Democrats underwater in new poll

The Democratic Party’s approval rating is underwater at 40 percent, according to a new poll, the latest troubling sign for a party still grappling with its losses from November. A Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll released on Monday found that only 4 in 10 respondents approved of the job that the Democratic Party is doing, a slight drop from June, when 42 percent of respondents answered similarly. Of the 40 percent of respondents who gave the Democratic Party a thumbs-up, they included 72 percent of Democrats and 29 percent of independent or other voters.

It is not surprising when one realizes that the DimoTwit party has deeply linked itself to those who promote abortion as 'women's health', open LBTQ perversion, and those against enforcement of immigration laws, among other foolish/evil notions. But while we want to think Trump won in a landslide - there were still near 50 million who voted for Harris. And the razor slim Congress majority will disappear in a heart beat if we think we have mid-terms locked up. If we lose control of the US Congress, Trump will instantly be turned into a hapless lame duck President. We cannot let that happen.

Mamdani Isn't Inevitable. Here's How to

Forget Miami Beach. A new Times Square billboard is wooing New Yorkers to move to Ohio to flee the threat of Mamdani-ism. It's put up by Vivek Ramaswamy, who's running for governor of the Buckeye State. But New Yorkers can take a deep breath. We don't have to move to Ohio to escape the Mamdani threat. The best remedy is to turn out to vote in November. New Yorkers alarmed by Zohran Mamdani's Marxist convictions, "defund the police" history and anti-Israel rhetoric keep insisting he's impossible to beat with so many candidates splitting the anti-Mamdani vote.

Somebody turned the Kremlin bluster machine up to 11 following President Donald Trump's 50-day ultimatum to agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine — or else. My PJ Media colleague Matt Margolis covered the "or else" earlier today, but the executive summary is that unless Moscow agrees to a ceasefire within 50 days, Trump will impose a 100% tariff on exports from Russia and countries that buy Russian oil — targeting major buyers like China, India, Brazil, Turkey, and Europe, too. There's also a heavy sanctions bill working its way through the Senate that Trump says he's warming to.

New Yorkers on the street were asked about radical Muslim socialist Zohran Mamdani's recent victory in the state's Democratic primary race and his agenda. The answers they gave should scare the hell out of all Democrats. Speaking on Wednesday to Fox News' "The Faulkner Focus," ordinary people in the city were interviewed about Mamdani, and it was clear that not one of them plans to vote for the candidate when he faces off in November against former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and incumbent NY Mayor Eric Adams.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) was issued a subpoena over comments he made in February, implying that he was sheltering an illegal alien in his home, according to a New York Times report. Several people “with knowledge of the matter” told the outlet that U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba was “pursuing an investigation” into Murphy’s comments. Two of the sources clarified that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents had “sought to interview at least four witnesses in connection with the comments,” while another person stated that Murphy “had been subpoenaed”:

A district judge appointed by former President Barack Obama has upheld her own order from late last week blocking a provision of the “Big, Beautiful Bill” that defunds abortion giant Planned Parenthood of taxpayer dollars through Medicaid. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani issued an amended temporary restraining order on Friday explaining why she decided to block the provision ahead of a hearing — after releasing an initial order on July 7 blocking the provision with no explanation, just hours after Planned Parenthood filed its lawsuit.

Major League Baseball (MLB) made a scheduling decision regarding the 2021 All-Star Game in Atlanta. The decision was a political statement because of mounting pressure from the Biden Administration, Stacey Abrams, and a litany of virtue-signaling CEOs. In one decision, MLB removed any doubt that it didn't have the baseballs when it moved the All-Star Game to Denver, Col. Why were the wolves howling four years ago? Because the state of Georgia had the temerity to pass an election integrity bill, Senate Bill 202. Democrats, without any evidence, described the bill as "Jim Crow on steroids." Stacy Abrams, that bastion of integrity, called for economic boycotts.

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Endelphlemp preferred a steady diet of peppery apple sausages when spending the day translating the Beastie Boys catalogue into Lithuanian. Today's lead-off is an extension of something that Kevin and I discussed in an all-access episode of "Unwoke" last month. That was mostly about the riots in Los Angeles and how it seemed that there were (are) no adults in charge there. The other end of that leftist spectrum is a government that is too in charge. We saw a lot of that during the 14 years of COVID, didn't we? There's always more bad news with the lefties though.

Guthrie provided some details of how Democrat officials taking part in that tour did their best to portray those conditions as inhospitable to the illegal aliens being held within in an interview with Fox News personality Jesse Watters. Some of it is downright hilarious. Take, for example, the individual whom he did not name, who brought an infrared thermometer to try to assess the temperature.

Hamas has been demanding "clear guarantees" that any US-brokered ceasefire deal would ultimately lead to the end of the war in the Gaza Strip, meaning that the Israelis should stop defending themselves against attacks. Many Arabs seem to like starting wars -- such as the war of 1948, when five Arab armies invaded Israel on the day of its independence, and which they now call the nakba (catastrophe) -- but then getting angry when they lose them. "Once again, Hamas's spokesman – Izzat al-Risheq ... [insists] 'they will never surrender.' He speaks from comfort abroad, while Gazans starve in ruins....

EU trade ministers agreed Monday that U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of 30% tariffs on the European Union was “absolutely unacceptable,” and they are studying a new set of countermeasures to respond to the move. The ministers met Monday in Brussels following Trump’s surprise announcement over the weekend of such hefty tariffs, which could have repercussions for governments, companies and consumers on both sides of the Atlantic. The EU is America’s biggest business partner and the world’s largest trading bloc. Maroš Šefčovič, the EU’s trade representative in its talks with the U.S., said after the meeting that it was “very obvious from the discussions today, the 30% is absolutely unacceptable.”

Vice President JD Vance cast two tie-breaking votes in the Senate Tuesday to move forward a $9.4B rescissions package — which would rip federal funding from PBS and NPR — in the upper chamber. The Senate deadlocked, 50-50, on two procedural votes to start debate on the multibillion-dollar spending clawback package before Vance’s votes advanced the measure requested by the White House. Three Republicans – Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) – joined all Democrats in opposition to the bill.

For the five months of Trump’s administration, inflation has matched or beat expectations,” he said.
