A Chuck E. Cheese mascot in Florida was featured in a perp walk this week, after being handcuffed while still in costume. Jermell Jones, the man in the mouse suit, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on three felony charges related to stolen credit cards. Police spokesperson Alicia Hill told the Tallahassee Democrat that police were called on July 3rd after a Chuck E. Cheese customer reported a stolen credit card. The victim told officers she noticed around $100 in fraudulent charges after a pizza party in June, and she was able to trace the activity to an employee at the restaurant. “Man, Chuck’s finally hit rock bottom, it seems,”

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has privately discussed the idea of running for political office next year in Tennessee, according to two people who have spoken directly with him about it.
If Hegseth were to follow through on the discussions, it would amount to a major leadership shake-up at the department that oversees the American military and millions of federal employees. The Defense Department bars civilian employees from running for political office, meaning Hegseth would have to resign to do so.

The suspect, Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes, allegedly confronted Danville City Councilman Lee Vogler, 38, at his office, at Showcase Magazine, and covered him with a flammable liquid, the Danville Police Department said. Both went outside where Hayes allegedly set Vogler on fire, police said. Vogler has been taken to a hospital in unknown condition, police said. Showcase Magazine said he sustained “serious burn injuries.”
