The Elon-Trump Bromance Crashes and Burns

Elon Musk is First Buddy no longer. The epic bromance between Musk and President Donald Trump, between the richest man on the planet and the most powerful one, has come to an end, not with a bang but with a tweet: Just days after Trump granted Musk a golden key in an Oval Office send-off from his role as head of DOGE and adviser to the White House, Musk unleashed on the president’s Big Beautiful Bill: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” he wrote on his social media platform, X. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.

Disappointing, if genuine. But to those 4 or 5 dimensional chess theorists: just yesterday we celebrated a mission that depended largely on the Allies convincing the German High Command that we had amassed an entire invasion force in East Anglia, poised to strike Calais. They fell for the ruse, and chances of success of the Normandy landing were greatly increased. Just my odd musing.

The media is pretty much worthless, both sides. They can't just report the news; they have to create a narrative. The deficit mushroomed from under a trillion/year pre-pandemic to over 2 trillion/year afterwards. Apparently, Trump's big, beautiful bill did not cut the deficit, and that's why Musk has a bug up his rear end. Either that, or Musk joined the administration to protect his interests, and it didn't work out. Musk needs to stop blaming Trump and find out why the deficit wasn't cut. Trump needs to stop playing tit for tat. There's a job to be done.

I'm not picking sides in this, unlike everyone in the media. My only comment is both men need to act like adults, state their opinions calmly, then try to resolve them, without name calling. The lefties are happier than pigs in mud. We need both to save our country. All of the news is off my radar for now.

I'm with #9. I want Trump and Elon to take their little grade school fight back inside any building and away from public view. Why give the Democrats ammo to use against Trump? If they want to squabble, let them, but do it in Private. Trump does not need to be king of the world. If Elon doesn't agree with some things Trump does, he should just be quiet and let Trump do his thing. We can only have one President at it a time! I'm tired of the whole thing! Move on!

To all of the people bashing Donald Trump and the way he is handling himself, I have a question to ask. How well did things work out when George W Bush was belittled AND how well did things work out when Sarah Palin was treated in the fashion she was? Liberals escalate the attacks and Donald Trump is the ego? Elon Musk makes the statement about the Jeffrey Epstein list and that Donald Trump might be on it? I think the smears against Donald Trump have become OUTRAGEOUS and RIDICULOUS. Some of the them are downright nasty and that one from Elon Musk was uncalled for.

While mainstream news outlets, cable networks and social media obsess over Elon Musk’s latest antics, they have neglected a far more important story — the Trump administration is accumulating a significant catalogue of appeals court and SCOTUS victories. Last Friday alone three more wins were added to the list. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the White House may exclude AP from its press pool while SCOTUS stayed a district court order requiring DOGE to heed a Freedom of Information Act request and ruled that it can access Social Security Administration records.

It may seem a bit early to start gaming the 2026 midterm elections, but not for Senate races -- and perhaps especially in Texas, where even a deep-red electorate has its issues with its own incumbents. John Cornyn recently tried to move up the Senate Republican leadership ladder after the retirement of Mitch McConnell, eventually losing to John Thune for Majority Leader. That may not be Cornyn's last loss, according to a new poll out from UpOne Insights and GOP pollster Robert Blizzard. Texas AG Ken Paxton announced a primary challenge against the 73-year-old four-term incumbent, and Blizzard's poll of 600 registered Republican voters shows Cornyn down

Now that Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson have published Original Sin, which confirms what most Americans already knew — that former President Joe Biden was cognitively unfit to carry out the duties of his office — the corporate media are attempting to deflect attention from their complicity in a dangerous cover up. The “original sin,” according to Tapper and Thompson, was Biden’s decision to run for reelection in 2024 and the dishonesty of his aides. A far more egregious sin, however, was the cover-up of Biden’s decline by countless journalists who refused to report the truth.

A growing number of Democrats are arguing that members of their party need to reconsider their use of certain left-wing words and phrases if they want to better connect with voters they lost in the 2024 election cycle, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday. Some members of the Democratic Party are raising concerns that many of their candidates have become too reliant on using elite-sounding phrases, which they claim is a type of language that could isolate working-class voters, according to the Washington Post. The article cites examples of left-wing words and phrases often used by Democrats, such as “oligarchs,” “equity,” “justice-involved populations” and “intersectionality.”

It’s taken a while, but Democrats are finally confronting the empirical reality of their second loss to Trump. The evidence is impossible to ignore. For example, recent analysis of county-level voting trends in the past three elections by Shane Goldmacher in The New York Times shows that Trump improved his standing in “1,433 of the nation's 3,100+ counties, even as he lost in 2020. Democrats have expanded their vote share continuously in only 57 counties.” Likewise, TLP’s own analysis of the gold-star Catalist data from 2024 shows how the party lost significant ground with major demographic groups from 2012 to 2024, including: black voters (22-point decline), Latinos (27-point decline), working-class

Like a lot of Democrats these days, Chris Murphy has been doing some soul searching. For years, the Connecticut Senator, who took office shortly after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, was one of the nation’s most outspoken advocates for tighter gun laws. Gun safety was so important, he argued, that supporting an assault-weapons ban should be mandatory for Democratic leaders. Recently, Murphy has come to believe he was wrong. Not about tougher gun laws, but about trying to force all Democrats to adopt his position. “I bear some responsibility for where we are today,” he told me in a phone interview in April.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is angling to be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028 by trying to appeal to voters outside his progressive base. But he's not fooling anyone. Newsom, for example, has proposed limiting health care coverage for migrants who entered the country illegally. He's told local leaders in California to clear homeless encampments, which are a bane for urban dwellers from San Francisco to San Diego. And he's even engaged on his podcast in thoughtful, cordial conversations with conservatives like Charlie Kirk, cofounder of Turning Point USA.

William Sullivan’s essay regarding scientific atheism is intriguing and enlightening. It got me thinking about a very simple proof for a Creator. The atheist loves to proclaim, “There is no scientific proof of the existence of God!” This is true, since by “scientific” proof, the atheist means “empirical” proof, and there is no empirical proof of anything. However, it is quite easy to use logic to prove in easy steps that God exists and that He is the God of the Bible. 1. Every existing thing either is or is not existentially dependent upon the action of other beings. Those beings that are existentially dependent are called “contingent.” A being that is not

See how they’re shooting themselves and others?! After all, if it saves one life, don’t we have to ban them?! Isn’t that a moral imperative?! If we adopted that standard, we’d have no power tools, no kitchen knives, we wouldn’t be able to use fire or swim, and we’d be walking but surrounded by safety cages on wheels, just in case. He's only the governor of California presiding over the chaos he helped cause by running a proudly "sanctuary state"--forcing taxpayers to pay for all manner of support for illegal aliens—while presiding over open air drug use, "homelessness," and "insurrection." He's supported and endorsed the people running these protests (see my story nearby). Newsom would like you to believe, however, that it's President Donald Trump's fault that these bullhorn-spewing, pre-produced-sign-waving "protesters" have become violent. Indeed, these agents provocateur hope that the rabble take the bait and cause more pain. That’s Trump’s fault, naturally.
