Burning Question About Flag Desecration

Original Article

When President Trump signed his August 25th executive order setting guidelines under which burning an American flag can be prosecuted, we quickly learned how ignorant his critics are about the constitutional and cultural implications of desecrating this revered national symbol. Indeed, it appears that very few of these people actually read the President’s EO. It does not, as most Democrats and alleged experts insist, violate the 1989 Supreme Court ruling in Texas v. Johnson that flag burning is protected speech under the First Amendment.

All those stipulations pretty much invalidate any free speech right they may be pretending to leave intact. Who's to say what the intent was? Trump is acting like a democrat. The more he does things like this the more I feel like I am being ruled from a cat box. Surely there must be more important things for him to worry about.

Whatever happened to the concept of public shaming? Many/most of us here grew up in a time when just thinking about burning the flag would have been anathema to us and our family, friends, etc. Then again, thanks to the hippies in the 1960-70s, all social norms disappeared for the most part. Now in the era TikTok - it's all the rage to burn the flag of the country that allows you so much freedom. With freedom comes responsibility and respect - well, it use to.

It’s not that hard. We can either burn all flags or no flags.

Just eight years ago, in those halcyon days of 2017, millions of women took to the streets in pink “pussy” hats to protest the election of President Donald Trump, who they saw as an affront to women. The Women’s March planted leftists’ enraged flag in the sand — and eight months later they swamped social media and America’s airwaves to excoriate sexual harassment in the workplace. Protecting and believing women was the movement’s clarion call, with the hashtag #MeToo a symbol of women standing together against predators and abusers. And now, in 2025, they have once again taken to the streets to rally around . . . a credibly accused wife-beater.

President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he is working with Republican lawmakers to craft a new crime bill. In a post on Truth Social, the president wrote, “Speaker Mike Johnson, and Leader John Thune, are working with me, and other Republicans, on a Comprehensive Crime Bill. It’s what our Country need, and NOW! More to follow. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump had previously floated the idea of passing a new piece of legislation to curb crime in major cities across the country after federalizing law enforcement in Washington, DC.

We need to mark this one freeze frame, this digital data point in time, as that moment leftist lunacy was fully exposed in its utter moral collapse. We think we've seen it before in the election losses, the USAID money laundering scandal, the cheating vote counters, the Beria school of malpractice at the Justice Department, and cheering for criminals. However, this moment, this snapshot, says it all.Like a controlled demolition of an old relic of a building, the scene in a Mexican restaurant captured on video showed a piece-by-piece, trope-by-trope implosion of the leftist superstructure built on the foundation of bigotry, lunacy, and hearsay.

On August 8, 2022 about 30 FBI agents descended on Donald Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago and searched the place with less civility than they would have afforded a Miami drug lord. They spent most of that day rummaging through Trump’s personal belongings — and those of his wife and son — allegedly in search of classified documents. This was the first time in American history that such an outrage had been committed against any former president. Yet it was greeted with thinly disguised glee by Trump’s critics, including erstwhile National Security Advisor John Bolton.

Robbie Woodland was skeptical of President Trump’s takeover of the District of Columbia until she spotted a patrol firsthand in Southeast. The lifelong Washingtonian watched as federal agents drove by without performing any jump-outs or other strong-arm police tactics of the sort she feared would target her predominantly Black neighbors living across the Anacostia River, a part of the nation’s capital long associated with high crime. When she took her focus off the patrol and looked at her surroundings, she noticed that the troublemakers who had become fixtures of her community were nowhere to be found.

f you're a working parent (or if you know one) then you already know—summer is one big juggling act. Yes, there can be joy in the mix with sunshine, sprinklers, and popsicles. But there are also child care gaps, tricky logistics, and the ever-mounting costs of it all. And in the middle of all that juggling, it can be really tough to also keep up with what's happening in Congress. You might hear something about a "One Big Beautiful Bill" on the news or overhear some political back-and-forth, but what does any of that actually mean for you and your juggling routine? Let's break it down.
Will Newsom Rig His Redistricting Referendum? 8 replies

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has cast himself as a defender of democracy in the gerrymandering war that erupted after Texas Democrats fled the Lone Star State in a futile attempt to kill a GOP redistricting plan. This is obviously part of an ongoing effort to bolster his national profile ahead of a probable presidential run, but it has forced him to adopt an Orwellian position on redistricting. Newsom is telling Golden State voters that, to save democracy from Republicans, they must allow him to usurp the power of a redistricting commission they voted to create in a 2010 ballot initiative.

