Can Greg Gutfeld Save New York City?

Original Article

Posted By: Mercedes44, 2/24/2025 5:16:06 AM

Is there anyone out there who doesn’t know who Greg Gutfeld is? He is the host of the highest rated late night talk show on Fox News at 10:00 p.m. His format usually includes two guests and two regulars discussing recent current events with humor, very politically incorrect comments, and frequently blipped-out blue language. He is way funnier than Bill Maher was when his Politically Incorrect show aired from New York but the most important thing about Gutfeld is the size of his audience and who is watching.

Can't believe that the Dems might pick disgraced Andrew Cuomo to run for mayor. Are New Yorkers voters just stupid?

Maybe the voters of NYC should ask why Cuomo decided to place COVID patients in the nursing homes of NYC when Pres Trump offered him wonderful facilities that was never used,

It's a nice, positive wish and I'm sure many lifetime residents feel the same way but the crime and corruption runs too deep for any kind of quick fix. The culture must be changed with young children having safe and effective schools and the ability to return home to two-parent families. Unions need to be put under control and democrat politicians should be kept away from the city council and the mayor's office. Tourism will return only when one can walk from Little Italy all the way up to Central Park without suffering a mugging or worse. I would love to be part of a live audience on the Gutfeld show but right now it's a dangerous idea.

Let's not forget how horrible was the David Dinkins tenure when progroms against the Jews and heavy crime with squeegee men ruled the streets. The voters wisely chose Rudy to save city. We just have to find another Rudy.

As a life long New Yorker and a 30 year employee of its government, (and I worked my tail off) NYC cannot come back. I adore Alicia Colon and there is no other media person with the exception of the NY Post's Michael Goodwin that knows NYC better. But, tragically, she is wrong. The NYC election system is thoroughly corrupt with ranked choice voting fully in the hands of the socialists who will continue to freely manipulate the outcomes. But, even before that, there is no serious republican party in either NYC or the state. Ed Cox, Nixon's son-in-law is a total and disaster as head of the party. There are times, republicans don't even field candidates for NYC elections. There are no serious political and business leaders in NYC. In the 1970s when NYC was in deep trouble a group of very smart, dedicated and serious political and business leaders saved the City. They do not exist today. And Ms. Colon if you can think of any I would love to hear who they are. The elected officials are frighteningly stupid socialists. As such, NYC and NYS are in the grip of a thoroughly thuggish group of democrat socialists and the political structure and will of the weak republican party cannot at this point make a dent. I pray that I am wrong. But, I know this City and have seen it through its really bad times and it's wonderful Giuliani times and what's happening today is like nothing I have ever seen. It's done.

Enjoy Greg and his crew. The blue humor is funny, the political humor is funny, and his guests really seem to be having a good time. But, no, he cannot save NYC. Only the voters can and I see no hope. Only went to NYC once and hated it. Too much, too crowded, too rude and indifferent. I did see some interesting places and enjoyed The Lion King on Broadway but I would never go back. Live in fly over country and glad that I do. Despite what CA and NY think we do not envy you and wish we lived there. When NYC is thinking of Cuomo there's your answer.

Agree with #14. Until you make the city safe again, tourism and business will continue to decline. It's getting worse with their "sanctuary City" foolishness, spending millions to house illegal leeches and criminals and watching women burned alive on the subway. The grifter politicians are ruining a once great city. It will take a few more years until we see a real life "Escape From New York" but it's coming.

Alcia knows the territory. Polls have shown that Gutfeld, who runs a very New York program that skewers Lib/Dem craziness, atttracts a young audience, from18 to 50ish. Those who cringe at a little blue and bleep also tend to focus on that. Seems to be all they see while others see much more so tend to glide by it. He gives me laughs on nights when I don't have a lot to laugh about, and is a refreshing change from the constant Dem propaganda on TV. Change will come from younger voters. I hope Alicia is right.

Portugal’s caretaker government plans to expel some 18,000 foreigners living in the country without authorization, a minister said Saturday in the buildup to a national election. Minister of the Presidency António Leitão Amaro said the center-right government will issue approximately 18,000 notifications to people in the country illegally to leave. The minister said officials will begin next week by asking some 4,500 foreigners to leave voluntarily within 20 days. Portugal will hold an early general election on May 18. The Trump administration scored a HUGE win on Saturday in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Not only did the court grant the administration's request for a stay pending appeal in several consolidated/related cases, but it set forth the framework that district courts should be adhering to in analyzing many of the cases currently pending before them regarding the administration's actions. Since President Donald Trump resumed office in January and began issuing a series of executive orders and actions aimed at dismantling and/or sizably reducing the size of the bureaucratic state, lawsuit after lawsuit has been filed against the administration in an effort to thwart his agenda.

Now, as I prepare for college, I see antisemitism rising again in places that are supposed to be centers of learning and acceptance. Let’s get the big news out of the way: The economy shrank by 0.3% during the first quarter of 2025, a mild but not wholly unexpected drop blamed by nearly everyone on President Donald Trump’s tariff hikes. Is that the first step toward a recession, or, as Trump put it, just a result of the “Biden overhang”? First, let’s just note one big thing: The media can’t help but show its glaring bias against Trump even when it reports boring data, such as the barely negative GDP number. In case you didn’t get that quote, it was a play on the clueless remark (“Crisis? It’s the part of the Trump revolution you’re not hearing about, because it strikes fear into the nation’s socialist media, to the point that they are now churning out apocalyptic tales of woe loosely based on what’s happening to their industry. A few days ago, a piece pointed out that President Trump had upended the leftist ratchet. This is the tendency for the left to go hog wild when they grab power and push their socialist national agenda to the hilt. And then when things flip to the pro-freedom side, we can only bring the ball back to a certain degree.
