The Hard Truth about ‘L’Affaire Chauvin’

Original Article

A week or so ago, I received an email from an old friend in the intelligence community—let’s call him “Smiley”—commenting on my research into the case of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in April 2021 of murdering chronic felon and drug abuser George Floyd a year prior. Said Smiley, “Time for you to write a ‘J’accuse’ piece--naming names.” He was referring to the powerful public letter French author Emile Zola wrote in 1898 damning the people responsible for the wrongful conviction and imprisonment of French Army Captain Alfred Dreyfus four years prior.

President Trump will probably have to set this situation right. The powers that be in Mogadapolis couldn’t care less about a cop rotting in prison or doing what is right.

Trump needs to pardon him right now in the middle of all this deportation chaos. It will drive them to crazed violence and then they can be crushed by the National Guard or Marines.

Must read! I thought that I had followed this closely at the time, but as is usual with Jack Cashill, he brings all of the ugly receipts. Sadly, #1, I don’t think that President Trump can do anything about Chauvin’s plight as I believe that his was not a federal trial. The one person who can change it, Tampon Tim, will never do it. A prayer or several for Chauvin would not be amiss.

For any who would like to follow up on Zola's heroic defense of the wrongly imprisoned Dreyfus, there is a fine 1937 film "The Life Of Emile Zola' which centers on the case that Smiley references. Splendid performances by Paul Muni (Zola) and Joseph Schildkraut (Dreyfus), Oscar winner, and a fine supporting cast, make this truly worth a watch.

Powerful article! It's about time we beat the drume on this! I might only add one thing that I am outraged by to this day. Gwen Walz not only smelled the burning tires and buildings which was sweet perfume to her, she smelled the burning flesh of Oscar Stewart who perished by fire trying to save his store. Despicable.

Superb research and writing. We have had the frustration of knowing that Chauvin did nothing wrong and have not had access to the truth until lately. George Floyd was a dimwitted, drug addicted thug and the streets of Minneapolis are much better off without him. A pox on BLM and the cowardly and racist "authorities" who framed Chauvin.

I agree with #3 about federal vs. state prosecution but Trump has other ways to make sure Minnesota grants Chauvin a pardon or at least a commutation. Preferably a full pardon and an apology plus damages to Chauvin. It might incite a big portion of a certain demographic to riot again but right is right. A state shouldn't be held hostage by a mob. Do the right thing, Minnesota, and free an innocent man.

These issues need to be reviewed by a congressional committee or other bipartisan body and their findings authoritatively set before the American people in a manner that cannot be obfuscated or ignored. The Governor of Minnesota and the President must then take whatever action those findings require.

The DOJ Civil Rights Division can bring charges against those that committed these crimes, both in the Chauvin case and the Tina Peters case. I think action is already underway in the Tina Peters case.

The LA Riots Prove that Democrats Need Illegals 6 replies

ICE bad, illegals rioting good. You can bet that’s Democrats’ calculation. Riots have been underway in Los Angeles. Mask-wearing provocateurs are waving Mexican flags. LA is their Mount Suribachi. A lot of people say that if illegals love Mexico so much, then go back home. But they miss the point. What’s happening in LA is about conquest. Hoisting Mexican flags on U.S. soil stakes a claim. This real estate is ours, declare the troublemakers, among whom are surely homegrown leftist agitators. LA, in part, smells like a George Floyd riots redo. In this instance, federal agents, acting on behalf of American citizens, are being fought.

As you’re probably aware, illegal aliens, communists, Antifa foot soldiers, and other agents of Marxism, Islam, and chaos, went to war against federal law enforcement officers rounding up illegal aliens in Los Angeles (estimated to be 10% of Los Angeles County’s population, although I suspect that estimate is very, very low). There’s a lot to say about all this, including the notable fact that the people who were setting fires and throwing projectiles waved Mexican and “Palestinian” flags, and were funded by socialist NGOs, but I actually want to focus specifically on California’s governor, Gavin Newsom.

The problem with the courts is the same as the problem with many of our other institutions. Called the Skinsuit Phenomenon, after the great @Iowahawk’s famous tweet that perfectly sums up the leftist approach to marching through our society: “1. Identify a respected institution. 2. Kill it. 3. Gut it. 4. Wear its carcass as a skinsuit, while demanding respect. #lefties.” The courts are supposed to have respect because they’re supposed to do their job, but, as is so common these days, they’re not doing the job, yet they still expect the respect. That’s just not in the cards.