I just recorded Sean Spicer's show, and as he always does with his panel, he asked for a winner of the week and a loser. For the latter, I picked Gavin Newsom, who is on a losing streak. As he flails around, looking for a way to gain more traction in the race to become the Democrats' nominee for president, Newsom is trying on a Donald Trump skin suit to see if that will work. Hey! Trump is winning, so why not emulate his style? (Snip for X post) Ah, Gavin, this is pathetic. When Pete Buttigieg, Mr. Vanilla, is beating you in the race to become president

Fateh made the statement during an interview with KARE 11 News in Minnesota, doubling down on his identity as a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, but denying his policies are "radical." "Day one, if you were elected, what would be some of your top two or three priorities for the city?" the reporter asked in an interview aired Friday. "The first I would say would be a hostile federal government, with not only Donald Trump in office,

It’s hardly a secret that the Democrats are in the midst of an existential crisis. They are leaderless, fractious, broke, and more unpopular with the voters than they have been in decades. Yet, as their antics have demonstrated during the first seven months of the second Trump administration, they don’t connect these calamities to their bad policies and worse execution. Instead, they attribute their ills to malevolent forces threatening “our democracy” and see themselves as its saviors. How will they rescue the republic? Former Clinton advisor James Carville laid out a blueprint last Wednesday.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. A big, explosive controversy that’s impossible to ignore! A jaw-dropping confession that outraged his corporate bosses! Or maybe he’d finally suffer the consequences of speaking “truth to power” — and pay the ultimate price for refusing to back down! That’s how “The Howard Stern Show” was supposed to end. This November marks the 100th anniversary of TS Eliot’s haunting poem, “The Hollow Men.” It’s a telling coincidence, for it foretold not just the fate of the world, but of a certain shock-jock: “This is the way the [Howard Stern Show] ends; Now with a bang but a whimper.” This week, the news broke:

A shocking viral video shows a group of irate women beating up an Indiana Walmart employee as her co-workers desperately try to break up the mayhem. The disturbing footage, filmed on Friday at an Indianapolis Walmart and posted to Facebook by witness Kind Butler, shows a woman in black restraining the female employee as two other women attack her at the checkout aisle. As the employee is being held down, a woman in a pink shirt is seen savagely raining punches down on the victim, as another suspect starts to viciously stomp on her.

The gaslighting and games of pretending in/around Washington DC never changes. Before there was the obvious cognitive decline of Joe Biden, there was the obvious cognitive incapacity of Robert Mueller. However, both acuity compromises were ignored because the agenda the figureheads represented was more important than their obvious compromise. (snip) [SIDEBAR: I have always wondered why no journalist has ever asked President Trump about the meeting with Robert Mueller, organized by Rod Rosenstein, on the day before the special counsel was appointed. How did Trump feel about Rosenstein when he realized the meeting with Mueller was a ¹set up? (or did he realize it?).]

Rep. Rep. Jerry Nadler, 78, confirmed that he will retire at the close of his current term, saying his decision was shaped by growing calls for generational change within the Democratic Party. “Watching the Biden thing really said something about the necessity for generational change in the party, and I think I want to respect that,”

A federal judge has declared President Donald Trump’s use of military troops in Los Angeles illegal, barring the Pentagon from using National Guard members and Marines from performing police functions, like arrests and crowd control. In a 52-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer warned that Trump appears intent on “creating a national police force with the President as its chief.” Trump billed his deployment of troops to Los Angeles, starting in early June, as a way of bolstering immigration enforcement efforts amid protests in the city against the president’s deportation agenda. Though Trump has now withdrawn all but 300 of those troops, he is mulling

A new poll has found most U.S. adults agree hard work no longer guarantees economic gain, crushing the long-held cultural belief known as the American dream. There is a running joke on TikTok, which is predominantly used by younger adults, that the Baby Boomer generation is now able to sell their homes for millions after buying them with a handful of raspberries. This sentiment rang true in a recent survey from The Wall Street Journal and NORC at the University of Chicago, as well as in interviews conducted by the publication. A majority of respondents said the prior generation had an easier time buying a home, starting a

Another big player on Wall Street, Blackstone, is also in on the game, which recently announced its plans to acquire “a major electric utility in Texas and New Mexico” if permitted to do so. So why are these global investment firms turning their attention to our energy suppliers? Well, because the AI demand is set to drastically drive up energy consumption, and in a world of wind turbines and solar panels, that energy is going to be expensive.
