Trump Is Racking Up Court Victories

While mainstream news outlets, cable networks and social media obsess over Elon Musk’s latest antics, they have neglected a far more important story — the Trump administration is accumulating a significant catalogue of appeals court and SCOTUS victories. Last Friday alone three more wins were added to the list. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the White House may exclude AP from its press pool while SCOTUS stayed a district court order requiring DOGE to heed a Freedom of Information Act request and ruled that it can access Social Security Administration records.

From the article: "Perhaps, by that time, even Elon Musk will have at last divined the difference between big money and genuine power on the world stage." As much as I respect what Elon Musk has done, I didn't vote for him to be President of the USA. In the Lucianne cartoon above, it refers to two leaders of a respective country - Zelensky and Putin. It is not the case with Trump and Musk. Maybe Elon Musk forgot that fact.

The actions at issue were clearly within the President's constitutional authority. It's sad when we have to celebrate when courts affirm the obvious.

Two decisions will indicate which way the winds will be blowing at least for the next two years. On, can districts judges pass universal injunctions. Two, is birthright citizenship constitutional. The rest is just bumps in the road.

Yeah, well, the article doesn't read like a lot of winning. PDT can fire all but three of the board members of PBS, says the supreme little judge and the bylaws of the PBS board; a rule designed to protect them. Forget firing them, get rid of PBS and be done with it. They can stay on the board and make it on their own and without our tax dollars. Why are we taking this route? I don't want to fund a conservative PBS; I don't want to fund it at all.

Elon Musk is First Buddy no longer. The epic bromance between Musk and President Donald Trump, between the richest man on the planet and the most powerful one, has come to an end, not with a bang but with a tweet: Just days after Trump granted Musk a golden key in an Oval Office send-off from his role as head of DOGE and adviser to the White House, Musk unleashed on the president’s Big Beautiful Bill: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” he wrote on his social media platform, X. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.

It may seem a bit early to start gaming the 2026 midterm elections, but not for Senate races -- and perhaps especially in Texas, where even a deep-red electorate has its issues with its own incumbents. John Cornyn recently tried to move up the Senate Republican leadership ladder after the retirement of Mitch McConnell, eventually losing to John Thune for Majority Leader. That may not be Cornyn's last loss, according to a new poll out from UpOne Insights and GOP pollster Robert Blizzard. Texas AG Ken Paxton announced a primary challenge against the 73-year-old four-term incumbent, and Blizzard's poll of 600 registered Republican voters shows Cornyn down

Now that Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson have published Original Sin, which confirms what most Americans already knew — that former President Joe Biden was cognitively unfit to carry out the duties of his office — the corporate media are attempting to deflect attention from their complicity in a dangerous cover up. The “original sin,” according to Tapper and Thompson, was Biden’s decision to run for reelection in 2024 and the dishonesty of his aides. A far more egregious sin, however, was the cover-up of Biden’s decline by countless journalists who refused to report the truth.

In light of the fresh revelations stemming from the release of the new exposé on Joe Biden, "Original Sin," as well as the recent announcement that the former president has an aggressive form of prostate cancer, questions are being raised about what those closest to him may have known and if so, when they knew it.Among those in the hot seat is Dr. Kevin O'Connor, who was Biden's White House physician and who was also referenced in the book as having a discussion with aides about the possibility that Biden would need to use a wheelchair in his last year and a half in office if he suffered another fall.

A growing number of Democrats are arguing that members of their party need to reconsider their use of certain left-wing words and phrases if they want to better connect with voters they lost in the 2024 election cycle, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday. Some members of the Democratic Party are raising concerns that many of their candidates have become too reliant on using elite-sounding phrases, which they claim is a type of language that could isolate working-class voters, according to the Washington Post. The article cites examples of left-wing words and phrases often used by Democrats, such as “oligarchs,” “equity,” “justice-involved populations” and “intersectionality.”

