes a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report, which confirms that despite no cyber interference from Russia, Obama pushed for a new intelligence community assessment (ICA) in late 2016 to shape a narrative that Putin was helping Trump. It was all part of a desperate attempt to undermine a duly elected president.

With a new president in charge and the Department of Justice not looking to give Democrats anymore passes, Sen. Adam Schiff's chickens may finally be coming home to roost. As RedState reported back in 2023, the senator claimed a Maryland home as his "primary residence" on a federally-insured loan document. By doing so, he secured a lower mortgage rate. The problem? He's a politician from Burbank, CA, who would not have been eligible to hold the elected offices he held from 2003-2025 if his primary residence were in another state. So one way or the other, it looks like Schiff lied.

In their heedless rush to enact a deficit-exploding tax bill so massive that they barely understand it, Senate Republicans call to mind a scene in The Sopranos. A group of young aspiring gangsters decides to stick up a Mafia card game in hopes of gaining the mobsters’ respect and being brought into the crew. At the last moment, the guys briefly reconsider, before one of them supplies the decisive argument in favor of proceeding: “Let’s do it before the crank wears off...” Like the Mafia wannabes, congressional Republicans have talked themselves into a plan so incomprehensibly reckless that to describe it is to question its authors’ sanity.

Wisconsin’s liberal‑controlled Supreme Court, locked in a 4–3 ideological split, refused to intervene in Democratic efforts to redraw the state’s GOP‑dominated congressional map. Democrats claim the maps are a gerrymandered power grab, crying foul as they see their roadmap to regaining House control vanish. The Elias Law Group and Campaign Legal Center filed dual petitions in May, urging the Court to invalidate the 6‑2 Republican‑leaning congressional configuration, claiming it violates the state’s constitutional promise of equal representation.

With respect to Israel and Iran, talk of peace is in the air. We are beset with calls from various quarters to “de-escalate” the situation there, lest wider war break out. President Trump, who partnered with Israel in deceiving Iran prior to Israel’s preemptive strike, is now talking about making another deal with Iran. I hope he doesn’t mean it. The last thing Israel, or anyone else, should be thinking about is another agreement with the mullahs.

In the 1960s and 1970s, a totalitarian movement almost destroyed the republic. Now it threatens to do so again.Recently, I wrote an essay on the late 19th-century Russian pogroms that forced my great-grandparents to flee to the United States. I observed the striking and foreboding parallels between that old eruption of Jew-hatred and the rise of Red-Green Alliance antisemitism in the United States. I did so to highlight a peculiar irony of history: None of this is new.

Death Penalty for Kirk Assassin? Bad Idea 38 replies

I am not opposed to using the death penalty for specific heinous crimes. Certainly, it was warranted for Timothy McVeigh, and Charlie Kirk’s killing was indeed heinous. However, the alleged assassin is Tyler Robinson and that gives me pause, because there are thousands of Tylers out there ready to make him a martyr. This hate-filled, deluded, brainwashed community has been groomed deliberately by a Machiavellian academia since the 1960s. There was a time when public education institutions were staffed with unbiased professors and educated their students with genuine facts and encouraged independent thought. That was back then.

We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.” A Disney spokeswoman did not immediately return a request for comment. President Trump signed an executive order Monday designating the shadowy, left-wing group Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization,” according to the White House. The order comes after Trump teased slapping a terror label on the radical “anti-fascist” group last week. “I hereby designate Antifa as a ‘domestic terrorist organization,’” read the president’s order. “All relevant executive departments and agencies shall utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations – especially those involving terrorist actions — conducted by Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa, or for which Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa provided material support,

The Jerusalem Post reports Thunberg, who joined a previous run at the Israeli naval blockade around Gaza in June, appeared on the Global Sumud Flotilla’s website as part of its leadership committee. At least, that was until last Sunday. Now that posting has been removed. Before setting sail earlier this month, Thunberg said: “This project is part of a global uprising of people standing up…

Sinclair Broadcast Group abruptly cancelled plans to air a Charlie Kirk tribute last week after the company’s local ABC affiliates received multiple violent threats — forcing the firm to move the program to YouTube just minutes before it was scheduled to begin, The Post has learned. The Baltimore-based local TV giant, which owns more than 40 ABC affiliates, yanked the Charlie Kirk tribute late Friday after it was alerted to “local threats directed at specific local ABC stations resulting from [the] ABC suspension” of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, a source close to the situation told The Post.

Before last Friday’s House vote on a symbolic resolution condemning the assassination of Charlie Kirk and all forms of political violence while honoring his life, the purported leaders of the Democratic Caucus informed its members that they would support the measure. Yet, in a truly vile floor speech prior to the vote, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) called the resolution “reckless” and claimed Kirk’s “rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant, uneducated, and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans.” In the end, less than half of the Democrats voted for the resolution. The rest stood with AOC.

According to reports, the now-dismantled system included over 300 servers and 100,000 fake SIM cards that could have been used to overwhelm the 911 network and disable large portions of the city's cell tower network. The dismantled system consisted of over 300 SIM servers and more than 100,000 SIM cards spread within a 35-mile radius of the United Nations headquarters. Investigators say the network could have blacked out

France and Saudi Arabia hope to use this year’s gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly and the increasingly horrific war in the Gaza Strip to inject new urgency into the quest for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Those efforts include a new road map for eventual Palestinian statehood in territories Israel seized in the 1967 Mideast war, and moves by several Western countries to join a global majority in recognizing such a state before it has been established. Britain, Canada and Australia formally recognized a Palestinian state on Sunday, joining nearly 150 countries that have already done so,