The legacy media finds itself in a dilemma of its own making. The depth and seriousness of Joe Biden’s mental and physical problems during his presidency are being exposed daily—ironically, much of it by the denizens of the legacy media as they feverishly attempt to absolve their culpability in keeping the American people in the dark about Biden’s unfolding mental and physical infirmities as well as what was really happening in the Oval Office. The net result of this disingenuous mea culpa will accelerate the already record downward spiral in the citizenry’s trust in the media.

Forgery is a crime we don’t hear much about anymore since few people write checks and instead rely on electronic payment methods. It can take many forms, such as signing a check or document in someone else’s name without their permission or knowledge. Creating a false document like a driver’s license was once a teenage rite of passage, but it was much easier in my day when the license was a piece of paper rather than a hardened piece of plastic containing myriad anti-fraud provisions.

Pres. Trump will be getting his big, beautiful bill. It won’t be right away, but it shouldn’t be much past Labor Day. There’s a lot of handwringing and confusion over this bill by would-be deficit hawks, Elon Musk included. But I don’t think most of them have the foggiest idea what’s really happening. As Stephen Miller pointed out, Budget Reconciliation only allows changes to mandatory program spending like Medicaid. It isn’t an appropriations bill. What Republicans are trying to do with this measure is cut some taxes and peel back the huge enrollments in Medicaid the Biden people engineered the last few years.

Well, it’s been five years since the Saint George Floyd incident, and what have we learned? What has been done? I won’t bother to rehash who and what Saint George was -- that is readily available to anyone who cares to look. Suffice to say, the narrative isn’t remotely accurate. But with the Left the narrative is seldom accurate, as that isn’t its goal. It’s the emotional -- and manipulative -- storyline that’s important, not reality. I’ve been a management consultant for decades and in the course of my work I’ve been to some of the toughest neighborhoods in the country. Very few white folks have seen and been where I have.

In Seattle last weekend, violence broke out—not from the pulpit, but from the pavement. Pastors and churchgoers, gathered for a permitted worship event in a city park, found themselves besieged by a black-clad mob who attempted to tear down fencing, rush the stage, and shout them down. The attackers were not counter-protesters in any constitutional sense of the word. They were masked militants whose tactics have become a hallmark of Antifa: organized, aggressive, and aimed not at persuasion but suppression. To their credit, the Seattle police intervened. Arrests were made. Barricades held. For a moment, law reasserted itself in a city too long governed by hesitation.

In a brief return to Britain, I was concerned to see that London has undergone a dramatic demographic change. The city of my birth is visibly more Muslim than it was even four years ago. On the Tube, I saw more hijabs than baseball caps. The Muslim niqab -- with its full face covering -- is no longer rare. For decades, Brits have not been allowed to question the wisdom of importing large numbers of people into a western society who do not share western values. (Brits who do so on social media risk going to prison).

When the smoke was still rising from the rubble of the Twin Towers, the American people were reeling, grieving—and vulnerable. That vulnerability was weaponized. In one of the most cunning bait-and-switch maneuvers in modern history, our government handed us the Patriot Act—an Orwellian surveillance framework disguised as national defense. We didn’t just get conned—we got conquered. Not by terrorists from abroad, but by tyrants in suits. The Patriot Act was born less than two months after 9/11, passed with breakneck speed, virtually unread by the very members of Congress who signed it into law.

Thousands of anti-ICE rioters descended on a major freeway in downtown Los Angeles Sunday evening, blocking traffic in both directions, while rioters downtown set off fireworks and torched several self-driving cars. If you’re the media, you call it a “mostly peaceful protest.” Normal people might call it an “insurrection.” But “insurrection” is not quite right, either. “Insurrection” implies a violent revolt against the government by its own citizens, not violence by uninvited foreigners who refuse to leave. I suppose you could call it a riot, but when its foreigners claiming ownership of the land, it’s a bit more than that. So, the question remains: What do you call it when foreigners: illegally enter the country, refuse our requests that they leave, assert ownership over the land, attack our people, places and government, under the colors of their foreign flag while burning the American flag,