It’s taken a while, but Democrats are finally confronting the empirical reality of their second loss to Trump. The evidence is impossible to ignore. For example, recent analysis of county-level voting trends in the past three elections by Shane Goldmacher in The New York Times shows that Trump improved his standing in “1,433 of the nation's 3,100+ counties, even as he lost in 2020. Democrats have expanded their vote share continuously in only 57 counties.” Likewise, TLP’s own analysis of the gold-star Catalist data from 2024 shows how the party lost significant ground with major demographic groups from 2012 to 2024, including: black voters (22-point decline), Latinos (27-point decline), working-class

For a sense of how desperate the opponents of President Trump have become, consider the rallying cry issued by Hillary Clinton to her fellow travelers last Friday: “I want you to talk to two people — friends, neighbors, cookout attendees — about why Trump’s proposed budget would be a disaster for American kids.” Now, imagine yourself sitting down to enjoy a hotdog and a beer in the warm spring weather only to be accosted by your progressive brother-in-law who insists on boring the bejabbers out of you with a rote recitation of talking points thoughtfully provided by HRC.

Well, my my my. The Washington DC establishment sure seems determined to distance itself from the obvious media and political cover-up of the past four years. No one exemplifies that establishment as Sally Quinn does. Not only is Quinn the doyenne of DC 'society,' she also has a columnist gig at the Washington Post for decades. Quinn was married to legendary Post editor Ben Bradlee for 36 years until his death in 2014, and has long been a formidable figure in the nation's capital, both politically and socially. Like a lot of Democrats these days, Chris Murphy has been doing some soul searching. For years, the Connecticut Senator, who took office shortly after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, was one of the nation’s most outspoken advocates for tighter gun laws. Gun safety was so important, he argued, that supporting an assault-weapons ban should be mandatory for Democratic leaders. Recently, Murphy has come to believe he was wrong. Not about tougher gun laws, but about trying to force all Democrats to adopt his position. “I bear some responsibility for where we are today,” he told me in a phone interview in April.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is angling to be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028 by trying to appeal to voters outside his progressive base. But he's not fooling anyone. Newsom, for example, has proposed limiting health care coverage for migrants who entered the country illegally. He's told local leaders in California to clear homeless encampments, which are a bane for urban dwellers from San Francisco to San Diego. And he's even engaged on his podcast in thoughtful, cordial conversations with conservatives like Charlie Kirk, cofounder of Turning Point USA.

Thousands of anti-ICE rioters descended on a major freeway in downtown Los Angeles Sunday evening, blocking traffic in both directions, while rioters downtown set off fireworks and torched several self-driving cars. Police officers were eventually able to force the mob down an exit ramp, restoring the free flow of traffic on the 101 Freeway, but Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell admitted that his officers were “overwhelmed” by the scale of the riots, which have continued for four consecutive days in Los Angeles. “We are overwhelmed,” McDonnell said in a Sunday night press conference. “Tonight, we had individuals out there shooting commercial-grade fireworks at our officers. Democrats are trying to make “TACO” — or “Trump always chickens out”— a new political slogan to get under the president’s skin. But it is not as clever a quip as they think it is, and it creates a perverse incentive for Trump to push the red buttons they don’t want him to push. (snip) it is straightforwardly wrongheaded as a political slogan. Why on Earth would Democrats dare Trump to follow through on his most extreme tariff threats? If this slogan were to really work, (snip)it would nudge him and his allies to cling more tightly to the most extreme versions of Trump’s bad economic policies.

LOS ANGELES — California Gov. If you’re the media, you call it a “mostly peaceful protest.” Normal people might call it an “insurrection.” But “insurrection” is not quite right, either. “Insurrection” implies a violent revolt against the government by its own citizens, not violence by uninvited foreigners who refuse to leave. I suppose you could call it a riot, but when its foreigners claiming ownership of the land, it’s a bit more than that. So, the question remains: What do you call it when foreigners: illegally enter the country, refuse our requests that they leave, assert ownership over the land, attack our people, places and government, under the colors of their foreign flag while burning the American flag,
